  • It's amazing how she's so young and has only been in a few films, and yet she can give a performance like this. It's really astonishing.

  • @PaleLittleGirl2 u are right, LOL

  • i think she's one of maybe 10 people in the world who can pull off no eyebrows amazingly

  • letterman is usually a bit of a tool but he was respectful to her here :)

  • She's probably great in the movie but I can't get myself to watch it I love Noomi Rapace to much, she's the real Lisbeth Salander! The Scandivavian Power got the best of me!

  • In a perfect world, Rooney Mara would win the Academy Award for Best Actress. Unfortunately, that won't happen.

  • @IrishAussie97 nah viola davis is going to win. but Mara should hands down

  • I wish she would get the Oscar. I know she won't, but I wish she would

  • She is beautiful and very sweet! Looks nothing like the character she plays. I hope she wins the oscar!

  • What a delightful woman! And a staggeringly talented actress. I hope she gets the Oscar.

  • big girl crush

  • 5:55 Creepy grandpa XD

  • She's just so subtley funny in this interview. Does that make sense? LOL

  • Is that his Facebook timeline on the computer screen? XD

  • I want to be her.

  • The weirdest blouse. Leaves her wall-eyed.

  • I almost threw up in the rape scen, so I can't possibly imagine how it was filming it, I got the same reaction as Letterman: ok, enough, enough!

  • she has terrible posture :S

  • The awkward moment when the top comments are the same from the same person. //_-

  • I've seen this movie twice it's awesome

  • she is HOT in this movie, loved her

  • Giants? Ok, now I'm oficially in love with you♥

  • That movie is fucking awesome

  • @hexadots no, he has a wired scense of humor but he is a good guy every actress who has been there once they go back

  • she was awesome in the movie...

  • Her role in that film was some of the most intense acting I've seen lately but damn, she needs to put on some weight. I hope she gets the Oscar.

  • @sumofparts Btw Come To Think Of It Sounds Alot Like Bruno Mars- It Will Rain

  • @alissa1900 Thanks!

  • @sumofparts Adele- Chasing Pavements; I Had To Pause This Vid And Listen To It :)

  • What's the song that Paul and the band play when Rooney Mara comes on? I feel like I should know it but I can't remember the title. Thanks in advance!

  • @sumofparts It Will Rain Bruno Mars.

  • @Waahoup Thanks!

  • @Waahoup hi thanks :)

  • UGH! every single interview i watch of this show he keeps interrupting the guest, it's annoying!

  • She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn.

  • david letterman is a douche bag.

  • She's just adorable!

  • Letterman is a crappy Interviewer

  • I love this girl's laugh. She has the cutest fucking laugh ever. :)

  • Ok, can any american's answer this for me (British so we don't really get Letterman over here), but what on earth is his appeal? I mean every clip I've seen of him he's either very rude, trying in impose himself and interrupt a guest when they're giving an answer, or comes across (in the case of top 10 lists I've seen), like he doesn't care and it's only because his mommy told him he has to, same look my neighbours kids give... so what on earth is making this man popular? any insight welcome

  • @A16AdamWalker Yea mate I think the same everytime I see him =S Don't no why Americans like him so much

  • @A16AdamWalker I think you've answered your own question. Letterman is the quintessential American. I don't think he's being rude, but like all Americans he has a short attention span, and he's eager to move the conversation along. I think he takes it to the extreme, but it can be a welcome change from hosts like Jay Leno who simply sit there and let their guests yammer on, and usually are not funny. His humor is non-cerebral but dependent a lot on sight gags, and self-deprecation.

  • She's like the prettiest and adorable person I've ever seen. And for the haters: the first movie was really awful and Noomi Rapace was ugly and rubbish. This movie was WAY better. End of the story.

  • is he stupid?! cartilage is one of the most painful piercings!

  • @MagicalWham Whatchu say?

  • she doesn't look good at all

  • Oh my Gosh! I usually can keep my composure around girls but she's really giving me a HARD time! MY GOSH, She's beautiful

  • @greenious Ew.

