  • "when you deface our leader you're defacing our country" do these people feel the same way currently?

  • whoa did someone fuckin sedate bill o'reilly for this interview... he didn't start yelling and going on an irrelevant tangent like he normally does.

  • This mediocre actor has always been frighten, especially during the Viet Nam war. Too frighten to enlist so he took the sides of the communist. Why does the Republican Party attract has-been actors?

  • Filming "Deliverance" Voight "stood in" 54 times when they rehearsed the anal sex.

    And action.

  • yet again - another highly intelligent fact based commentary from a fu@king moron. Wasted breathing space

  • I agree with Jon Voight.

    However, I disagree with O'Reilly.

It's not that there is a downside of free speech. Problem is that there isn't enough free speech. Basically liberals silence their critics (in schools, tv, universities etc.)

  • Right, but freedoms come with responsibilities. You can't say anything you want to your friend or a stranger on the street, for example, without concequences.

  • Yeah that is right. I didn't think of it like that (liberals silencing their critics). Which what Fox News if for...to try help America see what's really going on and things like that. And like xleax said, Yes..freedoms come with responsibilities, such as speech, and that's a big issue with so many ppl/celebrities. Especially those who put down our president. Bush was our president for crying out loud...he is to be respected. But yeah..i do agree with u about ur last point (silencing critics)

  • @Cocoluvr999:

I watch fox sometimes and some of the things they say are stupid. However most MSM is complete crap. They are so blatantly anti-American sometimes I wonder if they are paid by russia or Pakistan.

About Bush: I am aware that he made mistakes as president, but some things he did, I really respect him for (staying in Iraq when all said the war was lost).

Most people who criticized the president criticized him for what he did right. Most critics showed how stupid they are.

  • Bush crashed the family car (got us into Iraq), the fact that he stayed at the wreck site and filled out the accident report does not buy any respect from me. If he did the supreme commander's job and made sure we did Iraq right in the first year, I might respect him some, but not for sticking with a bad idea.

Too many incompetencies in W's admin.

  • @cocoluv:

I think the biggest problem in america is the educational system. Government schools produce mass produced idiots. No wonder politicians send their kids to private schools, despite saying that they support the public system (especially democrats who are in the pockets of unions).

    Time to introduce school vouchers.

People don't understand that unions steal money from the pockets of their customers and taxpayers. And this is because kids are indoctrinated by these socialist teachers.

  • That's exactly right...one of my teachers is a complete socialist. She talked about Bristol Palin and insulted Sarah Palin many times. It's crazy how rotten these teachers are nowadays.

Well...I'm just curious about what things on FOX are stupid. I'm not trying to argue I just want to know what you think. =) And yes..all the patriotism seems to be squeezed out of all these liberal celebrities. And also..have u heard about the Global Poverty Act? If not..google it.

  • @cocoluvr9999

about fox: it bothers me a lot that they are very religiously partisan. Many of the televangelists are absolute crooks and frauds, but fox won't say anything bad about them. At least they invite Hitchens once in a while.

Don't get me started on liberal celebrities. They don't think too much. I recomend P.J. O'Rourke - Eat the rich.

About Global Poverty act- i think it's a disaster. Democrats can't think straight.

It was proved that foreign aid doesn't aid the recipient country.

  • yep yep. agree, and thanks for the suggestion (Eat the Rich). And yeah, i bet most ppl dont even know about obama and his support of the global poverty act. in al his speeches, he talks about putting America first and all that, but seriously..we're gonna waste $845 Billion and it will just go to waste. how sad.

oh wait..btw just curious..how r some ppl on fox crooks and frauds?

  • @cocluvr9999:

I said that televangelists are frauds (Haggart, Falwell etc). Fox has nothing bad to say about them.

  • Alan, not a great idea to bring up Ted Haggard. He and his family were ostracized from his home and church after male excort/meth allegations.

You can google: Fox News Ted Haggard

and find numerous articles about the guy. So that statement has been debunked.

A Christian minister involved in a homosexual sex scandal: you can rest assured that story was covered by every network.

  • @ cocoluvr9999

    part 2

Recently the president of Rwanda asked not to receive any aid.

Usually aid is wasted in the pockets of corrupt govt officials and NEVER reaches the population that it's supposed to help.

Also, when govt officials can get money from aid, they don't care how decrepit the economy is and keep the red tape and corruption in place.

In Africa, the best economic performers are the countries with the least aid.

Also, taxes in US are high as they are.

  • @cocoluvr9999

    About aid that doesn't work:

Easterly: White man't burden and Elusive Quest for growth.

