  • 1:02 And we still don't know what that icon means...

  • the wooden train dunt make the spirit train noise and zeldas room is CHANGED

  • its not a "deku clover" its the "whirlwind"

  • Obviously this video was made before the official names were revealed.

  • It clearly has references to Wind Waker. In the castle you can see a huge mosaic of Tetra and lots of Tetra's flag emblems on the carpets. Zelda is also Tetra's umm maybe great grand daughter. This sage says she knows Zelda's relatives when they first discovered this land.

  • its set a couple of dacades afterthe phanom hourglass and you even see linebecks grandson

  • Zelda is probably a great granddaughter because she's like 7-14 years old unlike linebeck 3 who's like 27-40 years old

  • Actually This game is 100 years after Phantom Hour Glass. So the Zelda in this game must be Tetras desendent. (Mabey)

  • I wonder who will be the main antagonist in this game...

  • i heard its coming out on December 8.

  • @Takutanuva100

You're one day off. It's Monday, December 7.

  • who do you think the final boss is. I think it's Vaati. I saw a description of the game and it said you have to save four wind spirits. And Vaati is a wind mage. It's not likely that ganondorf will return and bellum is death.

  • It's also weird how there is no Ganon or Ganondorf

  • i may be the only one who thinks this.. but i believe that this is a sequel to Legend Of Zelda 2 for the NES think about it... the only games that happen after the flood water receded are Spirit Tracks, Zelda 1 and Zelda 2... Zelda 2 takes place in more of a older medieval time.. while adding trains seems more futuristic

  • @XxiTz5mUrFxX

The flood never receded the setting of this game is new hyrule the place discovered by Link and Tetra. This is not old Hyrule so no this game is not a sequel to Zelda 2 in any way

  • I can't wait for Spirit Tracks to hit stores, I loved Phantom Hourglass and this looks fun, 100 years after the events of PH.

  • I also bet that there might be mroe than one Train Chart Ex. North Western Sea Chart: North Western Track Chart?

  • I will be Phantom Hourglass all over again :P. As long it doesn't have a temple you need to visit time to time again (like Temple of the Ocean King).

Reading your other comment, sounds interesting, but 'WhirlWind' sound generic. Gust Clover sounds cooler.

  • Yeah, gust clover sounds cooler, I'm just saying what it was called in the demo.

  • The Deku Clover is called the WhirlWind and there is another Linebeck type character on the train. Well, you can see text on the screen when you got hit, like Linebeck. I know this because of an e3 dungemon demo I watched.

  • WOOT CANT WAIT!!

  • I really don't understand why the train is such a problematic feature of this game, as long as the game itself plays well (&hopefully longer & more challenging than PH) it shouldn't really matter, honestly

  • like TP was any better.

  • maybe is not in a medieval world,, all the ages loses with tha rain that cover hyrule

  • I think it is before WW. There's zelda and less water and the castle and I think I see some mountains. I think that it goes ST-WW-PH.

  • i hope they come up with more music tobecause PH only had 2 songs

  • the timelines probaly a mix betwen the 1900s(because of the train) and the

    1700's (because of the castle

  • A new Zelda game is coming out? And Link rides around in a train? XD It seems a bit silly, but I've yet to play a Zelda game that I dislike.

  • ... i hope nintendo isn't running out of ideas!

  • I never seen the safe zone wow thanks!

  • I really can't say anything, this game looks bad. The Zelda franchise seems to be going down hill from games like OoT.

My honest opinion. Nintendo is really starting to disappoint me.

  • I think the game looks great. Besides, Nintendo has been known to surprise us. Remember how everyone thought the Cel-shaded effects in Wind Waker would be stupid?

  • OMG cant wait the Amazing Hyrule Bomb Cannon Train!!! The game looks pretty cool though......It seems kinda strange to have a train in Zelda though.....The Amazing Hyrule Bomb Cannon Train is Amoung us!

  • I think its cool with the train:D

Maybe next Link will ride a spaceship...

    Anyway LOZ is great!

  • Heh, I think this might be pretty cool.

Honestly, I kind of like this upgrade in movement. Fits the upscale movement upgrade pretty well.

First, there was Epona (horse) then the king of red lions (riverboat) then the ship linebeck has (steamboat) and now a train.

I honestly don't see how people didn't see this coming, though.

It can't be all horses and mining, ya know.

  • Maybe on 1:02 the icon means to regroup because it has a whistle.

  • as if you know what the world of zelda is compatible with.....

  • it's a medieval world. Trains don't exist in medieval worlds.

  • Forgot to say, I know about Zelda games because I've played all the Zelda games. lol.

  • I think this game will b good for the story line because the franchise is starting to show advances in technology

  • Maybe, it just seems to be advancing too fast now. Plus, trains are boring for a lot of people, lol.

  • Link rides a Choo-choo!

  • yes! finally! a trailer about the game! it looks awesome and im happy its a DS game and not a DSi or a Wii game cause i can play it earlier.

  • 0:37 did u find the name of the item on one of the websites?