  • lol at 8:34

  • i really liked watching rooney mara as the new lisbeth salander. she's not like most young actresses who are awful.

  • If she explains more he's going to have a hard on XD

  • 2/10

    3DPD

    Wouldn't bang

  • AWWW Rooney please, he can't stop being James Bond...

  • the remake was not as good imho...

  • @Unik87 it's not a remake fag

  • @ZombieZifiction adaption then,, whatever

  • @Unik87 it's adaptation not adaption

  • @ZombieZifiction well excuse me! English is my third language..

  • wow, just saw the movie and I'm.... shocked! She played so well! Oscar-deserving!

  • Okay, let's say it's an adaption of the book and not a remake of the swedish original, why the FUCK does the americans make a rema... sorry... another adaption of the book 2 y e a r s after the swedish movie? Seriously, no imagination much? 2 years... It's exactly the same with another swedish movie... a vampire movie called "let the right one in" which hollywood thought: Oh we can make a remake and call it "let me in". Also 2-3 years after the original was released. Sad people

  • OMG, her english is almost as crappy IRL as in "the girl with the dragon tattoo".

  • WHERE ARE THE PIERCINGS...? LOLOLOLOLOL!!

  • @oliver1990 under her shirt.

  • @gabriellasanchezi well said.

  • She's the gran daughter of the Owner of the Giants...Now I cant get mad at the Giants for beating my 49ers...Great Movie and a beautiful actress

  • What happen with her eyes at 4:45 ?

  • Great actress

  • she is sooooooooooooo good :) she did an amazing job in "the girl with a dragon tattoo" are we going to have another movie?

  • I think, that David Letterman is on facebook

  • POSTURE!!!

  • She's so adorable

  • Letterman is still an ass.

  • Finally, someone who doesn't feel the need to butter up Letterman, Hollywood take note.

  • @soleilmh i know .. i love that she wasnt all giggly with him

  • I can not describe how amazing this girl is. Cute girl next door, beauty with light brown hair, dark but vulnerable Lisbeth or that stylish Audrey Hepburn appearance - everything fits perfectly on her. I only hope that once in my life, i will have the opportunity to meet with her.

  • This is the kind of woman you want to date and show off!! Gorgeous.

  • she's so sweet and innocent. i like her with brown hair though like in the social network. i'd love to wear her as ring on my finger

  • im gonna sound like letterman when i get old "he was james bond back in my day, did u know that?"

    grandchildren "-_- "

  • I'd love to see this! She looks like a great Lisbeth :)

  • I love her voice, not entirely sure why...but then again, I love everything about her. Classy, beautiful, talented lady.

  • HE talks too much...

  • Wayne Rooney!!!!!

  • thats pretty rude for dave to cut her off at the end when shes trying to talk..

  • @coachandgucci dave should let someone talk who actually can talk

  • @coachandgucci he's a dickhead.

  • @coachandgucci Having recently seen the movie I completely understand why he cut her off. The scene of which they are speaking of was very disturbing, brutal and as she says a pivotal and driving scene in the film. Dave was just trying not to spoil it. Brutality aside definitely a movie worth seeing.

  • at 5:47 she was probably thinking creeeeeeeper. lol

  • Comment removed

  • she reminds me of diane kruger in some way, it's weird!

  • bruno mars <3333

  • umm. can't we all just get along....seems like people rage out on youtube comments because they know nobody can see them

seriously let's stop taking ourselves so seriously....it's just a movie...have a cupcake and relax a little

  • IMO i lived David Fincher's adaptation... but you know.. i never watched the swedish adaptation nor read the first book... so

  • @p8ntbawlr210 loved*

  • you know you are pretty

  • The David Fincher version was.....disappointing. That's is all I can say.....because David Fincher is my dad.

  • @andrewjacksonbr

tell your dad that he has no idea how to choose an actress for this delicate part.

  • Haha, why was Letterman all flustered when she talked about the rape scene? I mean he's the one who asked!!

  • Great actress in the making

  • I just don't understand why American's feel the need to make their own versions of thing. I'm Irish and we watch American TV shows... There's no English Grey's Anatomy for example. But American Skins? Like what was that? It was exactly the same why couldn't they just watch the English one??

