Ok, I watched your Uru LP up to the point of the Expansions. Should I have watched the Expansion videos as well, before watching this or would this be fine?
Concerning the position of the dagger, I think that it could have landed on its tip due to aerodynamics. The dagger fell with a little spin to it, so the tip may have followed the momentum to put itself at the bottom of the dagger, causing the least amount of air resistance.
Sorry if this sounds confusing, I'm not great at explaining these sorts of things.
I find it interesting that there was no seismic activity during the cutscenes, even though they happen rather constantly (and, seemingly, rather consistently timed) on this world.
You didn't mention that Esher also did the Grower 'linking with out a book' trick after talking to him. I wonder how he did it? O.o Thought only Yeesha could do that...
@llloyd4 Look at how Esher Links. He always places his hand on a dark cloth-like thing on his clothing. That is actually a skin from a Bahro, which allows him to link without a book. He "took" it from a Bahro.
Also, This way is how Bahro link too. If you look closely when a Bahro takes a slate, they place their hand on their chest, and then link.
@ProkoLokor It *is* unfinished. What we have is a fraction of what they planned to do. See drcsite [dot] org, Restoration Project for a glimpse of their pipeline.
At 7:20 the picture your looking at, you say you don't know what it is of. I think it may represent when Yeesha got the tablet. In the middle of the picture, you can see the tablet(the yellowish circle), it's restrants, (the curved lines) and the Bahro.
One of the main problems I have with Myst V is that unless you've played Uru, you really won't understand half the stuff that's going on. And that's the problem, it's that Myst V relies too heavily on Uru and not enough on the other games.
I think if Cyan spent a bit more time on this game (if I remember correctly, it was only a year?), it could have been a much better product. As it is, it feels like an effort to just use up all the planned Uru Live content. Honestly, the Ages themselves feel way too much like a glorified marketing demo for the most part.
This was going to be part of Uru Live. There is a reference to Esher in Uru (though unnamed a memo mentions a member of the DRC meeting a D'ni survivor who can be inferred to be Esher). Which is why Cyan needed to scramble to get a new plot started when GameTap had Uru.

at 05:27 when you see the Tomatha picture, the lizard in the corner. Is that the lizard you see in Myst IV? And if so, the Bahro sure like details.

I don't really like Uru and so this game. Myst from I to IV I like more, Uru just feels for me like unfinished Myst game as an add-on for The Sims.

You probably know this, but there are 12 Yeesha journals. Not 16.
Just saying.

Like I said, they should've called it Uru 2. :-) I also believe parts of Myst V are based on content that was originally planned for Uru Live.

@Dilandau3000 As long as there are no sequels published by EA, everything's just fine ;)

If you don't pick up the camera and journal in K'veer, they appear on the crate at 8:52
