  • Can you make the Tenma from Kamiya Satoshi?? please

  • @ZEROXD555 I haven't tried yet. And at least for now time is too short for me to fold more complex models.

  • looks amazing, and its desine is awesome

  • My front legs always end up too short and the body is really long.

  • 14 peaple don't know how to fold it!

  • can u tell me how hard this is from simple to complex please

  • @jellybelly8562 I'd say it's a high intermediate model. But everyone has a different sense of complexity. Some would probably call it complex already.

  • good thing I download this video and set the speed to Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really slow...... (-_-)

  • @Kill3rK3nn3th im stuck in the open sink fold part...

  • i love the sound of speed!

  • i made it, but the head and feet/hooves were a bit hard for me :)

  • @MinecraftCH Yes, it's hard to shape them so they look really nice. That's why in my photo I show of the wings instead. :)

  • wait no sped up video

  • Have you tried the wizard yet? And if so, was it hard? Btw great video

  • @Razor2553 Yes, I did fold the wizard one or twice. I wasn't happy enough with the result to post a picture of the fold, though. The final shaping of the model is pretty essential, so it's somewhat important which type of paper you use. It's a complex model. It's probably harder to fold than the pegasus, but by far easier to fold than the ancient dragon.

  • @AdamsSara Thanks!

  • Hey Sara! Is the pegasus, the easiest model to fold from "works of satoshi kamiya" Wich is the easiest model to fold from that book?

    Congratulations for your videos. Thanks.

  • @yppcubber No, it's not the easiest model from that book. For example, Splash (Swan) is easier, and so is the Yellow Bird.

  • @AdamsSara

    Thanks!

  • woah ur fast!

  • i like it very much and all of the models you made too by the way but lets get to the point i live in a country that is so poor we dont have an airport so no origami paper either can you tell me can i use printer paper or bigger(lot loooooot bigger)but veeeery thick so its a bit harder to fold?

  • @mobradovic00 I've used wrapping paper for folding many of my models, especially in my earlier videos. For this model, too, I used wrapping paper. That may be an option for you.

Yes, you can also use printer paper or larger, heavy paper. However not all types of models will work well with thick paper. If the paper is quite heavy, it may be suitable for wet-folding, but folding it dry will probably be hard.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hmm, I just got the book in the post and I'm about to attempt to fold this one. I'm not sure I like the way you've done this one personally. The fat body and the bowed down head makes it look more like a donkey with wings. Sorry if that sounded rude. Actually I was hoping to get your opinion on whether it would be okay to fold this with A4 printing paper? I heard that you'd need thinner paper for this. Thanks for the tip about getting the book by the way.

  • @MrFeatherr I think A4 printing paper will be a bit too heavy, and definitely too small for your first try. As to final shaping - it's a matter of taste. Plus, I believe the finishing touches I add to models have changed in the last two years. ;)

  • I apologise, I didn't mean it as an insult it just looked quite different to what I saw in Kamiyas book. And I agree, I saw your comment on your happy folding website about thick paper, I think I'm going to work on the unicorn with A3 paper, and Romaz Diaz's crane before I take a look at Pegasus. Thanks for the reply.

  • thanx :). i myself have made this model... but i have only accses to A4 office paper so in the later steps on this model.. it started to become really stubborn because of the thickness of the paper. could you suggest anywhere i could find thinner paper?

  • @supermariogalaxy2123 There are several online stores that sell origami paper. This is often thinner and lighter than office paper. You can also check arts and crafts stores, they will usually have a supply of different paper, some of it thin, light, and hopefully still crisp. :) You can also try baking paper or bread wrap.

  • by how much is the time lapse by? 500 percent?

  • @supermariogalaxy2123 It took me about 1.5 hours to fold this, so that's about 90 minutes, or 5400 seconds. The video of the folding itself is about 24 seconds long, so it must have been sped up by about factor 225. Back then I think I only sped up by factors of two, so probably it's 25600 percent. You were only off by a bit. ;)

  • make it even faster faster and faster and faster faster faster and faster and faster faster faster and faster and faster faster faster and faster and faster faster faster and faster and faster faster faster and faster and faster

  • can u help me on step 37 as well? stuck

  • @DarkPast27 Check the origami forum at thekhans.me.uk/forum/ for help on specific steps.

  • hi I´m making this model using the diagrams of the book Works of Satoshi Kamiya 1995-2003 Editor Matoko yamaguchi.. I´m stuck on step 54. when you start to make the head.. can u help me

  • @nandoaiesec You seem to have other diagrams than I do. Step 54 is some precreasing, fold edge to edge, nothing to explain there, really.

  • @nandoaiesec Check the origami forum at thekhans.me.uk/forum/ for help on specific steps.

  • This model was soo fun to fold, however... I used copy paper and a 8 in a half inch paper, so the Pegasus came out sooo small.. haha. and the model gets really, really thick closer to the body, so it was quite hard to fold, but honestly, the steps weren't too bad, i have to admit.. I took about and hour in a half to 2 hours... Yours came out fantastic.. Im not too happy about mine, so im going to have to fold it again... =DDD

  • please help me! i have been stuck on step 37 for almost a month now! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 5 YEARS LATER EEEEEEEEEEEASE!

