This kind of Khmer art have been exist since Angkor era (I beleive).Performers trek and perform from house to house ,-from village to village collecting contribution for new building construction of a pagoda(in the modern time) or a temple(in ancient time).They accept every donation ,money,rice, dry fish,Prahoc even old cloths .