About your socialist teacher. A person like that won't make any money as a teacher if vouchers were in place. Teachers are leeches that suck money from the govt and provide no education to the kids.

    Unions are destroying America.

  • If you can write your comments, thank a teacher.

If you can read my comments, thank a teacher.

If you prefer an illiterate, innumerate, poverty stricken nation, well, never mind.

Teachers aren't leeches, most are earnestly trying to better the lot of every student they get. What do you do?

  • @drfoxcourt:

This is a bullshit reply. Would you still thank teachers if they were to be paid 1 million a year?

And I don't have to thank "a teacher". I know very well who my teachers were and they did a good job. They were not american teachers. Incidentally, US spends more per pupil than the GDP per capita in the country that I was born.

Also, I learned english on my own.

You like to put intentions in my head, just like a good marxist. tbc

  • According to you, if I think education is US in bad and expensive it must mean that I am against education.

I think education is important and that's why I think it's necessary to implement a voucher system.

Look at graduation rates in US highschools (Detroid 23%, Indianapolis 19%, etc (Carpe Diem Blog).

I tutor HS math and I know damn well how bad the govt teachers are.

Also, I intend to home school my kids despite the fact that the government will tax me anyway to make another idiot in PS

  • I totally agree with you. The public schools in our town are so bad that I literally have no choice but to put my kids in private school which is extremely expensive...I hope we at least have vouchers when my grandchildren are old enough to go to school. Thanks for your comment!

  • Get a life! Voight is a fool, as if it's 'wrong' to criticise a leader. That's free speech.

  • Wait, it's unAmerican to criticize the President? Was the Republican Party unAmerican from 1992 to 2000?

  • Yes Mr. Voight, we do have real enemies. However, I am troubled by your implication that as Americans we have somehow lost the right to criticize our president. I suppose you think not criticizing the president is patriotic. Well, Theodore Roosevelt just rolled over in his grave.

It was kind of ironic for Voight to mention propaganda on Faux News.

  • It's good to see a voice of reason coming out of Hollywood. He gets it - maybe because he's older and lived through WWII, or maybe he just has his eyes open.

  • to RockTheFacts, or maybe because he can kiss ass well?

  • "The downside of free speech." No such thing. That's like saying disagreement is the cause of slavery.

  • fuck jon voight. he couldnt raise kids

  • If Humans didn't say NO to their leaders we would still be in the dark ages. This man is so ignorant it bothers me that people like him are allowed on national telivision. And to the guy that said America Isn't imperialist... come on man.. open your eyes its true whether you like it or not. We attacked a nation that had 0 threat to us as confirmed by the UN and you say we're not imperialists. ignorance is not virtue and neither is arrogance and i suggest you ditch the 2.

  • You're right, only your viewpoint should be aired on national TV.

  • because thats exactly what i said. thanks for clarifying for everyone.

  • You're welcome. An empire needs to be very selective about what it allows on its airwaves.

  • You ALSO are so brain washed left, no clue what the real world is about, you get your 'information' from TV and all leftist skewed propaganda outlets. I guess, just like Hitler, we should wait and see who attacks us first. 9/11 was enough! You live with blinders, I suggest you do some REAL research, in hopes you can remove them. Your YouTube name gives you away.

  • Are you from Iran or Syria? Go home

  • Jon,

And you a-holes didn't slander the real leader of the free world, Bill Clinton! After $100,000,000 worth of bogus investigations, no man has ever been proven so innocent of slander and lies.

Bush is a feeble, lying imposer and will go to jail for treason. He vacationed on the Aug 06, 2001, 9-11 tip -- snoozed right through it, and then read "My Pet Goat" to kids after being told twice the country was under attack, then killed 500,000 Iraqis for their roll in 9-11.

  • You are a sick puppy. Get help.

  • You can hardly name one liberal talk show host because they all SUCK! It is not a matter of politics but a matter of intellect and talent. Both are missing from the liberal CV.

  • If you quantify intellectual contribution based upon talk show hosts then it explains a lot.

  • hey andrew197, been sheared lately?

  • aren't you happy your watching this video rather than being forcibly drafted into the military....

you have Mr. Mike Gravel to thank for that...he fought nixon and ended the draft...watch a video i made of his to see the power of his truth today

  • The downside of free speech = YouTube comments section. I'm kidding! If there exists a downside of free-speech it certainly isn't critizism of government policies. That's kinda sorta exactly what free speech was meant to protect.

