yea i have the same problem. i am gunna be a midfielder but i dont want to get beat up but i dont want to have the big bulky arm guard. how protective is the arm pad?
@jellyrancher123 - The main difference between the arm pad and arm guard is the plastic covering on the elbow. Arm pads are definitely more flexible and arm guards have more padding. The new STX Cell II lines that are coming out are both super flexible and have quality protection.
@jellyrancher123 - STX makes a very high quality pad protection wise. The Cell II's didn't feel bulky at all. The arm guards will be $74.99 and the arm pads will be $64.99.
@jellyrancher123 - that's really a matter of personal preference. personally, the arm guards would probably serve you better, but again, we want to stress it's all about your personal preferences as a player.
I have a question. I'm a midfielder and I want the most flexibility I can, but I dont know if I should get the arm GUARD or the arm PAD. Any help on that would be appreciated. Thanks!
@LacrosseMeetsMetal the arm pads are alot smaller, more flexibility, more breathability. i am a middie as well and when you go down low to scoop, an arm guard is going to be your best option. but if you dont care about the risk of a broken wrist, then go for the arm pads

The STX cell goalie pad is my favorite, so flexible while still providing maximum protection. I can't find the regular shoulder cell pads though.
