To the bunch of simpletons who are bashing the crowd for being too quiet: Realize that, by the time Bryan Adams started, these people had been in the stadium for four hours and seen a dozen other artists already. And the concert went on for ANOTHER 10 hours after that!

There was a crapload of artists in Philly that day. Most people don't go nuts for 14 hours straight at a concert featuring so many artists of different musical genres.

@scorpy1971 That's not LiveAid1's fault. They didn't make any real efforts in preserving the sound since Bob Geldof said that the concert would never be aired again. All recordings of the concert where supposed to be destroyed. So they didn't see any reasons to put effort into creating a great sound for a concert that were supposed to be forgotten. They didn't take it as seriously at the BBC though and that's why the sound is way better there.
