just listened to the first verse like 10 times and i think i can comprehend like 60% of it atm, ill leave the 2nd verse until tomorrow, my brain can't handle that much wordplay in one session
Radio is too scared to play lupe stuff cuz if they did they realize tht ppl would wake up from their pointless lives and their consumerism and they dont want people to have morals so they dont stop buying beer, porn, and drugs.
@kidscottcudi so radio stations make money off porn, beer and drugs?? Radio doesnt play Lupe because most people dont listen to music like this, they do it for a larger audience so they can make more money off advertisement
@fasdffa1 the radio only plays what sells, he has it backwards, they know people these days work 24/7 it feels like, they use the rest of time to buy drink smoke w/e...its fucked up but its all part of a bigger plan imo....a plan to take total control of the population, make us pretty much seem like robots.
@zootsybrains103 You fail. You try writing "imaginative nonsense" that lupe writes, and then acome posting this kind of stuff on Lupe's videos. You must be joking or YOU'RE the one smoking the loco weed if you think think what you said is true.
im using turtle beach x41 and i can hear people talking in the background... i cant make out what they say because it is so subtle but it is there non the less... just showing the depth lupe goes to... man is good.
I agree Lupe is crazy good but I think hed agree there are plenty of other rappers with a knowledge of the english language that shows in their spitting. Although I would feel comfortable saying that no one whos made it "mainstream" has kept it up like he has.
Funny how Lupe doesn't collaborate a lot. I'm starting to think its because most rappers are afraid of being exposed as the stupid jokes that they really are. Very few rappers could put up a verse that would even come close to this shit.
this man is playing with words in ways we haven't seen before. he's so far beyond "making it rhyme" until he's loading up verses with homonyms, aphorisms, and malapropisms. This guy deserves credit not only as one of the great rappers but one of the great WRITERS of our time. If you are unable to hear it print the lyrics. this guy is doing things far, far craftier with the English language then rhyming words in time with a heavily-syncopated beat.
@bptchargers it's just a quick short line that expresses a deep truth. like this entry from The Devil's Dictionary:
"Education: That which discloses to the wise and disguises from the fool their lack of understanding."
Through learning the wise become aware of what they know and what they do not know. But to a fool, knowledge binds their existence and they cannot open their minds to imagine or explore new possibilities.
@wizkid407 A malapropism (also called a Dogberryism or acyrologia) is the substitution of a word for a word with a similar sound, in which the resulting phrase makes no sense but often creates a comic effect.
@wizkid407 its when you substitute a similar sounding word or words in for another word, usually the resulting sentence doesn't make that much sense, they are usually supposed to be funny
@chicagoo17 Flow go hard like geese erection. GREATEST LINE OF ALL TIME! But on a serious note, everyone go out and buy Lasers when it drops.. support the real artists instead of the other bullshit out there that I will not name.
@chicagoo17 You're right. Lil Wayne is fighting for the title Greatest Of All Time. but with those big words Lu shifted a phrase, shifted phase and slipped behind the ineffable. He's on another dimension while Wayne's world is bound by time.
@Turkinator69 Look at this no life troll trying to start with people to make himself feel better about himself because he corrected someone on half the message he probably didn't understand.
if u adore Lupe, then u must check out Tech N9ne' hes the definition of rhythm and All thee above, sure some of his shit might be dark and weird, buut U have to open your ears and mind to comprehend what is bein told.