  • Too bad you poor deluded idiots on the left of center believe all the lies being thrown at you from the wicked liberal media. And then you look down your nose as though you know it all! HA-HA! Wow! Bush has never criticized his detractors, you freak! And just how is America imperialist? Never mind; you can't spell anything- I'm sure you don't know what it means.

  • What liberal media? That's a disingenuous catchall at this point-- Most media is part of huge corporate packages that are interested in protecting corporate positions (i.e. largely Republican positions). Name 5 liberal radio show hosts. You can add them all and none have the audience of Rush and Bill. Almost all media was silent during the push for war. Hardly wicked. More like cowardly.

  • The poor deluded man... so... you are not allowed to criticise the President no matter how wrong he is... I thought Americans in the 40s fought a man who would not allow any criticism of his policies... he sent them to concentration camps... America is not imperilaist?? Come on Jon wake up and smell the cordite in Baghdad!!!

  • Hey Jon, pot or kettle?

  • I feel bad for how far removed this mans view is form reality ,but then he probably listens to O'Reilley

  • Not recognizing Karl Rove as a "cunning professional" and not seeing the vast propaganda machine that IS the White house is mind-boggling. Voight's conflating of fighting terrorism with the war in Iraq is just Cheney redux - so palapably wrong, its astounding.

I can see why Angelina doesn't want to have anything to do with her father. He's a right-wring lunatic, just O'Reilly.

  • You could use an ephiphany as well.

  • Bush:

    Outed a cover CIA agent (TREASON); Invaded Iraq on false pretenses & without a post-invasion plan; Drained the treasury; exhausted the Army; Created a breeding ground for terrorists; Alienated our allies; Destabilized the Middle East;

    Doubled the US debt; Injected the Bible into science & foreign policy; Made appointments on loyalty/faith, not competence; Wasted huge tax-dollars;

Bush & the neo-cons are destroying this country from within. That's a real epiphany for you.

  • Epiphany? I've been hearing the same bilge you posted from the left for years and you want to call it an epiphany? You're truly a mental midget. Again, typical Harry Reid talking points. Don't lecture me on thinking when you repeat ad infinitum the same regurgitated tripe over and over. You leftists are so fuckin' numb to reality.

  • Wow, and you think right wingers are sheep! Keep tuning into Rosie and Charlie Sheen you mindless fucking robot.

  • Typical neo-con trash-talk. Try thinking a bit before posting.

Anyway, I find extremists like Rosie & Voight both to be way off base.

(Rosie & 9/11; Voight can't tell the difference between war on terror & a grab for Iraqi oil)

Problem is, they both make partial sense and too many people let the sensible parts validate the nonsense.

So, much of what Voight says IS true -- bit the rest (the Bush line all the way) is a delusional & serious distraction from a real war on terror

  • Right. You've been smokin' that Dean weed too much, man. You're a fuckin' lemming.

  • Such language! Didn't your mother teach you any manners?

More neo-con trash-talk, shout-down without any spine to back it up.

People are catching on to this rather blunt technique of "debate", and mostly they're starting not to listen.

So, keep it up, you're only proving my case.

  • I'll stop cussing when you tone down the neo-con slander and stop repeating your prefab DNC talking points, deal? Keep thinkin' you're tough old man. Spine? What? Debate? You call your pseudo-facts debate? Anyone with more than two brain cells knows you're hand due to the fact that you play the same one over and over!! Debate, LOL! You and your ilk are laughable!

  • You only mind your mouth if someone agrees with you? Curious.

Fact sources are irrelevant; only validity matters. So, which facts I cited were untrue? The National Debt hasn't swelled? Colin Powell didn't say, "The Army is broken"? Cheney's office didn't out Valerie Plame? Which ones?

What have neo-cons done that is so great it outweighs all the harm? All I ever hear is how bad liberals are, all I see that under neo-con leadership, the country is in far worse shape now than 6.5 years ago.

  • Spine to the argument; this is not a personal attack on anyone's courage.

  • 500 characters just isn't enough. Look, Bush is incompetent. I agree with you on spending. The Army was broken before Bush had a chance to build it back up after the Clinton gutting...and he is such a tool we don't know if he would have. The whole Plame thing is a fabricated left-wing canard.

  • I haven't the time or the inclination to keep going back and forth with someone who interprets my posts to fit their specious agenda, sees the issues in black and white and insists only Bush and republicans are ruining the country. Keep being an ostrich, grandpa.

  • Only Republicans because the neo-cons (and evangelicals) have taken over that party. Its PNAC, the Heritage Foundation, Souther Baptists, etc. who've dragged the GOP and the Country down.

