All three chevy's have had at least three engine problems and one had a faulty transmission. My other uncle has 3 mustangs and has yet to have a problem out of his Boss, Mach 1, or newer model. I love Chevy vehicles.. I love Ford Vehicles... But honestly, Ford is a better company than GM... Ford is the only one out of the big 3 that never filed for bankruptcy..So obviously Ford is doing something right and continues to do so... I have a 67 Chevelle SS 396 that belonged to my dad and mom... Sadly, they both died in a car accident.. The SS is a convertible too with 47k original miles...I love that car.. Its not the fastest but it will move on down the road for sure.
I also have a 65 Chevy C20 custom cab truck...I bought it 5 years ago and have never had any problems with it... The older Chevy vehicles are awesome...even the newer ones. The Chevelle is my show car though... I have entered it in several car shows ad its won quite a few of them... I just don't post any videos of it because it was my dad's but it is surely known all over my town..I even belong to a Chevelle club :)

sorry bossnine. 80s blazers&jimmys were not optioned with the duel tank setup no short wheelbase gm ever was. the full length pickup trucks were the only vehicles with this option.and yes one of the tanks were at the side of the truck which is i agree very dangerous in a side collision but good for non stop 12 hour drives.i owned a 89 c10 4x4 jimmy so i can tell you for certain,the tank was located in the same place as a bronco,between the frame rails and behind the rear bumper.

Funny, I used to run a 72 Maverick full chassis car with a Chevy motor. I ran S/C (8.90 index). I won over many Chevy's and Fords, and was also beat by Chevy's and Fords. Who the hell cares? And thats why it won, not because of its speed necessarily, but because its able to displace and handle the speed for a fast launch. Its not ALL about speed, handling is important if not more important then speed.

I love Chevy vehicles.. I love Ford Vehicles... But honestly, Ford is a better company than GM... Ford is the only one out of the big 3 that never filed for bankruptcy..So obviously Ford is doing something right and continues to do so... I have a 67 Chevelle SS 396 that belonged to my dad and mom... Sadly, they both died in a car accident.. The SS is a convertible too with 47k original miles...I love that car.. Its not the fastest but it will move on down the road for sure.

I also have a 65 Chevy C20 custom cab truck...I bought it 5 years ago and have never had any problems with it... The older Chevy vehicles are awesome...even the newer ones. The Chevelle is my show car though... I have entered it in several car shows ad its won quite a few of them... I just don't post any videos of it because it was my dad's but it is surely known all over my town..I even belong to a Chevelle club :)

If I had the cash, and the know how/time when I was your age I would have gotten a 90% restored old school (Insert favorite muscle car here).
But since its your first car you want something you're not afraid to bang around. My buddy got a 2005 Mustang GT for his first car and totaled it within the week because he wasn't used to so much power.
Power is nice, but learning to drive and getting good at it requires a car you're not afraid 2 hurt

sorry bossnine. 80s blazers&jimmys were not optioned with the duel tank setup no short wheelbase gm ever was. the full length pickup trucks were the only vehicles with this option.and yes one of the tanks were at the side of the truck which is i agree very dangerous in a side collision but good for non stop 12 hour drives.i owned a 89 c10 4x4 jimmy so i can tell you for certain,the tank was located in the same place as a bronco,between the frame rails and behind the rear bumper.

I've seen MANY more broken-down Chevy's then Fords, and im only 14 lol. Just wait till i get older, then i'll probably have seen 1000's of broken-down Chevys and maybe 20 broken-down Fords? Well my dad owns a '66 Ford Mustang, so i know what you mean. Its amazing how Ford costs more, yet GM is what's going under (the most). In other words, Ford parts cost more because they are built better (hence the fact that more Chevy's break down than Fords), plus this means that Fords are worth more.

I've honestly never seen a car (or heard of one) blowing up. I've seen one car in real life catch on fire and burn to the ground, and that was my Dad's friend's 1950 Chevy, and something was wrong with its motor, and the guy had bought it (a 350 crate engine straight from GM) less than a week before.

Funny, I used to run a 72 Maverick full chassis car with a Chevy motor. I ran S/C (8.90 index). I won over many Chevy's and Fords, and was also beat by Chevy's and Fords. Who the hell cares? I recall people used to get so disappointed when they'd come up to the car in the pits and not see a Ford motor in it :-) It's what you're comfortable with - one is not better than the other...

The anticipated elapsed times for each vehicle are compared, and the slower car receives a head start equal to the difference of the two. With this system, virtually any two vehicles can be paired in a competitive drag race.
This way you can race a 13 sec chevelle next to a 10 sec mustang or similar .