  • @Sparklette14 Please see my PM.

  • are the diagrams clear in the book or not (just like in blilliant origami book it SUCKS!!!!)

  • @matsuboy007 The diagrams in the book are very clear. I agree that Dave Brill's hand-drawn diagrams are much harder to read.

  • about how much money did the book cost

  • 5,700 Yen / 52 EUR / 59 USD each including shipping (i.e. EUR includes shipping to Europe, USD includes shipping to the US)

  • I messaged you a week ago about step 28, and i think I got it. But now I'm stuck on step 30.

Thanks in advance for the help

  • It's simply a valley fold. It might not work if you didn't perform the previous steps correctly. In particular, be sure to fold in the corners in step 29 to allow the move required in step 30. Hope this helps.

  • I'm stuck on step 28, any help??

  • I'm travelling right now, can you bug me again on Thursday if you still need help with step 28? Right now I don't have access to the book.

  • how long did it "really" take?

  • @burrabbit1 I have to admit, I don't remember. In a previous comment on this video I said about 1.5 hours.

  • meep.

    -landc101

  • it took him or her like a long time lol

  • how is the part 37-39 pleaseeeeeee

  • hmmm im stuck on steps 58 and 59.. anybody know how to do it?

  • oh wait, nevermind i got it :) i didnt notice the little ''inside view'' thingy..

  • a little fast, but good

  • unreal! great woman

  • I love you're videos but i'm so nob to do a thing like that, but i will trie.

    congratulations.

  • can u do a vid on how to make that cause i really wanna now cause its so freakin cute!

  • not exactly looking like a horse and neither like a pegasus, but more like a dragon or something. could be better done.

  • Honestly It doesn't look very cool. It looks more like a dragon in my opinion.

  • mine hadent got any front legs

  • me too.

front legs are too short to be usable.

    anything wrong?

  • wow... i had that a long time ago too...

just make shure you inside reverse fold them right..

or redo the diagram long enough with different paper to find youre fitten kind.

or w8 another week and il diagram it...

  • puta de mierda mostra como lo haces

  • wow...

  • 31*

  • i am currently stuck on step 39, any advice?

  • you just have to open the model a bit, and sink the grayed part that is shown in 38 and 39

  • i want to fold this model so bad =(

  • I have never gotten this pegasus to look good. I think this model must hate me or something...

  • pq nao bota essa porra na velocidade normal ..tem gente que besta .

  • i hat the way Satoshi Kamiya works end up so small.

    bonne vidéo

  • Juanitotello, she said it was just for watching, eres puta de mierda!

  • LA VERDAD QUE CAGADA.... eso es ser egoista....pásenlo en velocidad normal..... que chingaderas son esas de rápido.... a la mierda

  • good job

  • *39

  • can you show me how you did the sink in for step 38-3? PLEASE

  • please, where did you buy origami paper???

  • @origamimaniac google origami shop

  • FAST !

  • what are Satoshi kamiya books?

  • they are books of origami that are mostly master pieces of a master origamest he made a dragon and it is huge to u can check it out on youtube

  • Please help me...---> give me satoshi kamiya email PLEASE

  • hahaha xD

I want it too... but... I don't know japanese :p

I really admire satoshi kamiya... he is one of the most advanced origami masters in the world

    HE ROCKS!! :D

    ByeBye

  • Me too :)

    Bahamut Dragon RULES

  • @Blackwargreymon hIS BOOK IS ALSO IN ENGLISH... Oh, i just realised, you posted this 3 years ago....

  • this video is needless - who wants to fold it still need drawn diagrams... ;-)

  • rivorus was able to fold the divine dragon im positive you can sara

  • wasn't the first thing you made from his book the yellow bird? i went straight to the dragons when i got it =/

  • Yes, I first folded the chocobo, I think after that Splash! (Swan), and then pegasus. I far the dragons are still too difficult for me, but I'm working on it.

  • Ah, I forgot, a couple of days ago I folded the wizard, but there's definitely still room for improvement in my folding that model.

  • im 10 and i can make the ice dragon and the anceint dragon and also the divine dragon

  • there is a way better one by anibal jose voyer and it looks 100 times more beautiful than this but ncie try

  • stop kid slow down i cant fold along. ha ha ha nice video. :)

  • plz can you tell me where did you get the diagrams for this model ?

  • It's stated in the video description.

  • I started very simple such as the easy dog face.

  • I started folding 1 year ago and the most complex models I can make are the three-headed dragon, chimeara, and weevil by John Montroll.

