  • I would be worried about the mouse injuring the ferrets in some way. =/ I would stick to pre-killed/frozen mice.

  • I wish you would put something in the tub that would eat those stinking ferrets! My wife has one and I wish it would just die! Stink'n little bastards!

  • Comment removed

  • oh I feel bad for the one who isn't getting the mouse then wants to leave the tub haha ;)

  • i love your ferrets!!! i have four who are always lazy but sometimes they come out to play in the morning and go crazy!!! and they live in our house not a cage :) but there SO adorable!!!

  • Way to go! Happy to see other folks allowing their ferrets to be real ferrets and gain the perfect compliment of nutrients! Kudos to you!

  • @shiphrahpuah Are you fucking stupid or what? Why do you feed the poor mouse to your ferret when you can simply boil some chicken meat and chop it into small servings and FEED THAT to your ferrets? What is your problem in the head that you like to watch a mouse being slaughtered when you can feed them SOMETHING ELSE? Psycho!

  • @DIHORY its a mouse get over it ferrets are trained to hunt rabbits its fucking nature

  • @DIHORY Boiled chicken is not healthy. Unboiled whole chicken (feathers and all) would be, but that animal is too large a prey animal for me to feed; it would have to be something smaller like a mouse. AND if you read my note to the video you would see that I no longer feed live prey, only frozen mice/quail/rabbit. You have a foul mouth.

  • @shiphrahpuah Why isn't boiled chicken heathy? I don't get it.

  • @DIHORY Because boiled chicken would have cooked bones, and cooked bones can splinter in the throat killing the ferret.

  • @shiphrahpuah hahahaha how about defleshing the bones, genious? Ever tought of that? My ferrets LOVE their boiled chicken legs , chopped into small pieces and yes!-no bones!

  • @DIHORY BECAUSE the bones are good for their teeth and jaw bones, there are lots of benefits for animals eating raw food. If it doesn't have to be cooked why should I?

  • @shiphrahpuah The issue with cooked bones is that the brittle points can shred/lacerate/puncture the intestines, rather than choke the ferret. Little raw mouse ribcages and vertebrae also pose the risk of intestinal damage. Domestic ferrets can't survive in the wild, so why is a wild diet so beneficial??

  • @kaeso100 A "wild diet" is beneficial because ferrets are obligate carnivores. This means they only need meat, bones, and organs in their diet. Cooking the meat at high temperatures destroys much of the nutrients which then have to be supplemented back in. The fruits, vegetables, grains, corn, ect. that are put into kibble are fillers that have no nutritional benefit. The real issue with cooked bones is that they become brittle when cooked whereas raw bones are soft, flexible, and digestible.

  • @bluemoose08 The ferret will usually consume the grain/seed/forage matter in the digestive system of the prey. That digestive matter has no nutritional value either?! As ferrets have been domesticated for so long, we have no idea of the variety or amount of 'wild prey' for a natural diet. Raw meat and organs can supplement a high quality dried food, without feeding live prey. Live prey is neither fully justified or humane.

  • @kaeso100 Actually many ferrets will avoid the digestive system of their prey. Most of mine usually eat around the intestines and leave them. The only purpose indigestibles like vegetables, grains, and fur sever is to help "move things along", much like fiber for humans. Certainly whole prey doesn't need to be live to be beneficial but just as it is your choice and right to feed kibble, everyone else has the right to choose how they feed their pets even if they choose to feed whole prey or live.

  • @bluemoose08 So," indigestibles like vegetables, grains, and fur sever is to help "move things along", much like fiber for humans" yet,"The fruits, vegetables, grains, corn, ect. that are put into kibble are fillers that have no nutritional benefit." Therefore you consider components that promotes gut movement to be beneficial, but also unbeneficial to a ferrets diet due to poor nutritional value?! Make up your mind. P.s I could feed my dog stray cats, would it be a humane or correct choice?!

  • @kaeso100 Nutritional benefit means the animal gets nutrients when it digests the food. Indigestible means the substance cannot be digested. The problem with most kibbles is the amount of indigestible materials. Ferrets need much less indigestible ingredients than most kibbles contain. Too many indigestibles leads to nutritional deficiencies and can cause a blockage. You have the right to feed your pets whatever you want and like it or not, so does everyone else.

  • @bluemoose08 People may feed poor quality food, such as mass produced in-bred live mice, in order to feed domesticated ferrets. If you wish to continue the pros/cons of comparing the nutritional comparisons of a live/whole prey vs alternative diets to a pet ferret, then please message me fom my homepage. I have no desire to debate any further on the comments section of a video I disagree with. Hope to hear your opinion.

  • any thoughts on feeding stuff like raw chicken, beef, pork, etc? I don't think I could feed small rodents

  • @hizumukoe I don't think beef or pork should be on the menu unless its occasionally for a treat. Thats too large an animal and they would not eat it in the wild, plus its not nutritionally complete as its only sections of the animal. Same goes for chicken- unless its the entire chicken. You could also feed quail and rabbit, but again if you only feed parts of the animal you will have to include kibble in their daily diet. now I feed my ferrets outside in their playground-its easier to keep clean

  • @hizumukoe Raw diets, rather than whole prey, can be fed to ferrets. Just keep in mind that the diet needs to be 80% meat, 10% raw bone, 5% liver, and 5% other organs. This emulates the proportions in whole prey. Large animals like cows, chicken, and pigs may not be a ferret's natural prey but they're still much healthier than kibble. Check out the Holistic Ferret forum for great info on whole prey and raw diets for ferrets.

