This is a rocking song. I fell in love with it when I first saw it on the DVD. We all have to evolve and this is the evolution of the elcetric mud album. We have to streach to learn.
...feel like having found real GOLD in the YouTube valley. Know this song in almost all shapes...this interpretation is one of the absolutely best I´ve ever heard. Moreover...all those guys in the video are burning cool...the EMCs should think about doing more blues classics in this unique way!!!
lota people dnt realise that chris thomas king was combining rap and blues in the 80's, nearly 20 years b4 this was made, lol, but this stil kicks a serious amount of ass
they did do more songs, they did an album called Godfathers and Sons, but its somtimes confused with one from the 70's called fathers and sons, lol, duno why, 10 points to whoever finds out, lol
This is a band that got together to record an album called 'Electric Mud' with Muddy Waters on vocals in the early 70s.
They also recorded an album for Howlin' Wolf called "This is the new Howlin' Wolf album. He doesn't like it. He didn't like his electric guitar at first either." (or something to that effect).
There is also a great movie on the making of this record, which talks about the link between blues and hip hop. It's part of the Martin Scorsese produced blues series.
Great that some ppl know this song and so much about it ;) I didn't know, they did an album for Howlin Wulf. Do you know if Muddy liked this music? I remember so far he did. Searching for the dvd box now, and upload the making of from this vid. It sounds a bit different in that. will come soon! Anyway, thank you very much for your comment.
It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I seem to remember them saying Muddy DID like the album. Wolf, however, didn't.
What you see in this video is a remake of the whole album. I haven't been able to find a copy, but if you hear of one, let me know. I'd love to hear the whole thing.
aparentl muddy didn like the album because his own band cudn play it live, hes sposed to have sed its sound like a cat screaming. An aparently howlin wolf never wanted to do it but did it as a favour to marshal chess for his cadet concept label
@Lizardking877 i would guess muddy did because i have only heard about howlin wolf not liking the howlin wolf album (the one with the electric mud band). i actually think the album isn't that bad. it's pretty good. deffinitely worth a look
Yes, you can see it on the Views.. not many people know this song (unfortunately!). And it is the best combination between blues and rap and maybe the only (?), i don't hope so.
that's what it izzz, pass it on to the next generation!!
This dvd is of great importance!!!! thanx

And the Rolling Stones recorded an album in this studio before. A blues album... forgot to say that ;)

Chuck D (from Public Enemy) - 1st rapper
Common - 2nd rapper
DJ Johnny Juice - turntables
Rahzel - vocal scratching 'I'm a man'
?uestlove (from Roots)
Cream of the crop on the rap scene.
Just seeing all these guys together makes you know this is gonna be a very good song.

definitely one of the best songs I've ever heard. Seems to me like not to many people know about it though.
Also a very good movie (Godfathers and sons) - great documentary about the blues music.
Thanks for the upload.
