  • 200m is a fucking trek at this level of fatigue. It is a challenge to sprint such a distance.

  • This guy's a trooper. He looks like he's staying calm and being patient. Congratulations to him.

  • Imagine the pain the day after. I bet he couldnt walk for days after that. They key is lose weight. Those Kenyans don't weigh over 100lbs. They wouldn't be nearly as fast if they had to carry a bad with 40-50lbs on their back, even worse a 100lbs. I have seen people that were overweight 200lbs+ try to do it, only to get injured.

  • attention seeker

  • The people finishing at that point in the race are joggers/race walkers. NOT runners. There is a big difference.

  • Had this happen to me my first marathon only at mile 20. Had to suffer cramps for the last six. I literally could not bend my legs.

  • Saw this happen at a track meet once and the girls body shut down in mid stride..

  • "Hitting the wall" is an expression used by runners for when you "run out of gas", so-to-speak, and feel like you have no energy left and can barely think straight or walk straight, let alone run.

  • It is so hard be a long distance runner... I have experienced all kinds of discomfort.

  • What wall? It looks to me like this man is just very tired.

  • @crimsonmonieful Its a figure of speech for runners it means your body can go no further.

  • videos like this remind me why I'll never run a marathon :)

  • it take pretty much courage to continue after hitting the wall

  • Happens to the best of us.

  • this is actually the first 200m

  • lol, i was like - where the fu*k is the wall! ;)

  • @LucasSchaaf that's not funny, shut up, rat.

  • @xxellababiixx the title says "guy hits wall in final 200m", how can you blame me. Relax man.

  • same thing happened to me on my first marathon. these things happen and sometimes u just gotta say, "f*ck"

  • That's why it's important to always train properly before a marathon. So many people go in blind and don't prepare.

  • That is hysterical! Lokks like he is doing "The Robot Dance"

  • This happened to me in my very first marathon years ago. Around 25K. Your soleus and gastrocemeius muscles palpitate like it has their own pulse and your legs are shot. You can't walk or even crawl. I ended up jogging, walking, limping the rest. Only time I've hit the wall because I knew how to train after that.

  • thats a nightmare, never happened to me but can only imagine the body quitting like that, i got weak legs watching this dude

  • lol just walk?!

  • @ak47chadwell You have literally no idea how hard it is to walk after you're body shuts down on you. Like the guy on top comment said, your body says "Fuck you, im tired" and just doesnt want to respond.

  • All his white friends passed him.

  • i didnt see a wall ?

  • ANOTHER guy looking for attention, sympathy, and someone to carry him across the finish line....

  • @efreddi1 To those who has never "hit the wall"; it's like telling a color-blind person who can see the world but don't quite understand that the rainbow is a spectrum of different colors. No offense, dude.

  • @efreddi1 Bitch be trollin'

  • I thought he was shitting himself

  • as all the lazy fat asses cheer hahaha

  • I first thought that the guy at 0:28 stole his hat.. haha

  • I would've layed down on the ground and rolled to the finish line

  • @theballer04 why is ur dick hard while watching this guy struggle to cross the finish line? issues? problems? gay?.... well played....

  • HAHAHA he shit his pants!!!

  • FUCKEN SOFT COCK! RUN YOU DUMB FUCK!

  • @durianrider have you ever ran a marathon....?

  • Thumbs up if you actually thought he hit a brick wall

  • Some of you people need to remember that the first guy who ever ran a "marathon" dropped dead immediately afterwards. Hit a wall is exactly what it looks and feels like.

  • He's cramping. I get those in marathons.

  • It is cruel and stops the best athletes in their tracks. I've done Ironman distance triathlon racing for a number of years and it will stop you but the main thing to do is keep eating/drinking through your event. Proper sports nutrition throughout and before your event will slow the onset of carb depletion as all you are burning at this stage is protein.

  • If you've never run a marathon, you wouldn't understand. I've done 3 since May and luckily have never hit the "wall" but basically, your body has no sugar at all, which means you have no energy to get to your muscles. Your mind says to move but it isn't physically possible. Besides the physical challenge, it becomes very mental. Its like a car that has an engine but no gas at all.

  • I experienced the same symptoms as the guy in this video during the bar exam .