He does have the skill, but im not even saying he freestyled it.
It's kinda hard to explain. He's basically telling a story, with the verses as the characters. Im sayin he's telling the story as it happens. What he says in most of the lines in the 2nd verse is actually what's happening as he says it.
Im sayin he wrote it out and set it up to happen that way.
if you thought that lil wayne was hip hop, listen to lupe fiasco and how he blends words together to tell a story that doesnt have to do with the four elements of the hip hop trap. thats all lil wayne is a hip hop trap rapper, no talent in that what so ever, i can pick up a pen and start writing about drugs and sex and money and killing people but a genius can make a song like this and still make it hot. Lupe is the Hip Hop mastermind of our era.
"Truthfully I have trouble with second verses cuz the first one is so intimidating it be bullying, picking on and instigating pointing out all the second ones limitations like you anit nothing but a intimidation." - Lupe Fiasco: Mean and Vicious
It's off the first mixtape of the Fahrenheit 1/15 mixtape trilogy. Fahrenheit 1/15 is a series of three mixtapes lupe released starting in 06. They're epic. Real masterpieces.
now that i finally heard 'mean and vicious'....damn...that guy is so talented. to me, he passed kanye...and ye was my favorite rapper. now he's a close second to Lu
lupe is one of the greatest, but talking about what he would do with biggie...what would they do, nothing
biggie would not fall off, but me might retire, and Lupe's style is similar to Nas
but i fond Nas rap is simpler and has a better flow than lupe, who uses more metaphors, the 2 are my favorite rappers, mans are too sick, they should make a track together
nas flow is all over the place thou everything else he brings is great. Lupe's entire package: Voice , Lyrics, Delivery, Enthusiasm, Cadence, Metaphors and Overall Execution of all these, dare i say it...He's Perfect!!! Which is why Christmas '05, the night i 1st heard Lupe Fiasco is when i announced him as my fav. rapper of ALL TIME!! Yea MF's, that counts everybody and he didn't commit a single crime yet or said he did one on wax. Remarkable!!!!!
dnt read this(cuz it really wrks). u will gt kissd on the nearest frieday by the love of ur life. 2mara wll b the bst day of ur life hwever if you dnt post ths comment 2 at least 3 vids u will die withn 2 days nw uv startd readn this dnt stp this is so scary snd ths ovr 2 5 vids in 143 mins when ur done press f6 nd ur crush's name wll appear on the screen n big letters ths is so scary cuz it actully wrks ths really cooll
psh if biggie was still alive he would own a magazine that gives lupe fiasco the credit he deserves because he is way better than biggie and big would have fell off
if you like Lupe you'll probably like me, i'm just trying to bring back that ol' boom bap! check my page out Rate & Comment!!!! it'll be greatly appreciated!!! Subscribe plz!!!! lmao
got damn people hop off of lupe's nuts ......u nikkas buffin lupe..............he my favorite but not the best no1 will every be the best cuz thats an opinion. but dont put down mainstream rappers because they arent lupe, u like lupe because he isnt them and he is an alternative.....they gotta make their money and their fans like that trash and thats wut they gotta do
dawg u gotta be kidding. Lupe aint even my favorite rapper, yet I can accept the fact that he is intellectually above other rappers. What other artists has fuckin characters and a storyline in his albums? Get the fuck outta here man, no1 touches this dude in pure genius. There are fuckin forums to decipher the meaning of this dudes lyrics. Who else can fuck with that? Dude is an intellectual, hes gonna be a damn writer when he stops rapping.
Who knows though, maybe this LP will be better or worse. Lupe may pull through and make this next one a masterpiece... or it could just flop. We'll never know until it happens. By the way, Shining Down was going to be on LUPend and still is going to be on it, so the fans don't even have a little as to what is going to be on Lasers. The Japanese Cartoon he has going seems to be progressing pretty good though.
I think Lupe will do all he can to make Lasers a great album, just to keep his fans (like all of us) happy, even if it wasn't what he had planned.
It sucks that he's being forced, I mean come on, you can't FORCE a creative genius to do what YOU want him to do, he has to do what HE wants to do because that's what got him here in the first place. Lupe is a master, you can't just tell him to spit out albums whenever you want, he has his own message that he needs to deliver in his own way.
I know its hard and everyone doesn't have the resources to do so, but Lupe should have just did like Jay and instead of signing a wack contract with Atlantic, he should have just continued to be the CEO of First and Fifteenth and kept producing the talent there while working on his own career. Then he could have quit making music whenever he wanted to. But it still doesn't change the fact that thats a real bitch move from Atlantic and it could jeopardize Lupe's reputation as a superb lyracist.
I am bummed that Atlantic is fucking around with Lupe and not letting him do his thing. His fans can tell that he just wanted to make LUPend and be done. For instance, in his concert when he announced that he was going to release the then named The Great American Rap Album, he sounded really disappointed. I fear what the quality of Lasers will be if Lupe doesn't have his heart in it.
I hate how they can't appreciate how much talent he has, he's absoultely incredible at what he does and all Atlantic wants to do is siphon him for money.
Every other 'hip hop artist' does whatever they can to put out a song or album at any time for one reason, to make money (that's why there is so many Blah Blah ft. Blah Blah Blah Blah songs). When was the last time you saw like, 50 Cent ft. Rick Ross, Flo Rida and Lupe Fiasco?
Lupe fiasco's biggest fan right here...it just sucks that he doesn't want to rap anymore. And i think it's even worse that Atlantic is FORCING him to do more albums then just LUPE.N.D. I mean Lazers is coming out but if he doesn't want to rap anymore i don't want to hear him not trying just making music because he has to. This is so tight because he was passionate about it. I don't want him to ruin his reputation of going down as one of the greats because they make him make more music.
I agree, who knows what the quality of Lasers is going to be. Part of why Lupe is so good is because of his individuality and his freedom to do whatever he wanted to do with his music. This in turn gave him the passion to make really, good music and be himself. Atlantic is a bastard record label for making him do this and I wouldn't be surprised if this next lp wasn't as good, as his other two, but what's new, record companies are always screwin' around with people.
Why are people even disputing this? It's no contest. I'm really tired of seeing "lil wayne is wack" comments on Lupe songs as well as other good artists. Lupe ftw.
But even after all the hatin and animosity I am doing, lets think about this logically. If you were at a club or a party that was really crazy, would you and the crowd there rather listen to Lupe Fiasco or Lil Wayne? I'm thinking Lil Wayne and that is exactly Wayne and other rappers like him are so popular. The bad thing about Lupe (and I really criticizing my fav) is that he raps about meaningful or complex things ALL the time and lots of people don't want to hear that all the time.
Hey everyone that lives Lupe, go check out Dizzy Wright and all of Funk Volume, it's a record label with some real dudes on it. None of this cash money bullshit. Dizzy is still small and needs to get some attention. The man is the new Tupac I swear my life on it. Check him out!

