And besides, conflicts of "who's the better shredder, Paul Gilbert or Malmsteen?" go way back. Yngwie probably did this to show that he can match anything by Gilbert (minus the perfection Gilbert's computer mind) or even top it (judging by the endless unnecessary solos). And when you met Paul, you didn't obviously look like an Yngwie fan did you?

you need to know, without Yngwie, there's NO Paul Gilbert the way he is. Its very beautiful to see Yngwie doing a tribute to a guy who came AFTER him and who is his ASSUMED FAN. This puts down ANY rumors about an arrogant Yngwie. I met the guy once, he is an AMAZING PERSON since his kid was born 10 years ago. I met Paul Gilbert two weeks ago and he was SO UNLIKEABLE.