  • marò che cacchio è il "muro"

  • Pussy

  • thats not really a wall. its just your body shutting down. marathons are crazy and not really natural for humans to do so you really have to put in training to get accustomed to it. one day i will do one! once i get off youtube...

  • Body shut down, nothing worse. Happened to me when i did my first marathon. Your body literally says 'fuck you' and refuses to do what your brain is telling it to do. It's as though you can't figure out how to put one foot in front of the other. Only someone who has run a marathon could possibly know what this guy is going through.

  • @TheHowks

A lot of people sure aren't that stupid.

  • @TheHowks At what mile marker did it happen to you? I'm planning to do my first marathon in 2 months and I'm super nervous!

  • @cicirunner The last 2 kms were the worst. When you see the finish line your body suddenly begins to shut down even though you know you only have a small distance to go. It's also emotionally draining as well as physical. I cried once i got over the finish line for no fucking reason at all. Marathons humble you. The marathon must be treated with respect, otherwise it will kick you in the face and stomp on your balls while you're on the floor.

  • @TheHowks marathons are easy shit you fucking retards just need to learn how to run

  • @h3ll0xzx555 your retarded for saying they are easy i have ran 10 marathons and its still hard

  • He should have turned around and walked backwards (different muscles).

  • @owlcu Thats the only way I was able to get down the stairs the day after my first marathon!

  • Comment removed

  • @owlcu I'll remember this if I cramp up at the next marathon.

  • @owlcu no same muscles (for the most part) but different amounts of energy being used on those certain muscles. trust me if that would have helped him, he would have done it.

  • I've run the marathon and had those cramps he obviously was having he should have got out of the way right away

  • i struggle to run a mile, props to these guys

  • @SummerTheFuzzy wow...... you struggle at a mile, i run 3 miles no sweat and im 15

  • @swarley808 And I can run 20. Stop trolling.

  • THUMBS UP 4 AMERICA fuck ya!!!

  • @useruser606 Go die.

  • @useruser606 this took place in the netherlands u noob

  • @useruser606 - Wow, you suck salty ball sacks!

  • 0:36 it looks like hes starting to poop

  • lol. man you are mean to make fun of people in this situation.

  • if he could stand... he can walk! and yes i have run a marathon

  • That's not the wall, that's a cramp.

  • Hitting the wall, and body shut-down is the worst nightmares for marathoners

  • man got diarhea?

  • poor guy): hitting the wall is my nightmare, terrible!! at least the guys are cheering him on

  • that's more than bonking.. he's got some serious spasms!

  • im doing my first 13 mile run dec 4

  • @savirjack good luck!!

  • @savirjack Mate, if you're speaking of White Rock, I'll see you at the finish line! Cheers.

  • @Piaseczno1 yes sir white rock lake dec4 il be there. hope ur training is going well

  • Comment removed

  • lol prolly all slow cause all the weed they been smokin

  • He either shit himself, or he has massive cramps.

  • This is not hitting the wall, thoses are cramps in legs wich is one of the worse thing you can have at the end of a marathon. It does not happen to everyone.

  • @steverobichaud that IS the wall....running out of glycogen and your body hasn't quite adapted to burning body fat as efficiently as possibly after it runs out of that, not enough salt packets....that is the wall most people hit. Your body can only take so much. The wall is a mental obstacle to overcome, but that is not why a runner hits it.

  • I like how everyone is nice to each other in a marathon

  • how to avoid this?

  • Oh gosh! I know what that feels like.

  • Foe someone who has now run 20 marathons i know what hitting the wall is all about.

One of the main reasons is not taking on sufficient fluids throughout the race resulting in severe dehydration.

The other is going off too fast and depleting your energy reserves far quicker than if you had run at an even pace.

Once you have drunk around ten cups of water or electralite fluids you feel somewhat better but still your legs feel heavy through exhaustion and fatigue.

  • God that would be absolutely terrible i just cant imagine how that would feel

  • oh poor guy....i feel for him....

  • have you ever deadlegged yourself on the shitter and had to try and walk afterwards? I know this guys pain.