  • what`s better? breeding or buying mice....how many time do you feed them mice?

  • @dxbemogirl They can eat a few mice a day, but I give them one a day along with kibble or rabbit chunks. I think buying frozen is better, it eliminates any parasites that might pass to the ferrets, plus I don't like mice, so I couldn't breed them... But if you like mice I would breed them, it would save money in the long run (I would think).

  • Do you feed them male or female mice? I know it's best to give snakes male mice because they don't bite (or something like that). And do you give them mice to eat every day as their base food (if so how many) or do you feed them kibbles/ferret food as well? I'm going to be getting a ferret for my birthday and would like to know.

  • @Narutosims123 I buy the mice frozen then thaw and feed. This was the only time I fed them live mice. I have also learned feeding them frozen is best because all the parasites are killed in the freezing process. They mostly eat kibble, I try to give them a mouse a day. Rabbit is a treat they really love, I buy it cut into chunks (with bones of course) from the local butcher, I give them this twice a week or more.

  • @shiphrahpuah Thanks!!!

  • there 2 are so sweet

  • well its there instinct...my dad always wanted to try it wid my ferrets but i said no... but now im curious to see what they do...??? AND I DUNNO WHERE TO GET CHEAP MICE!!

  • i totally agree with you

    yes its indeed a problem

standard prices fpr mice are between 2.50 and 4 $

  • @ferretsaresmall Thats the issue. Try finding snake people and buy in bulk then split up the mice. I used to breed my own to know that they were the healthiest.

  • youtube "ferret studies"

  • ya know it really doesnt matter...in the wild that is what they would feed on...she is not sick at all...mice are the most natural and best diet to feed ferrets...now i have 2 ferrets myself and i choose to feed them dry food...BUT I ALSO HAVE A PYTHON AND SHE IS FED MICE MICE MICE!....it's nature get over it and if u cant then dont click on a video that clearly states ferrets kill live mice dumby...

  • What do you think is in the ferret food, pray tell? That's right, dead animals. :)

However, it also has a lot of fillers and garbage in it. Ultimately, the whole prey diet is more appropriate.

  • No one cares about mice They shit everywhere and they stink. Feed em to the ferrets!

  • wtf do u think ferret eat in the wild. his not sick at all! i wanna feed my fuzzys a mice they would have a blast.

  • @simgoalie ferret are not wild and would not survive in the wild.

  • @ferrets121 Meat does go into kibble. but not much. The ferrets eating raw and whole prey are much healthier. Its priorities.

  • Then why not give it dead meat?

Live food isn't necessary. It's cruel, and risky.

  • I find it allot easier to feed my ferretsdry food, its not as nutritional, but its less painful for the mouse

  • stupid!!!! at least buy a pinky mouse... i have pet mice just like that THAT ENJOY LIVING...ur sick

  • omg eww.. they make ferret food and sell it in stores.. one of the perks to domesticated animals is that they don't have to kill! It's why we buy dog food insted of buying them a damn chicken!

  • Lol, hilarious! Unless you are buying a 'vegetarian' dog food, that bagged food has dead animals in it also. But it's the not so nutritional, poor quality bits.

I would rather buy the chicken, to be honest. Much better for the dog.

  • enjoy ure bath :p

  • My ferrets just hunt crickets so far, hehe. Nice video.

  • haha gr8 way to train hunting ferrets 2.many a winters night spent catching live mice to bring out that killer instinct in my 5 jills..they love it

  • You put a live mouse in the tub and let them have at it! shame on you! Hows about a fighting chance?

  • People do the same when feeding their snakes. It's sad to see, yes but the ferret has to eat.

  • pansy fanny boy

  • Most responsible snake owners feed their snakes pre-killed food.

  • I grew up in a country were ferrets were running amock, eating chicken heads.Yeah, we kinda used to hate em but im in love with mine.Too bad had to give it away :(

  • it sucks

  • my ferrets have killed a mouse a squirll a rat a hamster a gerbil and my cat killed a rabbit i have a house full of predator animals

  • Ooo my ferret also hunted a mouse once. It was in the kitchen too, my mom saw it and freaked out but my ferret saw it, killed it and almost ate it whole. It was weird because he was used to canned food, but I guess his instincts awakened. Now we don't have to worry about mice in the house. :)

  • My two ferrets took a mouse the other night. that is, Crash did, Ninja just puffed his tail and looked spooked. At first Crash didn't know what to do, but as soon as he had touched the mouse his instincts awoke and he hunted it down in the kitchen, and then snapped it's neck.

  • they seriously killed it?!

  • the coon doesnt even know whats going on

  • NO BLOOD?

  • wow! i like ur ferrets the white one is verry nice! nice video