You still haven't pointed out one good thing the neo-cons have done. I guess because there aren't any.

  • I didn't know I needed to point them out. Thanks for elucidating the rules o ye arbitor of the rule book. Is this your idea of debate?

  • Neo-cons talk about how wrong everyone else is, but never really say what it is they've done that's so right. I asked for some facts, so I could learn about it. I'm not trying to set debate rules, but to figure out what evidence shows that neo-cons are at all good for the nation. So far, none.

So, throw some light on the subject.

  • the fact that you call conservatives "neo-cons" proves your hypocracy. what is it with that word? you think that conservatives are like hitler but you also think people like michael moore and others like him are americans. you're either smoking something or brain-washed by the media. if you believe the left and their antics, then you sir are weak minded. you might as well put a sheep costume on.

  • Valerie Plame wasn't a covert CIA agent in charge of nuclear proliferation? Cheney's office didn't leak her cover to the press?

This is the first actual lie I've seen you repeat.

  • That is right. She wasn't a covert agent under the law. Libby was found guilty of a process crime. Just because the DNC says it does not mean it is truth.

  • I will do some research on that point, find out more. I always willing to be corrected on facts like that, if I am indeed in error.

  • I'm impressed with your honesty and willingness to find the facts. If you want some resources, please message me and I'll provide.

  • Looks like Jon had an epiphany.

  • In his pants, I think. He so full of it, those sorts of accidents are unavoidable.

  • If Jon Voight, is a supporter of President George W. Bush, then he's totally awesome!

  • WELL SAID GBT14!!!

  • great interview at the above website of Jon's where he goes into much more detail on his thoughts.

  • w w w . radaronline.c o m/features/2007/04/jon_voight_1.php

  • its refreshing to see that not all of hollywood is so in love with itself that they can't see the forest from the trees. Voight does sound level headed & does seem to understand the situation we face. What a tragedy, the crap thats been fed to our school kids, too naive to really grasp the dangers we face. Divided we WILL fall. And yes, Bush SHOULD be respected. Something else todays 'kids' lack understanding about nor the ability to demonstrate.

  • respect, my friend, has to be earned (we shouldnt just respect him because hes the president, no one died to make him God)...can u honestly tell me that bush has gained that respect?

  • Dumbos... you don't get what he's trying to say. he's saying that the neo-cons "cunning professionals" pushing their agendas is shameful... we have a President that our children are ashamed of. We are a country of shame until we get this guy out of the oval office. he has done nothing, but put our country's sons and daughters at risk in the future.

  • Some patriotic people are deeply concerned about the long term security of America regardless of partisanship. Others are more concerned about defeating their partisan enemies for short-term political gain even if that means the humiliation of the United States.

What party does Voight belong to? It doesn't matter. What matters is that success of free men fighting for the blessings of liberty.

  • He should think before talking because I have heard some of his views in the past and they where in stark contrast to what he is saying here but Hollywood was giving him an Oscar for a War movie at the time and he was into all sorts of wired stuff back then as well. Too many people just sit and say nothing and that is not what America is about. Sure support your country but not policy that you personally disagree with it would be wrong to sit and say nothing.

  • Jon Voight has his head on straight. I have a ton of respect for him.

  • wow...jon voight=american propagandist...he should read a little about the history of american foreign policy before naively kissing bush's butt...

  • Jon Voight just gained a fan by his stunning display of rational thought on the O'reilly Factor. A rare celebrity who has not been infected by fringe left wing idealogues. As for masu's comments on foreign policy, I'm not sure a person from Switzerland has any room for debating on foreign policy since your policy for the last 500 years has been neutrality. Keep turning a blind eye to Nazi's and extremists of all kinds and we will continue to rescue you.

  • well im not swiss i just live here, but whats wrong with neutrality, it certainly doesnt kill as much as the united states...as for the blind eye comment, well its better to turn a blind eye than to murder thousands of innocent people all around the world in a quest for total hegemony, veto all UN security council resolutions that are not favorable to the us (and then criticise other countries for not complying with them)...shall i go on?

  • Better to turn a blind eye than liberate an entire continent from Nazi domination? Better to turn a blind eye than attempt to offer the Iraqis with a chance at democracy? A chance to build something constructive without the fears of Saddam's hit squads executing their men, raping their women, and chemically gas attacking their children. Is it better to turn a blind eye while your enemies plot new imaginative ways to sneak biological or nuclear weapons into your ports and destroy your cities?

  • The answer to all those questions if of course it is not best to turn a blind eye? However, you have that right to do so because dedciated people are willing to lay down their lives for you to disrespect and under appreciate them. Futhermore you are aware that Russia and China also veto every resolution they see as not beneficialy to them? Why the double standard..shall i go on?

