Even without knowledge of biographical background or extra-musical context this piece can be appreciated, if you have some musical insight: whoever listens to both technical and artistic values in music can understand that this piece is dreadly difficult, and that expression doesn't rely on easy and established formulas. A trained ear can however notice that even these apparently scattered notes have a "pedal/center" (obviously not a tonal one) around which they buzz.

So you can take this piece, put it in front of your five month old cousin, and see how he reacts to having to play this. Most likely, he'll hate you for the rest of your life. ;)

A todos los que dicen que si hace ruido, o que eso no es música o que no tiene estructura: En un cuadro, ¿Si no hay un jarrón explícito no es pintura, ni arte, ni sabe pintar el autor? Cuantas memeces. La pieza es una obra maestra (leed algo sobre Luciano), y el chaval lo toca fenomenal.

no es por nada, pero esta obra es una de las mas dificiles del repertorio de saxo... y el hecho que tenga multifonicos, armonicos y otros sonidos "raros", no significa que no sepa tocar...

Incredible performance! Wow, what a piece. The composer combines elements of modal music with atonality and explores sonic extremes of the instrument; a truly inspired study of many potentials. This performance is on the quick side, but done so well I'm convinced it is the right tempo to play this at. bravo!
