  • 1:38 that was A freaking cool mic

  • Why didn't he just use SIRI?

  • People please help i am just simply stuck HTC Titan or Samsung Galaxy Note :(

  • @TheAllumen HTC Titan WP7 is wayyyyyy better!!!!

  • lol i tried challenging with my htc sensation while watching all the videos....i lost all of them...except this one ! !! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay... :D but i love WP7 !! it simply rocks...maybe i won this challenge coz my internet was faster..... :)

  • Id like to know 2 things: 1. Was he using a wifi spot compared to the competitors as lag would have been created by the network provider and given any phone an advantage using wifi 2. I would like to see an iPhone, android or whatever user with knowledge of all the shortcuts like the windows rep does as some competitors clearly know the true functionally of their phone With these 2 factors then I'd like to see the real challenge

  • What I'd like to know is 2 things:

  • To all single women, if you want to go to dinner at a 4 star restaurant go out with a guy who has a windows phone. Android users will take you to a McDonald's and iPhone users wont take you anywhere. This is a fact as seen in the video above.

  • I believe this because there are windows phones that have a faster processor than those phones the other guys have.

  • Like than WP doesn't deal with customizability bullshit straight to the point

  • im so happy i got a windows phone 7

  • All Android guy had to do was use his places app (native to Android) and within 5 seconds would have been done.

It actually takes longer to decide which restaurant you would prefer than the operations.

Of course a trained marketing guy is going to beat a couple of normal convention goers.

Get a Google employee and someone from the Apple Genius Bar to go up against him and I'm confident he would lose more often than not.

  • Windows phone is proprietary and locked offering zero customization.. 1 second more or 15 seconds less Android will always win there..

The rest is just marketing chit chat..

  • are they using the same network, because that has a little bit to do with it. doesn't it?

  • @armyofsporks1 They are all connected to the wifi at the windows booth. So, it's the same networlk. The difference is the integration. The other phones rely on apps which take longer to find and load.

  • I'm enjoying the vids waaaaay too much

  • WHY DIDNT HE USE SIRI..IT TAKES LIKE 8 SECONDS IF THAT!!

  • @bananaphone1987 SIRI would take longer. Once SIRI starts and you say the command, it send the information to the Apple server to translate then gets the information requested. Plus I don't think it will sort by star rating.

  • candy from a baby

  • I used Siri and I got results faster than any of them.. could have earned $100 LOL, but on and all, WP7 is pretty amazing, very efficient when it comes to UX.

  • @trinoalvarez How well does SIRI work in a loud crowded convention area?

  • @ymcpa73 surprisingly well, specially if you use the phone as if you were making a phone call so that the mic is close to your mouth. I didn't time it but I got directions an all just a little earlier than these guys.

  • @trinoalvarez He did it in 9 seconds. How fast did SIRI do it? remember you also need to get directions.

  • why name shows the os of the phone... p.s.(not xp)

  • why doesnt the guy with the 4S use siri?

  • Comment removed

  • I can barely pay attention to these videos, THE WINDOWS PHONES ARE SO PRETTY!!!!

  • Let me see if he can beat my atrix

  • too bad local scout isnt supported in canada :(

  • @BlazingPuppies neither is siri. we just can't win :(

  • @BlazingPuppies What do you mean? I'm in Canada and it works for me. Maybe check your settings.

  • @webherring what part of canada are you in? Maybe it works for big cities like toronto but although Victoria is the capital of british columbia, it still isn't big enough for local scout

  • Hahaha

  • I'm not quite sure how he found a "four star" restaurant. I mean in the local scout the star ratings are user-given. Does that count?

  • @KiranStevens i was just thinking that... some people would happily consider 'McDonalds 4 star...' and i would know, i live in Scotland... ;)

  • Siri probably would have been as good as Local Scout. The WP7 guy could have just said, "find 4 star restaurant" into TellMe too. I would like to see that challenge. Good video anyway.

  • Again, good sports, no egos.

  • yep they got smoked by windows phone :)

  • very fun to watch man, make us WP user proud, the 4s guy seems to be disapointed. HAHAHAH =D

  • Voice commands in such a crowded Place? Really?

  • lol fun fun fun

  • Why didn't the 4S guy use Siri?

  • @roxas13kh You can use WP7's speech command to search for restaurants and it will take you directly to a local search and list places show name, address, distance, and star rating all before you actually tap a result. From there you can call them, get directions, see hours, ratings and the type of food they offer. You can even book reservations if they are available or jump right into check-in and other apps. Siri can't do all that.

  • @wixostrix I'm not doubting WP7's capabilities. I was just curious as to why the 4S guy chose to type instead of ask Siri. I'm not a user of either operating system but it is my understanding that Siri would at least be able to list the restaurants faster than he could type and search

  • @roxas13kh understandable :)

  • Why can't they use Siri? Only reason I know is that WP7's voice recognition compared to Siri is terrible.

  • @Harukoozt Not true. I use it everyday for various tasks and it works great.

  • @Harukoozt

Because he is in a noisy convention center, and no matter how good Siri is, it will NOT be able to do anything with that much background noise. I tried it out in a noisy Apple store, and it couldn't understand what I was saying when it was 2 in. from my face!

  • @Harukoozt That is halfway true. Siri is better at understanding what you are trying to tell it. You can use all diffrent sentences and phrases and it will still work.

The windows phone on the other hand works diffrently. You have to be short and consise. For exapmple, you you say "weather", it will bing the weather. However you you say "is it goign to snow"m it wont know what to do.

The windows phone tell me is better in the iphone in that (-continued-)

  • @Harukoozt (-continued-) once it does understand you, it uses it to find what you are looking for faster. If you say "chinese resterant" it will then search bing local scout. This will gove you lists of all the chinese resterants around you with their rating, phone number, location, ect. After telling siri "find me a chinese resterant", you might get a list of them, but all that other information will be harder to find.

  • @Harukoozt sorry for the typos. I think my posts are still some what understandable. :D

  • I love it, hi from chile !

  • i love it

  • "thats right"

  • first.
