i did the first level without tool-assist for 369. i think that is as fast as u can get without any glitches(walljump, skipping flagpoles, etc.)

The original SMB had horrible hit detection, and he was just abusing glitches in the game to hell to go as fast as possible. That's why it's called a "Tool Assisted Speedrun". He uses an emulator to slow down the game, to make the glitches happen, and he re-starts every time he makes a mistake that could slow him down.

he would have gotten the time of 243 which means fireworks. That adds time to his TAS, which is not good.

@dennishenk Because when he does the flagpole glitch, the time ending will be 243, and 3 and 6 waste time except 1, so he can't do the flagpole glitch, without the glitch, the time will be 244.