  • I wish I was her nipple piercing...

  • she left her nipple piercing in. win.

  • i want her to be my wife.

  • imma guess she kept the nipple piercing!

  • I hope they make the sequels!

  • @bbejkov there making the other 2 movies back to back

  • @ssnp Sony announced that since "The girl who played with fire" doesn't have a lot of Lisbeth Salander in the book, that they are completely re-writing both films. They will have little basis on the original books. WTF is wrong with these people? The books are what make her interesting. Now they are just going to capture the character and change the storyline. Stupid Fucking Idiots.

  • don't you think she would be perfect for the embodiment of Audrey Hepburn in some biopic? just look at her! she's so pretty and refined

  • @sentimental14 Yeah! She would! the first time I saw her I thought she and audrey looked uncannily alike

  • @sentimental14 if she were to do that it would be two time academy nominee ronney mara

  • Don't clap! Rooney Mara should like the steelers better than the giants! But how awesome is that? Both of your families own a relatively large portion of the NFL? I hope Rooney has a Polamalu jersey! LOL the movie was good though she did an awesome job.....

  • I personally think Rooney Mara did an amazing job . Noomi Rapace as well . Between the two movies I personally choose the American one mainly because Rooney Mara's character seemed to be alot 'deeper' than the Lisbeth Salander character portrayed by Noomi ... not saying its better ; i just prefer Rooneys acting alot better - just my 2 cents

  • I know, I appreciate they are doing US version cause let's face it as good as Noomi Rapace is as Lisbeth, the movie itself wasn't brilliant compare to the book (which I am a die hard fan of), so I'm gonna give this one a shot. Rooney seems laid back and chill, I like when actress don't over act in interviews.

  • @meshzy13I thought the movies were beautiful! When I saw them,I hadn't read the books,so I was able to watch them without comparing them to the books or to my own idea of what they should look like. But I agree with you;when you read the books, you realize how amazing the story is.I also think we should give the US version a shot, but as for almost every adaptations, pple complain about it saying that it's not as good as the book,so I guess it's gona be the same for this 1 than for the 1st adaptation

  • the movie was amazing!

  • what's wrong with multiple adaptations of a great book... seriously.....?

it's not like the swedish version will disappear from existence once the Fincher one comes out...

  • @PolyPrepUke thank you god somebody has an open mind and they don't sound like a bunch of whinny little girls. its ok to have different versions. Especially when you have a director like david fincher behind it. AHH FIGHT CLUB anyone?

  • @PolyPrepUke <--- I second that. I think having multiple adaptations is just a testament to just how good the book was. And keep in mind that the Fincher version isn't a 'remake', it's an adaptation of the book, the same way the Swedish version was an adaptation. Other books share similar fates, for example the various Batman adaptations, etc.

  • @PolyPrepUke You're absolutely right. I like both of them. But the Fincher version has an exceptionnal aesthetic and what Jeff Cronenweth and Donald Graham Burt did on it is awesome.

  • @PolyPrepUke No, it will not, but as with every america "adaptatoin", the advertising and cultural machine is so overwhelming that it crushes everything.

  • Holy fucking shit^^, it's directed by david fincher, you know the dude who did "fight club" and "the social network".If your going to talk shit, at least watch the movie first. who knows maybe it's better than the original.

  • @mrfixxxer118: I second that. Remaking foreign movies is crass and bugs me...but it's David Fincher.

    They're getting my money.

  • christian louboutin at 2:10 - 2:13

  • worst haircut ever

  • @bluecrabsandsushi2 its not like she wanted it... :/

  • hmm, sometimes i feel like we're giant assholes towards the rest of the world, the original version of the girl with the dragon tattoo was amazing and we ignored the shit out of it, it gets success in europe se we pimp other people's art, like we're used to, and make it big and mediocre and THEN we recognize it so we can take credit...how low can you go?. And it ain't the first time it happens, that's the ugly part; oh well...