grewal1212 2 years ago 4
"Just one of the long rended extended metaphors of Lu's
This time I use the example of a fuse to demonstrate
How I can't lose, I would put it down but I can't
Due to the glue that I use to fuse everything together
Well I spill some on my hands and god damn!
I might have to carry this forever
Well I'm crazy to the game 'til they bury me, insane! "
Basically told everyone how to understand his lyrics if they are too stupid for it. Lu's a hip hop nerd and that'd how you get these words out of him.

rudegurl101 2 years ago
He does have the skill, but im not even saying he freestyled it.
It's kinda hard to explain. He's basically telling a story, with the verses as the characters. Im sayin he's telling the story as it happens. What he says in most of the lines in the 2nd verse is actually what's happening as he says it.
Im sayin he wrote it out and set it up to happen that way.

The Second Verse, has to be one of the best ever. the WORD play and meda's and similes. CRAZY
KosKingsOfSwagg 2 years ago 6
im gonna be short sweet and to the point:
if you thought that lil wayne was hip hop, listen to lupe fiasco and how he blends words together to tell a story that doesnt have to do with the four elements of the hip hop trap. thats all lil wayne is a hip hop trap rapper, no talent in that what so ever, i can pick up a pen and start writing about drugs and sex and money and killing people but a genius can make a song like this and still make it hot. Lupe is the Hip Hop mastermind of our era.

"Truthfully I have trouble with second verses cuz the first one is so intimidating it be bullying, picking on and instigating pointing out all the second ones limitations like you anit nothing but a intimidation." - Lupe Fiasco: Mean and Vicious
...This man is a genius.

It's off the first mixtape of the Fahrenheit 1/15 mixtape trilogy. Fahrenheit 1/15 is a series of three mixtapes lupe released starting in 06. They're epic. Real masterpieces.

