Would love to be able to do this with Rex but being a basset I cant be confident that he will come back when he is called.I have a 50/50 success rate but once he gets a scent he is hard to catch.

You live in a gorgeous secluded place Julie. I would be as happy as those dogs if I went for a walk in a place like that.

I am lucky enough to be able to go every day if choose, this place is about 4 miles from our house and I could walk all day and never see anyone. Suits me just fine.

my Hoover is a quarter hound rest labrador and the poor sod gets waterlogged and sinks and Trudy never saw a stretch of water in 3 years till she came to me and won't go near water. she's a full lab.Poppy is still young though, give her time and she'll swim this summer.

Maybe she will although 2 wet dogs is enough to cope with. She looks a bit like a black wolf to me, she literally lopes along, maybe got some German Shepherd in her?

She reminds me of a breed called groenendaal, found in Belgium or a Malinois a type of belgian sheppard
