На самом деле, Америка во времена холодной войны с СССР подарила конструкцию камаза не просто так. Дело в том, что стратегия военных действий заключается в скорости боеготовности. А камазу надо после запуска двигателя примерно 10 минут, чтобы отпустить пневматические тормоза. И за эти десять минут может произойти очень многое. Это был стратегический ход со стороны американцев. Хотя камаз и впрямь неплохая машина!

Everything on that truck is made in Russia, exept their shocks, their made in holland. Diesel power magazine wrote and article about kamaz a few months ago.

This rtuck has ZF gear box, Michelin tyres, and i'm not sure that Yaroslavl Motor Plant could made good turbochardgers. Its unknown.

Belts, clutch, technical liquids can be foreign too.

Shock adsorbers before 2010 were russian-made.

We can add this to the short list of good vehicles that Russia has ever produced. Also included, the Mil28 Havoc, and the latest MBT's, and most Kamov helicopters. I wish they'd start selling the Kamaz in the US. I doubt anyone would buy any other kind of truck ever again.

@phrawgg2 They ARE an EXCELLENT off road truck, but fortunately in the US we have mostly, pretty decent roads. Trucks built to this standard would be way too heavy (and thus unable to carry sufficient payload within the US laws) and too expensive to sell in the US market. (Not to mention the TOTALLY more restrictive US emission laws that these Kamaz trucks were NOT designed to meet.) By the same token, US trucks do not sell too well in their part of the world either.

So as the cars are doing at least 160kph and you say the trucks are doing 200kph more, that would mean the Kamaz truck is traveling at 360kph, which is the same as 225 mph.

@MrAndrius12, Well it doesn't really matter if I am a lair or not because it is well documented that they have repaired their trucks when in 'parc ferme', which under the FIA rules is illegal, however they have been allowed to do it without punishment. This is the reason that although the Tatra trucks were a less powerful and slower it was much more reliable and in the end would win because Kamaz ran out of spare parts. Its all well known Dakar history - look it up sometime.
