  • Please tell me the book......

  • I'm glad I came across this! I too decided to about a week ago start experimenting with lying to myself. I've been trying to break free from depression for a while now, and yes for some reason it is addicting :/ But some other things are starting to turn positive in my life, so now I feel more capable with keeping my head up and ignoring negative thoughts and 'that feeling'. Thanks again for the video. Hopefully my self-inception takes root :)

  • Hah! Look at you with your old videos. You have indeed been around as long as I have, I think. I sort of already know your story, but it's interesting to learn more. Hugs for Ms. Anubis!

  • I love this, any good book titles you want to send my way much appreciated (deprogramming oneself-wise)

  • Dude you should write a book/novel on your experiences. If not you may be some novelist can. Your story is very exciting and it has at least inspired me to write a novel.

  • Science is supposed to be the last word on any subject. Hence there is no place for values, tradition, metaphysics, revelation, faith, authority, or theology. God has no purposes in the universe, first of all because there is no God and secondly because there are no purposes. The great values of life- such as justice, truth, charity- are beyond the god of science. No one yet has ever been able to put a mothers love into a test tube, and yet who will deny its reality?

  • @tfrenn Actually they have. Its called oxytocin. My series what the heck is love discusses this.

  • @anubis2814 oxytocin and love ? Welcome to SOMA of Brave New World. What is the use of living unless we know the purpose of being human?

  • @tfrenn Actually its advantageous to understand because we can better understand ourselves and we can avoid pitfalls that blind use of the brain drugs we have can make us fall into. It is actually philosophical Buddhism at its best. If you can't identify an emotion and know its properties then you can't know how to avoid its negatives and better enjoy its positives.

  • Very well presented. Your story sounds similar to mine.

  • Where do you find these photos for your videos? they are hilarious and really help emphasize your points

  • Google images has everything you need! :)

  • I appreciate your honesty and willingness to discuss your journey. I fight a lot with depression. While I don't have guilt or pull from religious crap since leaving mormonism 15 or so years ago, I still feel like it has harmed me by making me too trusting of others and too desiring of being under other's authority, in essence being too passive. My natural personality is that of a leadership role but I struggle with brainwashing that tries to convince me I'm should settle for following.

  • Thank you. The next part of my series "Why do intelligent people still believe in religion" was going to be over authority. I was ridiculously passive and passive/aggressive thanks to this mindset. I didn't even think to mention it though I had thought about it before. Your comment helped make the next video better.

  • Glad I could help :) I'm enjoying your videos.

I think religion stifles individuality and harms self-identity. I've dismissed the Bible and Jesus stuff and dogmas which I no longer feel pull from. But I do still struggle with living life on my own terms and not falling into the trap of people-pleasing.

  • To continue on, could it also be that there is one God, and this is the same deity that speaks to all the religions? That God presented himself in a way that a particular people would understand and accept. Could it be that religion and science can exist in harmony. The biggest problem with religion is that purists cannot think with an open mind. I have faith that the "word" is a guide in how to treat each other with respect, kindness and love.

  • I have yet to see anything moral about the bible. A book that commands genocide and slavery. A book that calls a man righteous when he offers his two virgin daughters up to an angry crowd for gang rape then his daughters "take advantage of him" and get pregnant.(Lot) A book that calls a man righteous for making a stupid deal with god and then sacrifices his daughter in return for victory(Jephtha) A book that god slaughters children for making fun of a bald guy? (Elisha) No morals there

  • Great insight. Just some food for thought. Could it be that most Christians tend to take the Bible literally? Could it be that God does exist, and the Bible was written so that people at that time could comprehend its teachings. When in Genesis it ways God created everything in 7 days, could it be that God actually set things up so that things came about as science states (a few billion years taking in the big bang theory through evolution), but people could not comprehend? Just a thought?

  • Yes anything is possible, however there is no reason and no evidence to believe that such a god exists. At the point where one can give me unbiased and unemotional based proof of a deity then I shall believe. Worship probably not as this deity caused us to suffer brutally for thousands of years with no help or knowledge of ourselves or environment. Billions have been killed raped and murdered in the name of this deity and he/she did nothing to stop it.

  • i wanted a video to play so i could listen while i went to brush my teeth... yea at 2:30 in the afternoon - that's why i don't make it to coffee and convo anymore =( but anywho, the pics kept me watching lol. where do you find this random stuff? i'm a suckah for cute kitties......... and i digress... bottom line: keep it up. your vids entertain a very select population, but its totally worth it =)

  • I find it on google images. And kittens are found on lolcats. Do a search from them.

  • Well, good luck! It seems like you have it nicely in hand so I expect you will succeed. Great video; I expect it will be seen as very honest even by religious people.

  • Great video mate. Very touching. :)

  • This was the whole history of your inner self, related to us. I was touched. And angered at the religious brainwashing, that especially in your condition, wasn't helping at all. You pointed out very well that in teenage years this amounts to labelling "sin" everything that is normal for a teenager.

I haven't had anything like that in my life, but I feel for you people, in USA especially, and understand you better why you want to fight religion.

  • Really interesting. :) Thanks for posting.

  • I can't tell you how helpful this video is. - I just read bigbabyj's comment and agree completely. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

  • Thank you so much for posting this and some of your other videos. Your personal perspective puts things into place. Please keep making videos.

  • Thanks for the encouragement, I plan to.
