  • ok thanks a few missing-what about dick bulldog brower -brower power--dominic dunnicie-brute bernard,,art nelson,spiros arion-thanks for posting-oh tiger singh

  • Hey moron maybe you were not alive during the 70s but Bruno Samartino should be number one of not only the 70s but of all time.

  • Some names I would have included:

Bob Backlund(no brainer), Thunderbolt patterson, Mr. Wrestling II, Ric Flair, Antonio Inoki, Ole Anderson, Gene Anderson, Mad Dog Vachon.

Some names I would not have included:

Killer Karl Kox, Mark Lewin, Jackie Fargo, Ox Baker, Stan Stasiak, Ivan Koloff.

I think a lot of WWWF wrestlers from that era get way more credit than they should as far as star power due to the fact they are the only company from that era that still exists in a credible form.

  • The NWA champions were the biggest stars in wrestling at that time. While I agree with Andre being high in the rankings, I believe that Harley Race, Jack Brisco, Terry and Dory Funk and Dusty Rhodes were bigger stars than Andre.

  • Wahoo Mcdanial deserves to be waaaaaaaay higher than 38. No backlund? How about Mr Inoki?

  • nothing against harley race who i thought was great, but bruno sammartino dominated race when they wrestled against each other in their few rare matches.

  • @MrMferg240 Oh I agree! Sammartino was the best

  • @MrMferg240 Oh I agree! Sammartino was the best . Great list but also where is Bob Backlund?

  • this music is terrible

  • Shame on you for leaving out Tor Kamata . . . who dedicated his life to wrestling and held many championships from the 60's to the 80's!! Who loved the business and NEVER sold out . . .

  • Moose Cholak was always one of my favorites along with Pampero Firpo.

  • i didnt see danny little bear who was champ for years in the midwest

  • Damn!!! this brought back memories from the Saturday morning and evenings in the 70's...days when ya didn't need cable to see the wrestling

  • Wow, very accurate list. Of course Andre had to be #1. Race is a good choice for 2 but I would have put Bockwinkel at 3. Nicely done list though.

  • Well, I woulda put Mad Dog Vachon on this list (unless I missed him on here somehow) and definitly woulda had Bockwinkel higher. Prolly higher than Verne!!! Otherwise, good list!!!

  • this list is not complete without Mil Mascaras!!!!!

  • Great compilation.

Sad to see a few missing that though should be there though.

Dick the Bulldog Brower and Mil Mascaras to name a few.

Great video and ohhhh the flashbacks.

  • Nice Vid! Your Top Ten was Perfect.

  • good list !!

  • No masked wrestlers?

  • Those girls posed on Andre's shoulders at the end are (L-R) Donna Christanello, Toni Rose, Debbie Johnson and Vicki Williams. I don't disagree with your list, but I might change the order of some of them. Purely my opinion though, as is your list your opinion. Today's modern wrestling fans have never even heard of some of the people on the list. Nice job!

  • No list is complete without Ole and Gene Anderson. They were one of the best tag teams to ever work a match.

  • ric flair beat bruno sammartino? name me where and when crberry12!.

  • WOW really no Ric Flair? He faught and beat everyone on this list!

  • pretty good...would trade Stasiak for Backlund though. And since it was a :Top 40 you should had include Ric Flair. He accomplished a lot in the 70s and was a top draw.

  • Where are Bruiser Brody & Tiger Jeet Singh?

  • Not bad I don't agree with the order but an over all decent list.. You are missing George the animal Steel, Dick Murdoch, and Mil Mascaras

  • best dropkick murphys song

  • LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING AWA GUY !!! SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM IS #1 LOL

  • Actually alot of these guys were in their prime in the 60's. Where's Larry Zabhysco or Bob Backlund? Where's Rocky Johnson or Tony Atlas? How about Big John Studd or Ivan Putski? Seriously, no Ken Patera? I think you might have your decades a little mixes up. Verne Gagne? Killer Kowalski? Like I said, alot of these guys were big in the 60's.

  • @jjevans2009 All the guys you named were bigger stars in the 80's than they were the 70's (cept maybe Putski). Verne held the AWA title for the entire first half of the decade in the 70's. Kowalski I would agree with though, although he did feud with Bruno alot in the 70's main eventing MSG quite a bit!!!

  • @Rayla840 They were more well known in the 80's because TV exposure was greater, but they were in the prime of their careers much earlier. Watching Verne Gagne wrestle in the 80's was nostalgic, but he wasn't in the shape he was 15 or 20 years earlier. Kowalski was wrestling Sammartino in the 60's and perhaps the very early 70's. Bruno was feuding with guys like Billy Graham and Ken Patera in the 70s.

  • Where's Mad Dog Vachon?

  • The two greatest wrestlers from this era are missing....Freddie Blassie and John Tolos. I know this is your list but these omissions are near unforgivable....That being said, an awesome collection of many wrestlers I completely forgot about....

  • I didn't see Terry Funk on the list anywhere. No Lawler either.

  • @Cabbageboy316 Look again, Cabbageboy - he's there.

  • Bruno Sammartino FTW!

  • Another nice list, I enjoy these!

  • where is Bob Backlund?????

but I guess anyone can put a list of their favorites without doing any research!

  • Angelo Mosca- the Hamilton Tiger Cat

  • Dick "Bulldog" Bower, Mighty Igor, Johnny Weaver?

  • where is rick flair and hulk hogan?

  • was superstar billy graham on steroids or what?

  • harley better than vern and bruno???????in the 70's

    crazy man.....but awsome vidie

  • good job

  • Exceptional!

  • How bout greatest wrestlers of the 1910's you could have Joe Acton and all the other great stars of that era that we always watched lol

  • cant argue a bit , nice job dude

  • abby deserves to be top 10...(the briscos never saw what was so good) giant baba top 10 and NOT superstar..#1 spot...you NAILED IT...again my opinions

  • i agree with the list except i didn't see bob backlund somewhere...

  • he should show up in the 80s

  • Bob Backlund debuts in 1973 in AWA...

  • i meant my 80s list, but i guess thats why its my list...

  • Shouldn't have Hulk Hogan been on the list?He debuted in I think 78 or 79

  • really? and what did hogan do in the 70s as a wrestler to make him great? the Steelers suck, Roethlesberger is a poser

  • You mean the 6 time superbowl champions?

  • @thickey1156 You mean the 6 time Superbowl Champions don't you?

  • are you dump?

    read 1970s

    means 1970 71 72 73 74 75 76 77 78 79

    were included

  • @lambert581 hogan first appeared in 77 and calling him a great wrestler of the 70s is complete shit he was an 80s man he was a low key wrestlers in 70s he was still not imortal thats like saying greay wrestlers of 1995 hhh even though he was a lowcard player

  • got your point but he's more prominent during the 70's...

  • i thought he was a tweener more than anyone else i could think of, but couldnt give him a spot on both like some other guys may get

  • i want Ox Baker's shirt 1:35

  • isnt that fucking awesome

  • i think i'm going to buy some iron-on letters at a craft store and make my own "YOU WILL HATE ME" shirt. who's music did you use?

  • dropkick murphys
