1) South Carolina College was founded first. University of Southern California came before South Carolina College started calling themselves the University of South Carolina.
2) agreed
3) Try winning something in football, because your biggest highlights in your 100+ year history are a 1969 ACC title and last year's SEC East title. To the rest of the CFB world, your best known for a school that barely has a winning record in your lifetime (and until a couple years ago.... a losing record.
@ClipCoug Haha the Pac-10. Such a great conference (Sarcasm). The upper half of the Pac-10 would be at the lower half of the SEC. 5 straight national championships buddy
@ZachNoltemeyer, funny statement, I recall the Pac-10s's best team, without a paid-to-play QB, was within a FG from winning the BCS NC.
Not really much difference between USC and South Carolina's seasons last year, similar records with similar SOS's, only difference is that the SEC is split in 2 given your team a change to win a division title. USC could do the same thing this year now that the Pac is split into 2 and you were bowl eligible, but we won't talk about what happened in that bowl ;)
Pac-10 can and has held their own the last decade against the SEC, but for some reason, the NCAA seems like it's more important to throw out the over-rated Big 10/Big XII teams out there for SEC fodder.
One more year of our bowl ban, and we'll probably be back up to winning the Pac-12 and possibly in the NC conversation. Will South Carolina win a bowl game by then?
@USCTROJANSFAN5 last time South Carolina and Southern Cal played was 1983. South Carolina beat the snot out of your guys, 38-14. South Carolina is THE REAL USC.

@ClipCoug No doubt Newton was paid big money, but do you really think Oregon isn't paying players?

@bull864 Well the Seastrunk guy is gone to Baylor, now the only question is LaMIchael James
I know Oregon puts a lot of their Nike money into their facilities on campus.
Might as well call TCU the true champions of last season, haha.
ClipCoug 6 months ago
@ClipCoug Agreed. TCU is cleaner than Oregon and Auburn for sure.
