I fucking hate david letterman he is such a dumbass! How does he get to be a talk show host? "Okay Okay stop" Bitch you brought up the rape scene and you cut her off when shes talking about it! FUCKING ASSSSSSSS
She's probably great in the movie but I can't get myself to watch it I love Noomi Rapace to much, she's the real Lisbeth Salander! The Scandivavian Power got the best of me!
What's the song that Paul and the band play when Rooney Mara comes on? I feel like I should know it but I can't remember the title. Thanks in advance!
Ok, can any american's answer this for me (British so we don't really get Letterman over here), but what on earth is his appeal? I mean every clip I've seen of him he's either very rude, trying in impose himself and interrupt a guest when they're giving an answer, or comes across (in the case of top 10 lists I've seen), like he doesn't care and it's only because his mommy told him he has to, same look my neighbours kids give... so what on earth is making this man popular? any insight welcome
@A16AdamWalker I think you've answered your own question. Letterman is the quintessential American. I don't think he's being rude, but like all Americans he has a short attention span, and he's eager to move the conversation along. I think he takes it to the extreme, but it can be a welcome change from hosts like Jay Leno who simply sit there and let their guests yammer on, and usually are not funny. His humor is non-cerebral but dependent a lot on sight gags, and self-deprecation.
She's like the prettiest and adorable person I've ever seen. And for the haters: the first movie was really awful and Noomi Rapace was ugly and rubbish. This movie was WAY better. End of the story.
Okay, let's say it's an adaption of the book and not a remake of the swedish original, why the FUCK does the americans make a rema... sorry... another adaption of the book 2 y e a r s after the swedish movie? Seriously, no imagination much? 2 years... It's exactly the same with another swedish movie... a vampire movie called "let the right one in" which hollywood thought: Oh we can make a remake and call it "let me in". Also 2-3 years after the original was released. Sad people
I can not describe how amazing this girl is. Cute girl next door, beauty with light brown hair, dark but vulnerable Lisbeth or that stylish Audrey Hepburn appearance - everything fits perfectly on her. I only hope that once in my life, i will have the opportunity to meet with her.
@coachandgucci Having recently seen the movie I completely understand why he cut her off. The scene of which they are speaking of was very disturbing, brutal and as she says a pivotal and driving scene in the film. Dave was just trying not to spoil it. Brutality aside definitely a movie worth seeing.
I just don't understand why American's feel the need to make their own versions of thing. I'm Irish and we watch American TV shows... There's no English Grey's Anatomy for example. But American Skins? Like what was that? It was exactly the same why couldn't they just watch the English one??