  • i like the part when the people run

  • You have nooooo clue how hard it is to finish a marathon unless you have ever ran one. Hardest thing ever

  • @runnerkid18 thank you! all these stupid comments, i bet they couldnt even run a 5k!

  • @runnerkid18 Challenge accepted!

  • @runnerkid18 try iron man next xD

  • @runnerkid18

Nope, an Ironman is harder - trust me - been there ;)

  • @HarringtonAlex you have my up most respect for finishing a Ironman.

  • @runnerkid18 not for the other hundreds of people passing him up

  • @runnerkid18 wat about an ironman?

  • @runnerkid18

    Hardest thing ever? Or not..

Try a triathlon, or a strong man competition...

  • @runnerkid18 wouldnt an ironman be harder since the marathon is preceded by a 180 km bike ride and 4km swim?

  • @runnerkid18 Marathon is tough, but hardest thing ever is exaggerated. Ultras are harder, but still not the worst. You just have to nourish properly and run correctly

  • @runnerkid18 u would have run an ultra or do an ironman at least before u form that opinion. Im pretty sure youd change ur mind on that....

  • @runnerkid18 Hardest thing ever besides my DICK

  • @runnerkid18 i beg to differ the hardest thing is to keep going.

  • @runnerkid18 ultra is harder!

  • @runnerkid18 I bet all the people who liked your comment also haven't run one themselves.

  • @runnerkid18 not the hardest thing ever. Ultra marathon or iron man race is the hardest. But I totally agree that Marathon is hard mentally and physically.

  • ok, on closer inspection it is evident that his legs have seized... I didn't really get it. I'd call that cramp. He's massaging his quads and feeling his hams. Marathons look punishing, I must say!

  • RUN FOREST RUN!

  • I've been there before....not at marathon distance..but it is the weirdest thing. You tell your body to move forward and it just does everything kind of backwards.

  • Actually, we haven't been shown enough, so I take back the showboating comment... I had thought it was the final 100m and he simply stopped running... it's the last 200m and he could have been walking for a while. The way he walked over to fence and exercised looked a bit sus... And standing in the middle of the road "look at me"... I have never seen any stuffed runner behave like this.

  • @JamesBoy4LifeMan4Luv

    What a douche you are.

Try running when you're legs shut down on you, What an idiot...

By the way he walks and stands you can clearly see he doesn't feel his legs after that marathon run.

So GTFO and go troll elsewhere.

  • @dronga I wasn't trolling. This a comments page and I give my opinion. I may be wrong, but I have the right to comment. Calling me a douche and an idiot is way over the top. The furthest I've run is about 14km, the furthest I've raced over is 11km. Won over 7km. I've no clue about running 42km. I've never heard of legs shutting down, but when I know more about a subject than another person, I still never carry on like you. Pull your head in.

  • Showboating

  • 0:24 Hands

  • Try walking backwards...trust me it works

  • "RUN FAT BOY RUN" brought me here!

  • I've only done 1 marathon so far, and I hit the wall at the start of mile 25 - it was like my body could go no further. My mile splits only went up by a minute (so I was still moving), but I empathize with this guy, because basically your body and mind shut down and it's like you can't function anymore. I've never felt more pain in my life - next time I'm going to do a better training plan and try to not hit the wall again

  • it certainly requires a lot of effort to complete a marathon and these runners reflect that as they hobble along after heelstriking for the past 26 miles.

  • Notice How He Cant Bend His Knees :XXXX

  • RUN FATBOY RUN!

  • @cammato123 Isn't that ironic.

  • hahaha hes js chillen there hhaha/... like fuck this iima sit her for a while

  • For some reason i thought the title was literal......

  • @DJoeist omg same here! lol what did it mean?

  • @DJoeist idd

  • @DJoeist So it is not?

  • @DJoeist Me too lol

  • @DJoeist i wouldnt even click this video if i didnt think it was literal

  • 1:42 'C'mon, you're almost there man.' HAHAHA

  • I can only run a 9:30 mile. I'd never be able to get anywhere in a marathon. Kudos to this guy for going (most of) the distance.

  • Wow. People are comparing 400 meters to marathons? Yeesh...