  • @St4rdog not true, the production of this version started a month after it the original was nominated for the BAFTAs, and it got cast after the american critic circles praised it. If you want to make an argument against me that's cool but don't lie to me

  • @St4rdog Did i say it wasn't one of the biggest selling books of modern times? No; you can even check. Hollywood just pimped another movie to have success and steal credit, just like they did with "Let The Right One In". It's true, why do you insist in denying it?. Hollywood isn't kind to books that attempt to become movies, look at history and you'll se how the past tells the truth about the present. Hollywood makes money off stealing art that already succeded and pimps it for cash

  • @St4rdog Talk crap? Jesus, you're not even allowing a discussion you conceited fool. Yes, there's plenty of successfull book adaptations but just take a look at how fucking huge the book has to get so hollywood entretains the thought of adapting it, the SOLE reason they adapted the girl with the dragon tattoo was cause they were sure it would succeed because someone else did it first. Don't reply back cause i'm not about to engage in an eternal youtube discussion to prove you'r full of shit!.

  • @St4rdog yo dog stop arguing with the man you'r ejust embarassing the hell outta all the people reading, you know how you look at the youtube arguments and feel sorry for the dudes screaming at each other? well man that's you right now plus the brotha sinister has the truth on his side, he's an asshole but he is right. Just stop man cause saying the big-ass hollywood studios don't steal films is like listening at some crazy cab-driver tell you how donald trump isn't fat and ugly

  • @SinisterSkyline They do the same in Bollywood, it's nothing new.

  • @SinisterSkyline I agree with you because Hollywood only ever has money on their mind, that's why they're trying to pass SOPA. But at least with this movie, it's a different language (not everyone likes subtitles or dubbing) and David Fincher was on board to make it a quality adaptation and be faithful to the book. Frankly, it's up for debate which is the better adaptation of the novel.

  • @SinisterSkyline This is one of those rare cases where the American adaption of the book is actually better. Watch it, i'm sure you'd agree.

  • @SinisterSkyline just shut up

  • @nachbar8 No, thanks for the offer though. I appreciate the hours of careful thinking you dedicated to your comment though.

  • @SinisterSkyline I would explain why, but I am fairly certain that would be an exercise in futility. Sufficed to say, you are a dumbass.

  • @BrightEyesLover Insults, the shelter of a man with no argument and nothinb else but an arrogant outlook.

  • @SinisterSkyline Yeah, but at least I have superior spelling skills...lol. You wish me to explain why you are a dumbass? Okay.. First of all, the same company who made the Swedish adaptation made this one. Plus Fincher's adaptation(at the time he was only being talked about to direct) was already in the works before the Swedish adapation even came out. In almost every single interview(this not being one) they have talked about the Swedish adaptation.

  • @BrightEyesLover You know why i'm not a dumbass? Cause i haven't taken any of the chances you have given me to sink to your kinder garden level of communication; petty name calling is for petty people. I made a mistake spelling on a keyboard, shoot me why don't you? If that is a feature that transforms someone into a dumbass then i am one, and i bet you're one too. the problem is that they're doing a remake of a 2009 in 2011, The same as dating your friends ex girlfriend, you just don't do it.

  • @SinisterSkyline Dude, relax..the comment about your spelling was a joke. Obviously a simple spelling error does not dictate intelligence. However, calling this film a remake does. It isn't... I don't know where you are getting your information but it's wrong. This is an adaptation of the source material(the book) not a remake of the 2009 film. Had you done just a little research on the film or I don't know, seen it maybe? You would know this...

  • Comment removed

  • @SinisterSkyline As @PolyPrepUke said, there is nothing wrong with making more than one adaptation of the book. Especially when the first didn't do a very good job of staying true to the book. It's was a rushed made for tv movie made to capitalize on the success of the books.. Noomi Rapace was excellent in it and deserved all the accolades she received but the role she played wasn't Lisbeth Salander. It was a pissed off Joan Jett.

  • @BrightEyesLover I don't care about them doing another version of the movie, the problem is that they're doing a remake of a 2009 movie; a low punch, cheap trick...it's lacking in class and dignity. It's the same as dating your best friends ex girlfriend the same day they broke up. You just don't do it.
