A fantastic arrangement of the "MALAIKA" sheet-music (including the original rolling-bass), PLUS the lyrics, rhymed translations, chords and programme notes about the song, can be found by Googling 'konkani songbook'. Really fabulous!
Mais le guitariste est pas mal du tout . Le ATALAKU a qd meme essayer given he is not from DRC and probably doesn`t understyand Lingala . This is good stuff .
Fadali Williams the original version and the writer or for that Miriam Makeba this version is a shambles and does not do justice to the beautiful song Malaiki. I speak swahili and Iknow howit should sound.
They've murdered the song. I'd rather Angelique Kidjo's version. At least she sticks to the format without the dombolo bits even though she doesn't speak Swahili and mumbles a lot. Dombolo is great but has it's place, and that's not with the classic Malaika song. My tuppence worth :-((
People! Hey people! This is total destruction nad utter corruption of a lovely song. Malaika is my all time favorite song and that is not how it should be sang. If the late Fadhili William sees this I dont know what his responce would be
Its definately the love for this song that many people are trying to sing it and changings many parts of the song. The original song is the real deal but, its definately a great trial that these people are trying to sing a language that they don't know. The language is murdered in the process but I feel the love for the original song. Hongera (Congratulations).
If someone has the portuguese, spanish or english translation from this lirics, please, post it. Ialso would like to know which language or dialect is this. I think it"s a very musical idiom.
This is a joke, normally Congolese can sing well in kiswahili. The rest of it is just ok i.e in their congolese style, etc.

This is not the Malaika song we know of, poorly done, they need to listen to the Fadhili William malaika, the best ever.

I agree, the dombolo beat kills the beauty of this song.
