He Had A Lock on the Name: "Mr Electric"...and light bulbs being produced. instead of golf balls or silks ..a great act and he had it all his with all the following to capitalize on the routine. A great opening act for many headliners too.
they probably should have adopted at least one girl, so that Mrs R wouldn't have to be scrunching herself inside lightbulbs and jewel boxes unto the crack of doom
Well technically theres 100X the amount of magicians today, and there are some REALLY original ones like Dan Sperry and Peter Marvey. Not all are copies..
Fabulous act for its time, the glamour days of 60s-70s clubs-Im a huge fan & have their book and was really saddened by Carols recent passing but some of the effects for todays modern techno audiences wouldnt go over as well!-Easily worked out! But still an inspiration to Professionals with this act!! Thanks for posting
i seen these two magicians on a video tape not that long ago, and even today their style and energytic performance is amazing, the assistant is one of the best ive seen, shes acts like part of the act - semi magician, (not just like a hired help. which i think its meant to be more like)
Marvyn and Carol appeared in New Zealand when I was in my teens and their lecture inspired my Charlie Chaplin act and my entire career ... what amazing people and an inspiration
40? I lost count of them after half that number! Simply stupendous. Same for his updated version of "Genie in a Lamp." Thanks, again, for sharing this.
Absolutely awesome What a duo!

you clearly misunderstand what matters in entertainment. I'd elaborate, but I don't feel the situation deserves it.

9 little light bulbs go in... & exactly 26 come out (if you think differently, you're wrong. I know how the trick works.)

This act inspired me to really try to come up with an original idea for my act! I saw him at a migic convention in San Jose.

When you think of the genre of "cabaret" magic, this is one of the defining acts. I have so many great memories of watching the act as a kid.

A truly brilliant magic act! No pun intended, of course. Would you have any clips of him doing this act on The Johnny Carson (Tonight) Show?

my mother works for mr. and mrs. roy at their La Quinta home as Mrs. Roy's personal assistant and care giver,
after watching this video you can't help but admire them both for their professionalism
and to see that they are still a very good looking couple.
During this video my mother called Mr. Roy
which he told us that this was one of his
classic acts but I certainly do hope that people post more videos of him on here to
remember his legacy.

Around 6 bulbs go into his mouth and it looks like 40 come out... He talked about that in Magic magazine, it was deliberate.
