  • Is it sad that I watch this over and over and over when I can't reach you on Skype??? Stalker much??

  • yay! i should be back on the internets and skype for reals after i meet my deadlines on the next film. but we will talk sooooon!!! i miss you! xD

  • I loved the Star Trek movie SO much! I've basically been a Trekkie since birth. Well, I exaggerate a bit, but it's been a LONG time. It was one of those shows for which I would drink out of the side of my mouth to avoid getting my bottle in the way. Yeah, THAT early.

  • ahahah yeah, i was actually a late bloomer... didn't get REALLY into it until my mom and i started watching Next Gen. THEN i went back to TOS. i love all of it!

  • Star Trek (2009) was friggin awesome man. Zach Quinto was good to stare at even with pointed ears heh!

  • agreed on both points. i've been thinking i want to see it again on the big screen. sigh. crossing fingers they'll do some kind of pre-oscar limited re-release maybe?!? well i can hope!

  • I'm waiting on Heroes season 4 for more Zach/Sylar. Next is Star Trek on dvd. Boo yah :)

  • Also you owe me kisses.

And now I'm going to watch it again, see your name in the credits and geek out.

I feel like I should leave another comment after this one apologizing. If you're at all like me, you get excited about new comments. So I am sorry if the fact that all three of these are from me dampens the excitement.

  • 1. yeah i was nervous about how it would all come together, too, but was sooo satistfied (obvs). 2. split infinitives, oy! i think the only reason we're not allowed to go there is latin was jealous english could do something it could not. 3. yeah i get excited by comments, too and getting three (in a row!) from you doesn't dampen the excitation, it increases it! oh, and mwah! thks for watchin xD

  • One more thing... IT'S "TO GO BOLDLY" AND THAT HAS MADE ME ANGRY SINCE I STARTED WATCHING THE SERIES ARRGHHH!

-I knew I was an English nerd the day I saw "...to boldly go..." on a t-shirt and saw the split infinitive first-

  • As a trekkie, this movie worried me right up until it began.

I thought it was done really well, there were shout outs to us hardcore fans (the anonymous crew member in a red shirt dying) and so much to bring in a new generation of fans.

I loved it so much. So much I wanted to see it again the night after it came out.

  • The test was to create a Star Trek film that had to:

Breath life into a dying franchise, make enough money to keep it going by appealing to the general public and not piss of [the majority of the fanbase.

Making this movie was the Kobayashi Maru.

Abrams passed! (Even if the time travel plot device was "cheating")

  • haha, well said!!

  • this is NOT the star trek universe its 90210 trek, congrats your simple

  • glad you enjoyed it! i'm excited by the idea that this movie is introducing the star trek universe to a whole new generation of fans. yaay! XD

  • I saw it again and saw your name in the final credits! I totally cheered with my friend! YAY!!

  • My husband and I love the Star Trek movies and series. You have sold us on going out to the theater to see it on the big screen. Star Trek or Star Wars are the only movies that my husband will go see at the theater.

  • it's definitely a "big screen" movie! i hope you two have fun at the cinema! :)

  • Im not really a star trek fan but im curious what is you all time faviourte episode ?

  • episodes or movies? my favorite tv episodes tend to be from The Next Generation. i think for today i'll go with "Inner Light". great sci-fi story, great human story... (sigh - i wish the TNG crew had received better treatment in the films; at least there was First Contact!)

  • i adore you

  • the feeling is mutual!!

  • I'm not a Trekkie, but I was blown away by the perfection of it all. The effects, the acting, all of it. Great review! I have to go see it again.

Wow, the historical figure reference was a perfect example of what the characters felt like.

I wish I could get my son (who is 18) to watch it, but he's stuck in the Star Wars Universe. I created a monster there.

    ♥ the kissy face! LOL!

  • haha, kissy face is automagical; i try not to make it, but it just happens anyway! i'm sure your son'll find his star trek groove someday. in any case, nothing wrong with lots of star wars love til then! yay movies (and tv and games and books and...)! ;)

  • You're usually so "low-key" about the movies you've worked on (Star Wars, Iron Man, etc) that to see you so enthusiastic and positive is exciting! It reinforces my intention to go see it tonight. I was about to call you to ask how you felt about this one now that it's out, but I now have my answer! BTW, did you get in on the credits, & where if you did.

  • hi, you. yup my credit's under digital artists in far left column. blink and you'll miss it! i sure hope you enjoy the movie. you're the one who gave me the scifi bug, ya know?! hugs :)

  • Never will miss it; we cheer every time!

  • aw, thanks for sticking around for the looong scroll! i miss you! if we had transporters, i'd visit you often... cheers

  • nice review!

  • thank you for watching! (and btw thks also for commenting; i checked out your channel and your music is amazing!!)

  • fantastic review!!!!

So so so so so AWESOME :)

  • wow!! thank you :)

  • why didn't nero just go back to romulus and prevent the future? how did nokia survive WW3? when did kirk become a thrill seeker rather than a risk taker? star trek was never cool in order to be '... cool again'. it not being cool originally was why this movie was made possible. keep it real.

  • 1. nero was a proactive "let's attack the source" kinda guy? OR he was in cahoots with screenwriters from the past! 2. agreed; product placement that obvious only belongs in austin powers. 3. kirk's on a journey and we'll see him mature from one to the other (fingers crossed) 4. one of my faves is The Motion Picture, so i dont need no stinking "cool" :) thks for watching, cheers!

  • You actually worked on it?! Holy shnikies! That's pretty awesome. Nice review buddy!

    -Berto

  • if it had been a comedy, i'd have rated it a whole clip of giggle bullets (using your rating system of course).

  • Saw it twice. Like BATMAN BEGINS and CASINO ROYALE, STAR TREK managed to keep what was iconic while giving us something new to love. I'm thrilled that so many people who are not into TREK are loving this film.

  • hear hear! i i haven't forgotten The Five vid btw... :)

  • I agree with your review 100%. I was never a huge Trekie, but absolutely loved this movie. To me, this will be this summer's Dark Knight. I loved the art, design, FX, characters, actors, everything. It had the right amount of action, story, & characterization, and also laid down an incredible groundwork for either a sequel or a new series. I love how they tied things together with the existing universe. Just amazing stuff! Amazing! Great review!! I watched it all the way through and it flew by.

  • Jeeze. Get a room.

  • If you were any other man, I'd kill you where you stand...

  • get a room