  • No, I called it the Deku Clover because:

In Wind Waker there's the Deku Leaf (which is like a fan or a parachute), and this one shaped like a clover so I'm assuming it's Deku based (like most plants in Zelda are called Dekus) so for now I'm calling it the Deku Clover.

  • oh. but arent clovers supposed to have 4 leaves? cause on 0:37 it has 3.

  • 4 leaf clovers are uncommon/rare.

I searched Clover on Wikipedia and there is a picture that shows lots of 3 leaf clovers.

  • oh shit i always forget about that.

  • I am most interested in finding out where and when in the timeline of Zelda that this exists. It is the same cartoon like style from Windwaker and Phantom Hourglass, but the Great Sea is nowhere to be found. That would make one assume that it takes place in the Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess timeline. Interesting...

  • or BEFORE the great flood.

  • Well, minish cap and four swords did have some references to eachother...both 4 swords come after minish. My guess is this is after that little adventure in phantom hourglass, and they have found the new hyrule (thats why they left at the end of WW). So Tetra has now assumed her role of Princess Zelda

  • if u dont have a dsi then can u play this game on a lite?

  • the ds lite and dsi are the same thing arent they? (Except the dsi has something that the ds lite doesnt, i think).

  • well yea. the dsi has 2 camera's build in and can read sd cards. however, it can't play gameboy games anymre and a build in camera... i think that's a stupid idea for a gaming system...

  • yes unless it is a ripoff in dsi ware

  • I think that icon you didn't recognize was a whistle to call over your helper.

  • So this is pretty much Phantom Hourglass 2?

  • Because if Link took the sword, the seal forcing Ganon to be a statue would be broken, not to mention before he even had a chance Hyrule flooded.

  • Awesome, I was hoping for a new Zelda DS title. Especially after how much I enjoyed WW's sequel, Phantom Hourglass... so much better than the previously boring WW.

The train looks interesting, though... I hope the land is fairly large to explore and this mode of transportation, versus the boat, doesn't limit the world's size.

  • i like wind waker more than phatom hour glass because of the dragon roost island song.spirit tracks looks like a 20th century zelda to me.

  • Well its cool that they are trying to keep it look old. Just be thankful they arent using cars of any junk like that.

  • I agree.

  • A mailman? i waited a year and now he's a fucking mailman!!!.... they better a good fucking wii zelda SOON or i'll fucking blow!

  • this game looks fun. i just completed PH so i cant wait for the sequel. i think it will luanch the dsi like twilight princess did for the wii

  • I don't think that it is a sequel for PH; there is very little water and why would Tetra look for the new Hyrule if she didn't want to be called Zelda in PH intro?

  • looks alright.. but a train doesnt really fit in with zelda..

  • Awesome :) my friend told me about this today at school, so I watched this video during an I.C.T lesson :3

What do you reckon the storylines about? Is it a sequel to PH? Has the sea receded again (can't remember if it did at the end of PH...)?

  • no, it did not recede; I think that it is a prequel to WW.

  • This Game is for the DS and the DSi

  • Looks like phantom hourglass, but a train replaces the boat and land replaces the water...

  • That's pretty much what I'm getting too. Though there might be some slight differences,I'm possibly going to buy it either way because I'm a sucker for Zelda games. XD

I'm just hoping the difficulty has been increased over PH. <_<

  • Do you think this game will be primarily for the Dsi?

  • Comment removed

  • Erm you do know that the DSI is out next week, this game is still in the works, websites and the Game Developer's Conference said that it will be out Late 2009.

  • there may be a difference between it on the DSi and the DS(like GBC and GBA Oracle games).

  • I'm guessing the purple whistle icon is to call the partner back to you, similar to the whistle in Pikmin. At least some form of controlling him.

  • Nice analysis :)

I noticed that Link was wearing a train conductor uniform, but yet still wears a green tunic while in dungeons. Does this mean that he has to change clothes between dungeons?

  • that looks really cute, I hope it's a bit more chalanging than twiglight princess and phantom hour glass.

I found those games way too easy to complete.

  • lol *twilight,

    twiglight rofl

  • Yey, I love the legend of zelda

  • does anyone has an idea when it might come out ? i hope in summer or might it be coming same date with Ndsi

  • It's not going to be out next week. It's going to be out here Late 2009 (September -> December).

  • I didn't like PH much, but I appreciate every new Zelda! Now they have to announce a new Wii Game that saves my day!

  • People complaining about a new ZELDA title?

god what the hell happened to Nintendo's loyal fanbase?

i'm looking forward to this game...

I hope that the hype of all your skeptics grow by the end of the year.

  • Nintendo's loyal fanbase has been unpleasable since the NES.

  • I cant wait till this is out :)

  • If I beat Phantom Hourglass and every other Zelda game that I have played then there is no doubt that I can beat this one.

But seriously why trains? They are awesome and Link being a conductor sounds cool and all and I'm glad to see Tetra in her Zelda look again. I'm kind of confused. A new item souns awesome too.

  • Train? But Zelda isn't modern. Wtf. I'm a bit disappointed. I hope this is a fake.

