"A man from Sarajevo" is actually Goran Bregovic himself...
little info:
In tangential developments, in 1993 Walker co-wrote and co-performed (with Goran Bregović) the single "Man from Reno" for the soundtrack of the film Toxic Affair.
"Ipak pozelih neko pismo" is dating from 1979. ... So...
Somebody said it's Scott Walker's original. It's not, the original song is by Bregovic's old Yugoslav band Bijelo Dugme from 1979 and it was called "Ipak pozelim neko pismo" (roughly translated "I still wish for some letter") back then.
a incredible sincere deep band i saw so many times in belgium ! they are deeply
loved here since 20 years !! full love to them again .... i remmeber one night they played just before the tindersticks ! that was owesome .............
such an incredibly great band with a hauntingly beautiful voice by Carla, and I question why the Walkabouts were more popular in Europe than the US ???
@thankGodforDavidG check Calexico , let's say they a probably also one great underrated band from USA . full of heart , full of energy , intelligence , sensitivity , great texts and powerfull live performances .
