Miep Gies was a wonderful woman. Hearing the Franks' expierience during the holocaust is a very sad story. I watched all of the " Dear Kitty"'s and i realized how important Miep Gies was to the Frank family. She may say she is not a hero, but she is in my heart

I have a personal letter from Meip Geis she wrote to me in 1990. In it she talks about her role in their lives, how she didn't see herself as brave or special, She also speaks of her personal relationship and perceptions of Anne during the hiding. The letter was typed and signed by Meip herself.
It blows my mind that she is still alive today, at 99 I believe? She is a living part of history, and a very heroic woman. Someone who I would be honored to cross paths with someday.