I used to be a long distance runner until I discovered the joys of alcohol and cigarettes. I doubt I could run several miles anymore, but 400 meters is nothing O_o

  • my max is 1.5km lol

  • Yer try removing the spark plugs from your car and all of fuel/petrol/gas and see how far you get. Thats the best analogy I can give without getting too scientific.

  • its salt deficiency

  • its not so much "hitting the wall" at that point, you've hit the wall, and then if you push through you whole body cramps up (like tensing up all your muscles at once) and you can barely move. all you can do is stop, stretch it out, and try to run/walk a little.

  • That happened to my cross country coach but not quite as bad around mile 20. He had to run a few miles backward because it hurt so bad. He qualified for Boston by one minute though.

  • @NinjaThatLongboards Around mile 20...most of marathoners hiy the wall there.

  • That guy is experiencing something far beyond the wall- poor guy

  • That guy is experiencing something far beyond the wall- pooy guy

  • I had a meet today for my local high school. Very little experience in the 400m (yes, I know, it's not my race though) hit the wall at the last 50m and it hurt SOO bad... I can't even imagine what you must have been going through :-/

  • @theshadow527 hitting the wall is where you run out of carbohydrates to burn for fuel so you are forced to burn fat as your only fuel source, so unless you have a diet of 0 carbs i doubt you would "hit the wall" during a 400m run...

  • @theshadow527 I fucking love that sprinters think the 400m is hard, just goes to show you how hardcore us distance runners are. its funny cause on my highschool team, the distance guy's 4x400m time is faster then the sprinters time by like 10 seconds. its sad to complain about 400m though, and you should be embarassed

  • @ajmpetdragon I agree. i'm not built for the 400, i don't know how to pace myself. i can't do it, if you can then go for you

  • @ajmpetdragon By 10 seconds, dang how slow are they running their 400m? But it does make sense, because it's impossible to sprint 400m. And I mean dead sprint, so they usually run with a fast pace and kick the last 200m or so into full gear. But if you are a distance runner, you can keep an extremely fast pace, for much longer than 400m. However, the best marathon runners most likely won't ever beat the best sprinters in a 400m. Now the 4x400m is in the same boat. but to complain... wow haha

  • @ajmpetdragon This comment is so win!

  • haha thats a charlie horse x10

  • Hitting the wall is when you have ZERO glycogen left

  • he runs like a welshman

  • poor bugger. I just counted 91 people run past him so that's gotta hurt too. I had agonizing cramp after the finish of an Olympic distance tri just 3 weeks ago, so I feel you pain.

  • @PastaGrae Congrats on finishing your Olympic tri although you can finish one much quicker than a marathon.

  • he later died at the hospital

  • I ran 12 km with cramps i both legs in a marathon and i finished, so this is nothing to talk about, only 200 meters left...

  • @Nikolas134 If you dont know what you're saying just... dont say anything. Theres a difference between your cramp and that guys cramp. I can run 10km with a bullet in me and but I could also instantly die. Think about that bitch

  • thats what happens when you do not train properly

  • Looks painful...

  • wow dude wtf...ur right there

  • @LooieENG2 None - I stick to 5k/10k and mile races and I would smoke gramps in any of those races. I have never understood the point of "running" a marathon at 10+ minute per mile pace. What is the point?

  • @sbtbfanatic the point is that some of us run (yes, run) marathons for the sake of finishing and the incredible feeling of accomplishment that comes from crossing the finish line after 26.2 miles, not necessarily for racing it in a time fast enough to brag about.

  • You guys are stupid, when it says hitting the wall it doesn't technically means hitting the wall. It just means he has mentally hit the wall -_- . have you guys ever heard of the expression "I HIT THE WALL?!" Come on now

  • I ran 50 marathons in 56 days last year, I know how he feels!

  • @MarkCooperRunsEurope That is insanely impressive Mark. Props

  • @MarkCooperRunsEurope I love your standup, Mr. Izzard!

  • @melosebrainuhoh Izzard walked most of his, 12 hrs for a marathon is not running one, fair play to him though

  • @MarkCooperRunsEurope Actually he got faster as he went and finished the last one in about 5 hours apparently.

  • That's not hitting the wall its severe cramp in the legs due to severe dehydration.

  • nobody helps ... :(

  • suck it up
