Not only when you obtain good cover and and a low target profile while keeping good accuracy and posture with a cornershot, but two soldiers can more easily fight from the cramped space around a doorway.
It seems like a nice alternative to exposing one self to an enemy, however it seems that it would only be viable practically in a few situations.
Personally I'd employ more orthodox methods of CQB, but it's always good to have more options, especially considering the nature of urban combat.
This isn't an innovation though, the Germans had designed more advanced systems during WW2 that employed intermediate rifle rounds. It used a mirror which meant that the user wouldn't be lit up.
*Sign* Biased much? The Krummlauf was a display of innovation, where as in contrast this development over 60 years later is not.
The field reports displayed that the weapon performed well in the harsh standards of the Eastern Front, the only issues were with the effective range observed.
However the current system displayed here, does not restore such issues and introduces new problems like exposing the operator at night with the monitors' light. Far from being innovative nor inventive.
Hey pal, it's not about bias (and considering the racists sites you push, that's a joke) - just what I've read about the gun. I don't have stock in this weapon, just wrote a story and filmed it.
If it was such a great device - why isn't it used today - and this one is, widely?
those things are being used in urban environment - when you hind behind a corner the enemy cant see your face -even if there is light from the screen.
there is other usage - shooting from behind cover in open areas - but if you need cover in open area that means you already got exposed - so the light of the screen is not gonna change anything.
I'm a former IDF soldier myself and i've done quite enough urban warfare training. The most dangerous and crutial part is an enterance point. Two soldiers entering simultaniously through narrow door, "stabbing" connors and scanning for turgets - are very volnarable to the covered shooter inside or to a granade. This tool could be quite useful with that situation - but in my oppinion, only as addition to a regular guns.
1, may be 2 soldiers could carry it as a special tool - but wilst inside, the others will have to rely mostly on the regular guns. As for the question of lighting - it's kinda hard to seal the house in a Palestinuian village without the villagers knowing it. So the target will most likely be already aware of your presence. Secondly, the screen could be turned on immideatly before entering to minimize exposure. Thirdly - i belive that the light this screen produces is very dim as it is/
dont suppose anyone has a take down image of this cause i dont see how the gun works if the trigger isnt connected to the part of the barrel which turns. i just dont get how this thing can shoot
2) If I was in the room, i'd see that gun which would give me enough time to throw a grenade. It took about 4 seconds for the person with the gun to find a target and shoot...not to mention that If i had a brain i'd also move out of the way -.-. Basically, use a flashbang...
(Sigh) No - but they are for different uses. A stun grenade does nothing but go bang, and is only good for a moment when you are actually going into the room.
Look - this was a slo-mo drill for the press cameras, not a live clip from "America's Wildest Anti-Terror Squad Videos!" In other words - chill, and we're cool...
I'm perfectly calm. It was a comment, not an all out verbal assault on Israel. I saw the cameras, I just hope that thing can be used faster when it's needed. See, I realize you've been under pressure answering the same sort of questions over and over again in this video and banning people right and left, but you don't have to be cross with everyone who comes by your channel.
Oh, no no: sorry - it not that, no offense taken, nothing personal and I'm not at all cross - it's just that I filmed and wrote the story, provide all the links and then some folks wander in and just post weird stuff. As you can see - I don't ban good chats like yours, just wackos.

@besobar If it could turn for 180 degrees you would shoot yourself. You probably meant being able to turn the barrel both left and right to roughly 135 degrees from the central position.
@LeeJonB Shooting somebody through solid matter would most likely rend the bullet useless, and you probably wouldn't be able to see them in the first place. Also consider that some walls may be better kept unholey, and that there may be explosive material inside.
No, they're not, and certainly not here, ya' dumb yob. "Palestine," was the name the Romans gave to the area after dispossessing the Jews, who were there since Biblical days. The Arab invasion didn't take place until the 7th c., and the so-called Palestinians, not until the mid-20th c.
i like the idea of those gun, but they would be inacurate and the screen is fairly small to see through and verify your target with, and for me (used to mp5) it would be crazy to shoot around corners like that. but then again i have never fired one of those.
It's pretty amazing that people who play video games all day long on YouTube, think they know so much more about real weapons than those who actually have to, like, use them... jes' sayin'.

