Nice!, I have always loved Witchblade. I just recently watched the anime, which some may dislike but, I still love it's feel and the over the top Witchblade look lol. I hope when the Movie comes if it ever does. They make it right. In honor of Mr Turner :8)
First of all, the Japanese anime series was awesome, better than any American interpretation of the Witchblade. Secondly, the live-action American series was horrible.
Japan butchered the comics with that atrocious piece of shit anime. this was much better in comparison. They should have kept it true to the source like we mostly do with their anime.

I loved Yancy Butler in this show and I hate how they portray women in the Cartoons with Big Boobs. Geeze get real if the character had big boobs they wouldn't be able to swing a sword or fight as good because the boobs would get in the way.
For the budget constraints, Witchblade was really good. It sort of reminded me of a mystical, modern Joan of Arc story. With a bit of hard-boiled cop drama thrown in. Yancy Butler definitely looks more like a cop than the Sara in the comics, anyway.
Not knocking the comics though, they're also great.
Can't say much about the anime, haven't seen it. But I wish people who have would refrain from potshots, unless they've seen both series.

What do you think "Alternate Universe" means? It means that it's a completely new storyline with completely new characters. Still, that's besides the point. If the only reason you like Witchblade is because of the characters, then I'm not surprised that you don't like the anime.

The anime never was slated to be in the same universe as the original WitchBlade comic. In all the reviews and press releases I've read on the comic. TV show and the Anime it was never said that the anime ever WANTED to be in the same universe. They bought the rights to use the WitchBlade name would have been how it worked. They wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise because of copy right infringement laws. Just a FYI...

At least this series was faithful to the story for the most part. Yancy played an excellent sara Irons was fine but yeah Nottigham was a dissapointment.

I tried watching a few episodes of this back when it was first being shown on TV and I just couldn't watch it. They stray so far from the real witchblade story that I just couldn't help but feel like I was being cheated out of the time it took to see it.
But the actor is so much ugly than the comic sara! I think they could find a much pretty woman to act in the series. And is the witchblade realy some stupid armor? This is a cruel joke!

The TV Movie they did to start the live-action series was great.
The cast was great!
The writing on the hour-long episodes however was awful!
They had the characters acting like idiots!
I wish Top Cow writers like Christina Z were working on the live-action show.
Then it would still be on the air.
