@MrCriticOfAll The jet was a Vought F7U Cutlass one of the most dangerous aircraft the USN ever had. Some said a staggering 40% were lost in peacetime accidents others say only 25%. I think this crash was on the USS Hancock in 1955. Not surprisingly the pilot was killed but surprisingly the desk crew were unhurt.

In its short service career it is reckoned 20+ Cutlass pilots were killed.

Excellent video. I like the chorus in the background. You forgot to mention the Yorktown Class carrier at the start. Probably the Big E, but maybe the CV 5 Yorktown. The Wildcat indicates it was early in the war and hull paint on the island was solid, so not the Hornet. Those Wildcats didn't look like they had their two-tone camouflage, though, so maybe it was just before Pearl Harbor.