I personally think Rooney Mara did an amazing job . Noomi Rapace as well . Rooney seems laid back and chill, I like when actress don't over act in interviews.
@meshzy13I thought the movies were beautiful! When I saw them,I hadn't read the books,so I was able to watch them without comparing them to the books or to my own idea of what they should look like. But I agree with you;when you read the books, you realize how amazing the story is.I also think we should give the US version a shot, but as for almost every adaptations, pple complain about it saying that it's not as good as the book,so I guess it's gona be the same for this 1 than for the 1st adaptation
@PolyPrepUke thank you god somebody has an open mind and they don't sound like a bunch of whinny little girls. its ok to have different versions. Especially when you have a director like david fincher behind it. AHH FIGHT CLUB anyone?
@PolyPrepUke <--- I second that. I think having multiple adaptations is just a testament to just how good the book was. And keep in mind that the Fincher version isn't a 'remake', it's an adaptation of the book, the same way the Swedish version was an adaptation. Other books share similar fates, for example the various Batman adaptations, etc.
@PolyPrepUke The problem is that they're doing a remake of a 2009 movie in 2011; a low punch, cheap trick...it's lacking in class and dignity. It's the same as dating your best friends ex girlfriend the same day they broke up. Or like announcing you're having a baby after another couple announced their engagement. You just don't do it. If they had waited a bit more it would've been perfect but it's just a continuation of a horrible series of ripoffs, next in line: Oldboy...shit's just disgusting
@PolyPrepUke You're absolutely right. I like both of them. But the Fincher version has an exceptionnal aesthetic and what Jeff Cronenweth and Donald Graham Burt did on it is awesome.
@PolyPrepUke No, it will not, but as with every america "adaptatoin", the advertising and cultural machine is so overwhelming that it crushes everything.
Holy fucking shit^^, it's directed by david fincher, you know the dude who did "fight club" and "the social network".If your going to talk shit, at least watch the movie first. who knows maybe it's better than the original.
hmm, sometimes i feel like we're giant assholes towards the rest of the world, the original version of the girl with the dragon tattoo was amazing and we ignored the shit out of it, it gets success in europe se we pimp other people's art, like we're used to, and make it big and mediocre and THEN we recognize it so we can take credit...how low can you go?. And it ain't the first time it happens, that's the ugly part; oh well...
@St4rdog not true, the production of this version started a month after it the original was nominated for the BAFTAs, and it got cast after the american critic circles praised it. If you want to make an argument against me that's cool but don't lie to me
@St4rdog Did i say it wasn't one of the biggest selling books of modern times? No; you can even check. Hollywood just pimped another movie to have success and steal credit, just like they did with "Let The Right One In". It's true, why do you insist in denying it?. Hollywood isn't kind to books that attempt to become movies, look at history and you'll se how the past tells the truth about the present. Hollywood makes money off stealing art that already succeded and pimps it for cash
@SinisterSkyline Yeah, you're totally right. I loved the Italian version of The Da Vinci Code before Hollywood stole it and pimped it for cash. Don't talk crap. A hollywood version of the dragon tattoo was always going to happen regardless of the average Swedish version.
@St4rdog Talk crap? Jesus, you're not even allowing a discussion you conceited fool. Yes, there's plenty of successfull book adaptations but just take a look at how fucking huge the book has to get so hollywood entretains the thought of adapting it, the SOLE reason they adapted the girl with the dragon tattoo was cause they were sure it would succeed because someone else did it first. Don't reply back cause i'm not about to engage in an eternal youtube discussion to prove you'r full of shit!.
@St4rdog yo dog stop arguing with the man you'r ejust embarassing the hell outta all the people reading, you know how you look at the youtube arguments and feel sorry for the dudes screaming at each other? well man that's you right now plus the brotha sinister has the truth on his side, he's an asshole but he is right. Just stop man cause saying the big-ass hollywood studios don't steal films is like listening at some crazy cab-driver tell you how donald trump isn't fat and ugly
@SinisterSkyline I agree with you because Hollywood only ever has money on their mind, that's why they're trying to pass SOPA. But at least with this movie, it's a different language (not everyone likes subtitles or dubbing) and David Fincher was on board to make it a quality adaptation and be faithful to the book. Frankly, it's up for debate which is the better adaptation of the novel.
@Jonmad17 It's not about that. The problem is that they're doing a remake of a 2009 movie; a low punch, cheap trick...it's lacking in class and dignity. It's the same as dating your best friends ex girlfriend the same day they broke up. You just don't do it.
@SinisterSkyline Yeah, but at least I have superior spelling skills...lol. You wish me to explain why you are a dumbass? Okay.. First of all, the same company who made the Swedish adaptation made this one. Plus Fincher's adaptation(at the time he was only being talked about to direct) was already in the works before the Swedish adapation even came out. In almost every single interview(this not being one) they have talked about the Swedish adaptation.
@BrightEyesLover You know why i'm not a dumbass? Cause i haven't taken any of the chances you have given me to sink to your kinder garden level of communication; petty name calling is for petty people. I made a mistake spelling on a keyboard, shoot me why don't you? If that is a feature that transforms someone into a dumbass then i am one, and i bet you're one too. the problem is that they're doing a remake of a 2009 in 2011, The same as dating your friends ex girlfriend, you just don't do it.
@SinisterSkyline Dude, relax..the comment about your spelling was a joke. Obviously a simple spelling error does not dictate intelligence. However, calling this film a remake does. It isn't... I don't know where you are getting your information but it's wrong. This is an adaptation of the source material(the book) not a remake of the 2009 film. Had you done just a little research on the film or I don't know, seen it maybe? You would know this...
@SinisterSkyline Of course they have some similarities though, as they are both based on the same book. However, Fincher's adaptation stays far truer to the source material than the Swedish Adaptation. Perhaps calling you a dumbass was a bit overzealous but you are clearly misinformed.
@SinisterSkyline As @PolyPrepUke said, there is nothing wrong with making more than one adaptation of the book. Especially when the first didn't do a very good job of staying true to the book. It's was a rushed made for tv movie made to capitalize on the success of the books.. Noomi Rapace was excellent in it and deserved all the accolades she received but the role she played wasn't Lisbeth Salander. It was a pissed off Joan Jett.
@BrightEyesLover I don't care about them doing another version of the movie, the problem is that they're doing a remake of a 2009 movie; a low punch, cheap trick...it's lacking in class and dignity. It's the same as dating your best friends ex girlfriend the same day they broke up. You just don't do it.

