Sufism concentrates on spirituality or spiritual knowledge with no basis from Qur'an or Sunnah, hence the puzzling practices such as whirling and what not. If one wants to be capable of holding commands of Islamic teachings then he must stick to the Islamic teachings himself rather than find odd ways to become spiritual and then stick a fancy label on it like Sufism and associate it with Islam.
SubhanAllah sister. I think that the Islam revealed by the prophet (pbuh) to us is spiritual and mystical enough. What I mean is we do not need newly invented manners in the religion. We have so many ways that the prophet (saws) showed us how to get nearer to Allah. Like making authentic dhikr with clear proofs in Quran and sunnah, reading Quran, attending lectures, fasting, praying qiyam.

Hazrath Anas (R.A.) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “There will certainly be people from my Ummah who will attempt to legalize fornication, the wearing of silk (for males), the consuming of wine and the use of musical instruments” (Al-Jaamius Sagheer)
Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is reported to have said: “ Verily Allah Ta’ala has sent me as a guidance and as a mercy to the Believers and He has commanded me to destroy musical instruments” (Musnad Ahmad).

It is reported that as a child he would play in the houses of the wives of the Prophet (saw). when he grew up he became one of the greatest sufis that ever lived. Where was Hasan Al Basri taught? That was a sahih hadith from Sahih Muslim of Ali denying having being taught secret knowledge by rasoolullah. Yet the Sufis will claim that their Sheikhs come from a golden chain of spiritual knowlege going back to Ali. Sufis say Ali is the father of Sufism when Ali himself denied hidden knowledge. This claim in it of itself destroys the credibility of Sufism. Ali is also reported to have said in another hadith:

Sufism is built upon bogus and fabricated ahadith. Sufism isnt from the sunnah, infact Sufism is counter-sunnah because each Sufi tariqah traces their chain of spiritual knowledge back to Ali. Yet Ali himself in a sahih hadith was once approached by a man during the time he was amirul mumineen, and the man asked him if the Prophet told him anything in secret. Ali got angry and denied having secret knowledge. Yet the Sufis claim their orders go back to him. Sufism is basically based on lies.

Whenever someone points out that Sufism goes against Qur'an and Sunnah, you will be labelled a "wahabi'. Personally, I always knew that these practices were not part of Islam even before I started practicing islam or knew what Wahabi is. By the way, I still dont know who are the "wahabis" all I know that Sufism aint Islam!!!. Stick to the Sunnah of Rasoollah (sws) and dont cross the boundaries of the Sunnah, not even a millimitre.

Sufism is a method , by which u can learn how to concentrate on the spirit of Islam step by step and then ultimately the Muslim became capable of holding commands on Islamic teachings ( the Sufism is just like a school which provides u study)

@TheMakrao Salat, Dhikr and fasting are all outlets for us to connect with Allah swt. Sufism concentrates on spirituality or spiritual knowledge with no basis from Qur'an or Sunnah, hence the puzzling practices such as whirling and what not. If one wants to be capable of holding commands of Islamic teachings then he must stick to the Islamic teachings himself rather than find odd ways to become spiritual and then stick a fancy label on it like Sufism and associate it with Islam.

SubhanAllah sister. I think that the Islam revealed by the prophet (pbuh) to us is spiritual and mystical enough. What I mean is we do not need newly invented manners in the religion. We have so many ways that the prophet (saws) showed us how to get nearer to Allah. Like making authentic dhikr with clear proofs in Quran and sunnah, reading Quran, attending lectures, fasting, praying qiyam.
There is no need to twirl around listening to music to be spiritual. Islam is spiritual

@Flavia0117 Yes! islam does not need singing or dancing! Just take dua for example. Asking Allah swt and speaking to him (in any language, doesnt have to be arabic). If that is not spiritual then I dont know what is! Dancing has nothing to do with getting nearer to Allah swt (it looks more like entertainment). May ALlah guide them and guie us all Allahuma Ameen!

@Flavia0117 My concern is with such videos being posted on youtube. I think we, as muslims, need to mindful of the way we communicate our criticisms about the practices of other muslims. The string of "Is this Islam?" and this person "Exposed!" type of videos I think raise more questions than answer them. People are left more confused, and draw bad conclusions, or worse yet hold bad opinions of other muslims, let alone what non-muslims would think about such videos and discussions that ensue.

I think the person who made the video's approach could be different, but there is definitely some benefit in exposing this. The purpose is not to cause division, the division was already there to begin with. The purpose to hopefully show how far some Sufi sects go in their innovations. Because anyone who has studied a little about Islam knows music, women and men dancing to celebrate a birthday, and believing in having an out-of-body experience has no basis in Islam.

Surah ASr 103- All are doomed except those who beleive enjoin truth work hard and are patient. I get your point but you shouldnt judge our muslim brothers and sisters thats what divides our ummah, instead of judging we should try to bring them back to siraat al mustaqeem. actually one of the exception of backbiting is when you are trying to warn the ummah about a certain group/person doing wrong.
Obviously the video is a bit harsh. I think just with showing the clip everyone can see that clearing music, celebrating birthdays, dancing all together, and believing that a soul can leave the body are not from Islam. It's important to educate the muslims who do not know about these innovations and to warn them to stay clear from them inshaAllah

there are 'sufis' who aren't real sufis but basically spiritualists who's practices like blood letting are completely haram but there are real sufis who do not leave Shariah. The real sufi path is Sharia, Tariqa, Haqiqa and Marifa, you cannot be a true sufi without following shariah. Any tom dick and harry can practice spirituality but it will only be the worldly kind