Oh, where to begin with such imbecility: Not "be creating weapons," so Jews can just roll over and die for you and your ilk? Depraved child killers are your freedom fighters out there in the Virgin Islands, huh, fanboy? The "point" of "attacking" Lebanon was to respond to 4,000 missiles fired into Israel that killed over 160 civilians and soldiers, and the kidnapping of three soldiers in a border raid into Israel, nitwit. Anti-terror your ass might well be a good thing, in the end.
They made something like this in WWII. It was a curved tube. It wore out eventually and the bullets went through, and straight ahead. Not really that innovative.
This is not the same idea, at all, actually, Please read the comments before commenting.
The German weapon was never extensively used due to problems with barrel distortion from heat, rendering it useless. I understand that the FBI was looking into a similar device in the 1960's. The thing with the Cornershot is that it works with many pistols, and the camera can also work remotely with a fire coordinator viewing several gun cameras at once.
The cornershot is to see if anyone is there and to take them out stealthy. I dont think they will ever come up with a grenade with a camera attached to it. That would be a waste just to see it blow up. Plus would cost to much.
mmhhh looks a little bit like the german rifle MP43, called Krummer Lauf. It was a device which featured a special clamping apparatus that enabled the barrel to be fitted. muzzle and bolted into place. Relatively heavy and unwieldy, the first Krummer Lauf design sported an actual barrel length of nearly 19 inches. The barrel's diameter was just under an inch, bored and rifled in standard armory fashion, then cold-bent to a 90-degree angle. .. copyd from:
Good note. However that weapon was never extensively used due to problems with barrel distortion from heat, rendering it useless. I understand that the FBI was looking into a similar device in the 1960's. The thing with the Cornershot is that it works with many pistols, and the camera can also work remotely in parallel, wirelessly.
I always thought that those extended 30+ round mags for handguns were pointless, but now I see that you pretty much have a semi-auto submachinegun with the cornershot and those extra rounds could be useful since I can't imagine how they would reload that thing.
The corner Shot was Developed so specially in hostage situations, they would have time to think and analyze the situation, thanks to the camera on it. It's also very usefull in Street Fighting etc.
Knight - get a life. It was just a demonstration for the press when the weapon was released. They were allowing the photographers time to set up shots, and follow them.
I'm sure you move much faster with your video games, right?
1. even hizoballah say golani is very good and they traind to be in the same level like golani.
2.golani is out "normal" unit. nothing spcieal. just great soliders. and the hizoballah said they are bery dangerus. abot normal unit ! which kick ass and killed 200 hizoballh terrorsits.
out spcieal force are the best in the world. out tzanhanim beat the usa marins. and the tzanhanim ar not elit unit, just spcieal unit. bring it on u idiot.
Well seems after IDF fucked Hezbollah in BAALBEK, They'll be afraid of their own shadow now! That's what happen when small bad boys play with matches - They get burned!!
Another favorite quote - "If you go to sleep with a rocket don't wonder if you wake up with the ceiling on top of you"
drzaiusman The only one that is ignorant is you. How do you know that the "civilians" are innocent or for that matter, how do you know they are if fact civilians since hezbollah does not wear uniforms and hides in civilians homes to launch their rockets.
You are blaming the wrong people for the killing since Hezbollah's stated goal is the Kill All the Jews
The Israli government is just as bad, if not even worse than their enemy. You want barbaric? Barbaric is launching missles into suburban communities where hundreds, even thousands of civilians live work and play. Barbaric is launching hellfire missles into marketplaces to do something a small special forces team or one single sniper could accomplish. Barbaric is knocking down houses and uprooting entire families. You want barbaric? Turn on your news and look at what is happening to Beruit.
I would think that the real barbarian is the extremist who USES CIVILIANS as a shield. If he can put the life of
helpless mothers & infants above his own, then he must be killed like a dog on the street. THAT is barabarian to me. The IDF does not put infants on its tanks before marching, so that hezbollah do not fire at them.
you will not convince this smelly raghead. They are so jealous and have a hard time living with the fact they are losers. They always need a scapegoat for their shortcomings. They are not only barbarians, they are big pussies.
All Israel needed was a SpecOps team and paitence to get what they wanted. Instead, they are killing hundreds of people and hardly accomplishing anything more than creating more problems. But I wouldn't expect ignorant people like yourself to understand.
All the tchnology in the world will not help, the more you agress people, the more hell you will recieve. Let me see how effective your gadgets are in the real warzone, where this room would have already blown up in your face and killed everybody with it.
Nazis were not suicidal/homicidal sociopaths hell bent on reaching the 'holy land'. The same can not be said for the people that these Isarlis are facing.
As a soldier, I'd be far more terrified facing one religious extremist than I would be facing a group of genoicidal power hungry madmen.
> As a soldier, I'd be far more terrified facing one
> religious extremist than I would be facing a group of
> genoicidal power hungry madmen.
Does not matter. As a soldier I am just supposed to do my duty. As for the religious extremists, they have been around for the past 1400 years ago. Its a siege mentality. There cannot be anything done about it. No

