  • Rick Perry said "i believe in gun control, if you can't control the gun with one hand, use both hands"

  • Kipp, I have never owned a gun, never shot a gun, and never wanted to own a gun. I have held a few in my hand with no other intention than to just look (safety on no bullets) and it made me think... what other purpose can you tell me a gun has other than the purpose of killing someone or some creature? Gun nuts will say we have a right to own a gun but for any other purpose besides being able to kill is something they have yet to figure out! I really think it's useless to have a gun at all!

  • Ur fuckin WRONG!!!!!

PEOPLE kill people, guns DON'T do that on their own!!!

But would u ban people for that? NO, u wouldn't, so get the fuck off the guns andf get the fuck off the people who do NOT commint crimes with them!

  • "Since Hawaii has X gun laws and low gun crime, if the rest of the USA has X gun laws crime would reduce".

"Since blue and red makes purple, blue and green makes purple".

Yeah, I don't think so, call me crazy.

  • 7... Roughly 16,272 murders were committed in the United States during 2008. Of these, about 10,886 or 67% were committed with firearms.

Roughly 33,808 motor vehicle deaths in 2009. Which was actually down 9.7% from 2008. See the funny thing about statistics, you can make any argument look good or turn it in your favor.

  • 7... Household gun ownership is around 8 - 11 % in Hawaii, which is considerably lower than most states. One could make a direct correlation between the small number of citizens who do own guns and Hawaii's high rank in theft related crimes.

  • 7 Gun crimes in Hawaii are low, I will give you that. But is it because of the laws passed or the seclusion of your state? You made a comment about one not needing an assault rifle to hunt deer and it is bothering me. Why? There is no difference between a semi-auto deer rifle, a semi-auto assault rifle, or a semi-auto shotgun (used for birds) I understand the theft issue you are going to bring up. Lets face it, Hawaii ranks up there in this department.

  • 7 // Aggrevated Assault rank of 39th, Property Crime rank of 4th, Burglary rank of 16th, Larceny Theft of 2nd, and Motor Vehicle Theft of 6th in the union.

  • 7 kipp, I have watched your gun video along with some of your other videos. But I do not really understand you or what you are trying to achieve with this video. Never the less, I'll bite on this one. You state that Hawaii has very strict gun laws, correct. According to the U.S. States Crime 2004-2005 Crimes Per 100,00 and Ranking: For Population Hawaii ranks 43rd, Violent Crime ranking of 41st, Forceable Rape ranking of 39th, Robbery rank of 36th, Continued to next post....

  • 7 Great Video man

  • 7 I'm one of those few very pro 2nd amendment guys who's a progressive. I've got to say that the vast majority of gun owners I've come across are just overly paranoid gun nuts. Conservatives generally freak out rather quickly.

That being said, I gotta say that there's nothing in this vid I disagree with. If we somehow could get rid of all guns in the country, then gun crimes would drop to zero. That's just obvious. To be continued...

  • 7 But, I would also say that there is a legitimate reason for common citizens to own guns. I think personal protection is an important right, and outweighs the negative consequences of gun crimes. Plus, I think most of these crimes could be solved by getting rid of our draconian drug laws, and addressing problems with poverty.

What bothers me about the gun ownership is that irresponsible people (or outright dumb shits) can have a gun. To be continued...

  • 7 I'd think a mental health check to see if you're not crazy & a firearm competency test should probably be required, but then you get into who is going to administer such a check from a non-biased point of view. It's a dilemma for sure.

In the UK, people can't have guns. But I've seen BBC news reports of people being very concerned about street gangs carrying knives. Perhaps this is a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

  • @alvagoldbook2 7 from an unbiased point of view, I'm sure any psychiatrist could give a good mental health check. And damned if you do, damned if you don't? Exactly how many total murders are there in the UK every year, might I ask? Something like 750 on average? Put it this way, there are about 0.14/1000 murders per capita annually in the UK compared to 0.43/1000 in the U.S. per capita. Americans are 3X as likely to die via murder as are Brits. I think the UK have better weapon laws, don't u?

  • @alvagoldbook2 7 I apologize, my numbers were a bit off. It's .014/1000 and .043/1000. Americans are still 3x more likely to be murdered than are Brits.

  • @FrostuMcPenos Yes, that's certainly true. But I think I big reason for this isn't guns per se, but that American society is in steep decline, and a lot of people watch propaganda on TV that makes them paranoid and crazy. British society isn't in decline.

  • @alvagoldbook2 7 Now we're getting somewhere. Are you saying that the American population doesn't have access to the same information that the British do? For the record, I agree that American media is garbage. It's currently owned by 3 companies, all of which are intertwined somewhere down the ladder. Whereas it was owned by 2,000+ companies in the 40s, 200+ in the 80s. But tell me, how different is that from British media?

  • @FrostuMcPenos 7, well I'm not talking about media consolidation per se, although that certainly is a problem, it's the content of that media. Michael Moore covered this a bit in Bowling for Columbine. American media is designed to scare the shit out of people to make them loyal consumers. But that has some very dire consequences, and I think is fueling the occasional crazy who shoots someplace up.