  • i can make three-headed dragon, oriental dragon, dragon and its rider together and many others (i have a list yes it is sad) all basically by anibal jose voyer a world class origami master and mario adredos netto not so reknown but quite good anyway

  • you are awsome at origami! I'll never be as good as you in a million years

  • I started with origami 2 years ago, so it'd probably take you considerably less than a million years to get better than me. :)

  • please help me with the step 31

  • WOW THANK FOR THE FUCKING (speed-up) ^^

  • I have an instruction book here but got stuck in the middle. Now I finally found something that is so close (maybe identical) to what I have, well, you know I can't learn anything from it. I know you meant for people to watch and enjoy, but could you please make a video that is meant for teaching? I would greatly appreciate it. I may get good at it on other similar foldings later because of your possible help. Thanks

  • I fear I won't be doing a video on Satoshi Kamiya's designs. I haven't asked him yet, but in general, instructional videos on his stuff would probably just be too much work.

  • :-(... But thank you very much for your quick and kind response. Hopefully I'd be able to figure out the instruction here myself later. Have a good day!

  • Oh my god :o

    Beautiful !

  • wow

  • hello sara, you know how to make a staircase pipe?? from heinz strobl. is a modular origami and is very very nice. i hope that you know. bye thanks

  • No, sorry, I'm not familiar with that design (yet).

  • omg my eyes *eyes twitching like its having a seizure* slow it down so i can learn and not kill 50 billion brain cells a minute. i have a reguest. can you please post the flasher series (by jeremy shafer) thx in advance.

  • well, adamssara already said that it wasn't for following along.... also, i already asked her to make a how-to vid, but she hasn't contacted satoshi kamiya, and, the model is fairly complex, so she decided not to make an vid on hw to make it.

  • how long did it take u to do this?

  • It took me about 1.5 hours, and it was my second go at the design.

  • make a tutorial

  • help me to get in the step 9,im stuck...please....im in the step 8,but i cant figure how to get to step 9

  • well, the diagrams basically want you to fold the top point (as shown in the diagram)to the fold right underneath the diagonal half-point crease. if you still don't understand (in which i'm very sorry, if my instructions aren't clear enough), i MIGHT be posting a vid on haw to make it. also, no matter how much of a fan i am to adamssara, i will not be contacting the creator.

  • nice sarah i got kamiyas book to i got it for cristmas

  • where did you bought it?

  • "where did you bought it"?

    Is that a sentence?

  • I know this might be a little out of subject,

but if I may ask can you explain to me how to get to pull that hidden corner in the pattern 25? throughout steps 21-25 I've made everything as diagramed "at least I think I did" and I can't pull out that hidden corner, cause it's stuck cause of the creases 23-24.. so if possible i might need a hand in there :P

sry for being a newb, it's just that my gilfriend bought me the book and i haven't folded anything but the swan and ray..

    thanks ^^

  • can you show us how to make a a origami dragon in flight plz

i dont understand the diagrams on the internet so plz show me or us how to make it if you have the spare time.

    ty

  • This isn't really related to the video. ;)

    Here's an answer anyway:

I tried contacting Charles Esseltine, but haven't hearc back from him thus far. As long as he doesn't approve of me making a video, I will not make one. If he does, though, it's one of the next models I'd want to show.

  • uhm, there is a dude on youtube that has posted several videos on how to make that dragon....

  • Ah, but just because some people do it, that doesn't mean it's right to do so. Quite a few people do origami howto videos on YouTube, and most, if not all of them, don't ask for permission. I do, and I won't change that. I very much respect the designers, and I think it's the least I can do to get their consent. Obviously, not everyone has that opinion. Which, I think, is somewhat sad.

  • no, the comment was for boyzone5000. like, you didn't have to fold it since someone else already did it. hehe

  • hi where can you buy some foil paper

  • If you're interested in cheap foil paper, you can try wrapping paper. Around Christmas time foil paper can be quite popular. That's where I got the paper I used here.

My strategy is to always look at the paper section of stores I go to - or when I pass by a shop with one. Most times it'll take you a minute to see there's noting worth it there, but once in a while you'll get lucky.

Be warned, always touch the paper to feel what it's like. Avoid paper with a plasticy feel, it's hard to fold with.

  • wow. It does look really hard. Is it harder then the stegosaurus by Montroll?

  • That's a hard one, but I'll try.

first fold Steg: May 2006, 2 1/2 hours, 31 steps

first fold Peg: Feb 2008, 1 1/2 hours, 108 steps

Objectively: probably the pegasus is harder, but it was "easier" for me. Two reasons. First, I folded the pegasus 1 1/2 years after the stegosaurus, and I learned my bit in that time. Second, there's one step that's hard to understand in the diagrams for the stegosaurus.

Knowing the folding sequence of both now: the pegasus is harder, and will take longer.

  • wow ok.

Yeah, the pegasus looks quite harder then the stegoaurus.

  • that looks hard... are you going to post a video on how to make it?

  • I'm not planning on making a video on this, at least not in the near future. I haven't talked to Satoshi Kamiya about permission yet in any case.

As to how hard it it is to fold - I think it's easier than Robert Lang's scorpion. But then again, I needed - how many? seven? videos to explain that one...

  • kool lol have u made ne of the dragons?

  • Not yet. I haven't really looked at Bahamut yet, and the Ancient Dragon I won't attempt in the near future. It needs so many hours of folding, and I don't have the spare time at the moment.

  • ok when can you show us hot to make this one?