davebender 3 years ago
It's the same concept, being able to fire around a corner. This is merely a better implementation.
unnamednewbie13 2 years ago
Anti-Terror tool? It's just a gun that shoots around corners, that's cool enough already, no need to "sugarcoat it".
Anyway, awesome video.
ElArabDeMagnifico 3 years ago
this gun has like no stopping power. Its just a piece of metal with a pistol attached to it.

whats wrong with a grenade?
cammo1986 3 years ago
It will kill the right and the rong one?
johnistheNonChrist 3 years ago
The cornershot is to see if anyone is there and to take them out stealthy. I dont think they will ever come up with a grenade with a camera attached to it. That would be a waste just to see it blow up. Plus would cost to much.
twodaysthere 3 years ago
Jip thats right .. the german weapen offerd a good chance ( after a 100 shots) to blow up your own face. it was more an improvistation
Phygos2008 3 years ago
mmhhh looks a little bit like the german rifle MP43, called Krummer Lauf.

The thing with the Cornershot is that it works with many pistols, and the camera can also work remotely in parallel, wirelessly.

its for close quarter combat... Its not designed for medium to long range engagements.
toniodmonio 4 years ago 2
Far distances??? you DO know that this is only a pistol, right?
GordonIngram 3 years ago
It also can be equipped with a submachine gun, so you can shoot terrorists with your UZI, without turning a corner!
yankees9494 3 years ago
It's also capable of carrying submachineguns, assault rifles, and even grenade launchers.

I always thought that those extended 30+ round mags for handguns were pointless, but now I see that you pretty much have a semi-auto submachinegun with the cornershot and those extra rounds could be useful since I can't imagine how they would reload that thing.
Liist 4 years ago
The clip reloads like any other handgun; the grip is held in the device by the sides.

But if you get used to it it will for sure save some officers lifes
Nayrakis 4 years ago
The corner Shot was Developed so specially in hostage situations, they would have time to think and analyze the situation, thanks to the camera on it. It's also very usefull in Street Fighting etc.
andrem93 4 years ago
Way too slow. And they are just standing in the doorway too long and not moving.
KnightChatX 4 years ago
Knight - get a life. It was just a demonstration for the press when the weapon was released. They were allowing the photographers time to set up shots, and follow them.
I'm sure you move much faster with your video games, right?

drzaiusman The only one that is ignorant is you.

It was not sarcastic.

wiseguyin 5 years ago 2
The Israli government is just as bad, if not even worse than their enemy. You want barbaric? Barbaric is launching missles into suburban communities where hundreds, even thousands of civilians live work and play. Barbaric is launching hellfire missles into marketplaces to do something a small special forces team or one single sniper could accomplish. Barbaric is knocking down houses and uprooting entire families. You want barbaric? Turn on your news and look at what is happening to Beruit.
drzaiusman 5 years ago
Duh.
Think about it.
wiseguyin 5 years ago 2
you will not convince this smelly raghead.

Nazis were not suicidal/homicidal sociopaths hell bent on reaching the 'holy land'. The same can not be said for the people that these Isarlis are facing.
As a soldier, I'd be far more terrified facing one religious extremist than I would be facing a group of genoicidal power hungry madmen.
drzaiusman 5 years ago
Let me correct myself. Nazis were homicidal sociopaths, but they were no where near the league of religious extremists.
drzaiusman 5 years ago
> As a soldier, I'd be far more terrified facing one
> religious extremist than I would be facing a group of
> genoicidal power hungry madmen.
Does not matter. As a soldier I am just supposed to do my duty. As for the religious extremists, they have been around for the past 1400 years ago. Its a siege mentality. There cannot be anything done about it. No
wonder there is only one "cult" that breeds them.
wiseguyin 5 years ago 2
I suggest you do some research on cults and extremists. You're in for some surprises.