  • 7 If you look over to the right you can see a bunch of music videos made by Kipp. I am here to vouch for Kipp as a former gun owner. You see he recorded a few of those songs at my house in AZ and during a dinner break Kipp was pulled over with my 5 year old son on his way back to my house and of course the cop found a pistol in his trunk. Well that made the simple stop take a little longer hahaha. Anyway Kipp proved that he was the registered owner and they actually let him go with a warning.

  • @alockout

Dude, I had completely forgotten about that. What a great example of how gun registration does NOT inhibit the rights of gun owners. Thanks man!

  • 7 I've been PM's and threatened only by people from two camps...radical religious types when making videos about woman getting beaten for crimes men have committed against them in sharia law countries AND gun fanatics who can't bring themselves to discuss gun control as a human being.

After making a number of videos on the subject, without ever saying anything about taking anyone's gun, or right to a gun, away I've concluded that discussion is pointless no matter how necessary. Good Luck!

  • 7 IMO, if your firearm was stolen and used in a crime, if you didn't have it secured then you are partly responsible for that crime and you should lose any right to a firearm in the future. You have proven yourself to be a moron. FFS, you can buy a Stack-On cabinet for $120ish.

If you sold a firearm illegally and it is used in a crime, you are just as responsible as the perpetrator(s) and should face the same charges.

  • 7 A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

How many right-wing gun nuts are ready to join the militia?

  • @apdosfij134 7 The caveat to that is that the Jefferson and Madison envisioned that everyone (or every male in those days) be a member of their state militia. They feared that a standing army could become tyrannical, so to protect against this they made the commander in chief of the military a civilian, and Jefferson tried to outlaw standing armies in times of peace. The 3rd amendment was the resulting compromise.

  • @apdosfij134 7 The idea is that everyone should receive military training, everyone be a member of the militia, and everyone in that capacity be armed, and for each state to have their own army. Jefferson reasoned that such a system would prevent a military coup, but also be the best defense against invasion.

As a gun owner and someone who carries all the time, I view my responsibilities to my community in that light. I carry to protect myself, but to protect everyone else too.

  • @alvagoldbook2 "Jefferson reasoned that such a system would prevent a military coup, but also be the best defense against invasion."

So where were the gun owners during the Oklahoma City bombing or on Sept. 11, 2001 when two jets crashed into the World Trade Center? Hell, there was a whole navy equipped with tank bombers on board the USS Cole when it was besieged by terrorists! Jefferson's idea worked, I see!

  • @jazzfan5000 There's no question, that an organized attack requires an organized defense. But that doesn't change the fact that if an individual has the right to his own life, then fundamentally, he would then have the right to protect and defend his own life. A nation of gunowners makes a totalitarian gov't more difficult to establish. But a nation of gunowners is no defense against the military industrial complex.

  • @alvagoldbook2 Read what I said to Kip about owning guns. There is only purpose to own a gun and that is a purpose to kill. I have never shot a gun or had a reason to kill anyone or any creature. Therefore I feel it's totally useless to even own a firearm.

If the government would decide they're going to attack their own people and invoke tyranny on the masses, you're not going to be worried about your "cold, dead hands" - you will be worried about your "charcoal remains"

  • @jazzfan5000 Jazz, you're quite correct that the only reason to own a gun is to kill. Sadly, in order to protect your own life, that is sometimes necessary. As a progressive and a gun owner, I didn't come to this conclusion lightly. I concluded that I could remain a victim, or defend my life, my family, and my community. I chose the later.

  • 7

I don't have anything to add, I just want you to know that I watched the whole video.

    7 again.

  • 7 Buy Mountain Dew!

  • 7 Well said!

  • ((6x3)+3)/3

legal gun owner is a potential criminal

  • @elstonieo Everybody is a potential criminal, so, what's your point?

  • 7 Countries with the tough gun laws have low gun crime. It helps that so many of them dont have the mentality that guns are great, so theres less interest as a whole in the dangerous weapon.

I remember the debate when UK imposed tough gun law and crime rose so peopl freaked out. UK needed an adjustment period on their mentality but even with the crime rise, crime lowered again and it fluctuates normally.

I can add links later, but the ones I found I dont have time to go all out.

  • @waltermh111 7 But looking, we have 5 times UK population, yet far more than 5 times gun crime despite easier access to guns.

I also remember a study of one city in US where most victims of gun crime came from citizens that had guns, likely due to provoking the criminal who tends to have the advantage in such a situation.

I also hear too many stories of kids getting legal guns to kill with, and family killing each other accidently by shooting first and asking questions later.

  • 7 I dunno man. This is where I part ways with the left. So if some big bruiser with a club in Hawaii is going to fuck you up, you have to go find a cop with a gun to defend you? Self defense is a priority that I can't afford to leave in the hands of someone else.

That being said, there does need to be regulation. Nothing gets on my nerves more than the rambo jackasses here in Texas who think a gun makes their weener seem bigger.

  • 7 deadly dwarves approve of your video

  • 7 of 9 was hot! ;-)

  • 7..?

Seriously, you're doing a really good job of making your points clear.

I may not agree with your perspectives.

I may not think about the same thing as you.

I really respect your stuff, as well as the lengths you go to to keep it all clear & rational - keep it up!

    ^_^