  • It's not fake, it was announced at GDC by Iwata himself (look it up)

    Besides, give it a chance.

  • Zelda is Modern, and this isnt a fake!

    Its gonna be awesome!

  • If Zelda was modern they'd be using guns, dumbass. Nobody has guns in Zelda. It may take place in a thousand year timespan for all we know, but modern times use guns.

  • Well, your inmature, by saying modern you don't have to mean guns, it could be trains, like the one in the trailer.

In previous games there has also been machines and in some cases robots,

the bombchu is like a a robot....

    OWNED!!

  • Oh I'm immature for using logic.

    How ironic.

  • You still don't get it....

    Well some people can't change

  • No, you don't get it. Castles aren't used in modern times. Swords aren't, either. EXPLAIN WHAT THE FUCK YOU THINK MODERN TIMES ARE.

  • I ALREADY HAVE, but you are so stupid that you don't understand....

I fell sorry for people like you....

  • crash1you is right. this game is modern, but it doesn't have to mean guns.

  • actually, the bombchu is more like a creature with a short lifespan.

  • Ugh. ANOTHER Zelda DS game.

    Getting pretty sick of them.

And now cue the hate by the fanboys.

  • There's only 2...

  • Both of which sucked compared to the Wii Zeldas, which weren't exactly comparable to Wind Waker.

  • There was nothing wrong with ph besides difficulty, and there are no zelda games for the wii, twilight princess is a gamecube port.

  • See, that's why I've given up on Nintendo. They don't make good games anymore like they used to.

  • I agree, making games that appeal to 5-year-olds and senior citizens simply DOESN'T make for a good gaming company.

  • Link wearing a BLACK outfit? A train CANNON? Wow, it seems like every Zelda game is slowly diverting from the original game more and more...

  • the zelda games really should get in the modern times anyway.

  • I prefer the medieval charm it used to have. Zelda in modern times just ruins the series. What would be the point of using a sword? Zelda revolves around Medieval weaponry and Medieval times, and if you take that away, it simply is NOT a Zelda game.

  • The Zelda series isn't strictly medival, though. We had some "Old West" environments in TP. In WW there's an electric fan hanging from the celing in the bomb shop, and in Majora's Mask the Milk bar had electric lighting.

It's fantasy. You can throw whatever the heck you want in there.

  • I know, I just don't like the idea of Zelda getting TOO modern...

  • So the steam powered locomotive in this game makes it modern compared to the steam powered boat in Phantom Hourglass(which only predates steam powered locomotives by about 30 years)

I guess that the mine cars in older Zelda games are too modern too

  • Actually, Phantom Hourglass sucked in comparison to Wind Waker.

There was such a lack of freedom.

  • On the contrary, the first steam boats were invented as far as 100 years before the first successful steam powered locomotives...

  • this one has a bit of magic to it (note the sparkles!)

  • THANK YOU!

  • TRAIN CANNON

  • I'm going to do what i can to by this on launch day (and look for stuff), I really messed up not getting PH yet. I need to soon.

  • LINK IS ON LAND...AND HAS HAIR! I hope it's better than PH, and I hope it finally answers my questions from Wind Waker's ending (I think it comes after PH in the story.) PH was just a stretch of the cliffhanger ending WW, and about that NEW Hyrule.

  • But you're not Samuel L. Jackson!

  • OMFG! Nintendo Is Ruining The Zelda I Knew! This Is Stupid! I Frekin Hate Playin it on The Ds, Its So Inconvienent.

  • i know i hate using the stylus too but a least the controls works.

  • It better not be short as Phantom Hourglass!

  • Of course its the official new Zelda, its not as if someone could fake this. that and Nintendo actually announced it at GDC not long ago

  • problaby a sequal to phatom hourglass.

  • Probably not. Phantom Hourglass was a sequel to Wind Waker. Nintendo has never released more than one direct sequel to any Zelda game. I think that they're keeping the same cel-shaded graphic style, but I honestly don't think it will be a direct sequel.

There is evidence that points against my suspicions, for example the Phantoms, the "safe" zones as called in PH, but let's not forget it could be an indirect sequel. But wait just a minute here, this took place on land right? Didnt Hyrule sink?

  • nintendo really fucked up the timeline.i have to say it might take place after adult link destroys ganondorf in orcarina of time maybe after twilight princess but before wind waker.

  • I wouldn't say that they fucked it up, they just put it out like a 9001 piece jigsaw puzzle. I've actually figured the whole time line out (lot of free time on my hands) and it makes a lot of sense.

  • No, I have to say this appears to take place after Phantom Hourglass. Maybe on a single, large island.

  • What would you think if they put ReDeads that act like they do on Wind Waker, in that new game?

Personally, It'd be funny to see Link get raped in Spirit Tracks like in WW. also I hope they put in that Elephant esque scream ReDeads had in WW

  • So is this the official new Zelda, because I'm still skeptical.

  • It's the new Zelda for the DS. The one for Wii is still in the works.

  • i hope it be a sequal to twilight princess.

  • COOL!!

  • The Deku Clover is awesome!