PEOPLE, stop comparing biggie and lupe. two completley different flows. chill the fuck out please.
eleckson 2 years ago
lupe is one of the greatest, but talking about what he would do with biggie...what would they do, nothing
biggie would not fall off, but me might retire, and Lupe's style is similar to Nas
but i fond Nas rap is simpler and has a better flow than lupe, who uses more metaphors, the 2 are my favorite rappers, mans are too sick, they should make a track together
Someguyukno 2 years ago
nas flow is all over the place thou everything else he brings is great. Remarkable!!!!!

sparksndsali 2 years ago 2
dawg u gotta be kidding.

Sicckmaster 2 years ago
I think Lupe will do all he can to make Lasers a great album, just to keep his fans (like all of us) happy, even if it wasn't what he had planned.
It sucks that he's being forced, I mean come on, you can't FORCE a creative genius to do what YOU want him to do, he has to do what HE wants to do because that's what got him here in the first place. Lupe is a master, you can't just tell him to spit out albums whenever you want, he has his own message that he needs to deliver in his own way.
Str8Ghostin 2 years ago 2
I know its hard and everyone doesn't have the resources to do so, but Lupe should have just did like Jay and instead of signing a wack contract with Atlantic, he should have just continued to be the CEO of First and Fifteenth and kept producing the talent there while working on his own career. Then he could have quit making music whenever he wanted to. But it still doesn't change the fact that thats a real bitch move from Atlantic and it could jeopardize Lupe's reputation as a superb lyracist.
Sicckmaster 2 years ago
I am bummed that Atlantic is fucking around with Lupe and not letting him do his thing. His fans can tell that he just wanted to make LUPend and be done. For instance, in his concert when he announced that he was going to release the then named The Great American Rap Album, he sounded really disappointed. I fear what the quality of Lasers will be if Lupe doesn't have his heart in it.
Sicckmaster 2 years ago
I hate how they can't appreciate how much talent he has, he's absoultely incredible at what he does and all Atlantic wants to do is siphon him for money.
Every other 'hip hop artist' does whatever they can to put out a song or album at any time for one reason, to make money (that's why there is so many Blah Blah ft. Blah Blah Blah Blah songs). When was the last time you saw like, 50 Cent ft. Rick Ross, Flo Rida and Lupe Fiasco?
Str8Ghostin 2 years ago
man lupe go so dam hard this kid rite here and i lived on westend yo this Nemo Flii Boiz Ent in lupe is tha best. mabe one day we could do a track.
xRay08x 2 years ago
Lupe fiasco's biggest fan right here...it just sucks that he doesn't want to rap anymore. And i think it's even worse that Atlantic is FORCING him to do more albums then just LUPE.N.D. I mean Lazers is coming out but if he doesn't want to rap anymore i don't want to hear him not trying just making music because he has to. This is so tight because he was passionate about it. I don't want him to ruin his reputation of going down as one of the greats because they make him make more music.
noSwoops 2 years ago
i agree. still it'd be pretty sad to see him go. the game needs lupe. no body does it like him you know.
009JUSTYN 2 years ago
I agree, who knows what the quality of Lasers is going to be. Part of why Lupe is so good is because of his individuality and his freedom to do whatever he wanted to do with his music. This in turn gave him the passion to make really, good music and be himself. Atlantic is a bastard record label for making him do this and I wouldn't be surprised if this next lp wasn't as good, as his other two, but what's new, record companies are always screwin' around with people.

Wayne is club music.
Lupe is hip hop.
end of discussion.
researchentertain 2 years ago
Why are people even disputing this? It's no contest. I'm really tired of seeing "lil wayne is wack" comments on Lupe songs as well as other good artists. Lupe ftw.
marlymarrr 2 years ago 6
But even after all the hatin and animosity I am doing, lets think about this logically. If you were at a club or a party that was really crazy, would you and the crowd there rather listen to Lupe Fiasco or Lil Wayne? I'm thinking Lil Wayne and that is exactly Wayne and other rappers like him are so popular. The bad thing about Lupe (and I really criticizing my fav) is that he raps about meaningful or complex things ALL the time and lots of people don't want to hear that all the time.