SinisterSkyline 1 month ago
@PolyPrepUke You're absolutely right. I like both of them. But the Fincher version has an exceptionnal aesthetic and what Jeff Cronenweth and Donald Graham Burt did on it is awesome.
xnewtime 1 month ago
@PolyPrepUke No, it will not, but as with every america "adaptatoin", the advertising and cultural machine is so overwhelming that it crushes everything.

Holy fucking shit^^, it's directed by david fincher, you know the dude who did "fight club" and "the social network".If your going to talk shit, at least watch the movie first. who knows maybe it's better than the original.

@mrfixxxer118: I second that. Remaking foreign movies is crass and bugs me...but it's David Fincher.
They're getting my money.

hmm, sometimes i feel like we're giant assholes towards the rest of the world, the original version of the girl with the dragon tattoo was amazing and we ignored the shit out of it, it gets success in europe se we pimp other people's art, like we're used to, and make it big and mediocre and THEN we recognize it so we can take credit...how low can you go?. And it ain't the first time it happens, that's the ugly part; oh well...

@SinisterSkyline There would have been a Hollywood version of this even if the Swedish ones hadn't been made.
St4rdog 2 months ago
@St4rdog not true, the production of this version started a month after it the original was nominated for the BAFTAs, and it got cast after the american critic circles praised it. If you want to make an argument against me that's cool but don't lie to me

@SinisterSkyline Don't lie to you? This is one of the biggest selling books of modern times. Wake up.
St4rdog 2 months ago

St4rdog 2 months ago

@SinisterSkyline They do the same in Bollywood, it's nothing new.

@SinisterSkyline This is one of those rare cases where the American adaption of the book is actually better. Watch it, i'm sure you'd agree.

SinisterSkyline 1 month ago
@SinisterSkyline Yeah, but at least I have superior spelling skills...lol. You wish me to explain why you are a dumbass? Okay.. First of all, the same company who made the Swedish adaptation made this one. Plus Fincher's adaptation(at the time he was only being talked about to direct) was already in the works before the Swedish adapation even came out. In almost every single interview(this not being one) they have talked about the Swedish adaptation.
BrightEyesLover 1 month ago
@BrightEyesLover You know why i'm not a dumbass? Cause i haven't taken any of the chances you have given me to sink to your kinder garden level of communication; petty name calling is for petty people. I made a mistake spelling on a keyboard, shoot me why don't you? If that is a feature that transforms someone into a dumbass then i am one, and i bet you're one too. the problem is that they're doing a remake of a 2009 in 2011, The same as dating your friends ex girlfriend, you just don't do it.
SinisterSkyline 1 month ago

BrightEyesLover 1 month ago