  • everything u just said is a good description of what the usa has done to other countries, now that its been done to them, naturally, its unfair and we should kill them all, right? i respect the people that laid down their lives, i just dont respect the dolt that sent them to die...they (unfortunately) laid down their lives for Bush's wallet...no double standard, I never singled out the USA im against all vetoing

  • And aren't you just living in a fantasy world? I would love to live in the world you want where people are all peaceful to each other and everyone gets along. But guess what, that world doesn't exist and never will. Thats the difference here, you are an idealist and I am a realist. Its ok to keep blaming the greater force of freedom for the world's problems, but its not near intelligent or honest.

  • i dont blame the problems of the world on the usa...well the usa has done a lot of good for the world, but it certainly hasnt been a force for freedom...unless u think that by killing more people than any other country has we've freed those people...i think a peaceful world can exist (its inevitable actually) but we have to stop adopting imperialist, supremacist, let's-free-the-world attitudes (mind you, it's not only the USA)

  • ...oh and dont u talk about destroying cities, because my best friend just came back from baghdad and that city has been annihilated...if the usa wants people to stop producing, selling, or acquiring weapons then maybe it should think of settinig the example (ie not being a country that spends over 500 billion dollars on military expenditure) that might be a good start...

  • That city has been annihilated because the Iraqis have failed to control their own insurgency. Without public support an insurgency cannot last. It is not our fault that they have failed on following through by not banding together and forming a comprehensive government. Some people know of nothing else than to fight and the Muslims of Iraq cannot tolerate even slight differences among their own religion. How can we expect an insurgency to be uprooted if the people wont stand up for peace.

  • ok so let me see if im getting this straight...country X invades country Y illegally, strips it of its oil (through, say, a company well call, randomly, Halliburton) imposes a government with appointed officials (in a pseudo-democratic way)...all this based on false claims that iraq was linked to 9/11 and wmd's and all that bs...conclusion: the fault lies with country Y because it doesnt "control its own insurgency"...please tell me ur joking

  • ahhh the dream of liberation...why do u drink the fnc kool-aid man??? democracy?? an imposed regime is by definition UNdemocratic, if it were, the Iraqis would have asked for the USA to intervene...saddam was a ruthless dictator, not unlike many other dictators the us has installed in many third world countries...plus, out of all the bloody regimes, the us chose the one where there was the oil...hmm, why not N. Korea?

  • Finally why not N. Korea? Of course you cannot deal with NK until you get Chinese support or you risk a 3rd world war. They will be dealt with in time but not until the Chinese agree that their leaders are insane. You stop drinking the fringe left-wing koolaid and come down from your one world philosophy. Go to the streets of Tehran and see if they welcome your support. I'm sure you will be surprised at the treatment you will receive. Thats is as long as leave you alive.

  • One last note here. I am with you masu, I say we get out of Iraq right now. Its obviously a losing battle because we lack the proper support of the general public over there. As soon as we withdraw though you beilive Iraq will magically be peaceful. However the true case is that 3 religious factions will battle for total control of Iraq. The genocide will begin and they will have wished they had taken our support when they had the chance.

  • so as long as the us doesnt get the wrong people mad they can invade any country they want? i dont think iraq will magically be peaceful...but i think that the troops are in the middle of a civil war that they dont understand or control...well maybe they SHOULD fight for control, a crumbling house needs to be destroyed in order to be rebuilt...i would also like an end to bloodshed but remember NOBODY likes to be occupied

  • Ok, I have tired of posting on this topic and checking this video everyday. We are gonna have to agree to disagree b/c obviously you think ur right and i think i am right and we aren't changing each others mind. Rob them of their oil...then why the hell do my gas prices keep going up? Anyways, God bless America because if we can't be viewed as a hope for the world then nobody can.

  • gas prices go up because most people and most businesses are in business to make a profit...i agree, God bless America, but more importantly, God bless the world...because it is only through unity that we can achieve peace which we all hope for

  • US to world: "if you want to defend yourself from us, you had better mimic North Korea and pose a credible military threat, in this case, conventional: artillery aimed at Seoul and at US troops near the DMZ. We will enthusiastically march on to attack Iraq, because we know that it is devastated and defenseless; but North Korea, though an even worse tyranny and vastly more dangerous, is not an appropriate target as long as it can cause plenty of harm." The lesson could hardly be more vivid

  • you should, too, obviously.

great speech and he couldn't be more right.
