There is no historical evidence that there even was a Mohammed (unlike the person Jesus, from which there is some evidence from Romans talking about the Jew Jesus just after he died). Amazing - a president who actually adjusts his greeting to match the cultural norms of the leader he is working with rather than imposing his own cultural traditions on everyone else.
If you people would actually look at real politics rather than stupid stuff like this, you would see that Obama is MUCH more respected by the British people than George W. Bush, and MUCH less beholden to Middle Eastern oil interests than his predecessor. But to you a bow is more important than actual policy.

Actually the Queen takes offence if a person doesn't bow or does so reluctantly. It's a sign of disrespect to not bow to the Queen or to do so very slightly. The fact that his bow was more a nod of the head, and yet he seemed capable of bowing deeply to the Saudi king shows a complete lack of respect for the Queen, especially when highlighted by comparison as this video has.

You don't hink that's significant? The first president to bow to any foriegn head of state. Just shows he is incompetent to serve as commander in chief and sure as hell doesn't understand the fundamental principles of his position of power.

It shows he understands the fundamental principles of good manners, proper etiquette, and DIPLOMACY. Something his predecessor lacked. And before you rant about "totalitarian dictator", please consider the length of tongue Bush and Cheney used to lick this man's ass after 9/11. Oh, they LOVED the Saudi King, didn't they? err just so you guys know its part of the protocol to bow from the neck down only when greeting her majesty, the saudi monarchs are used to seeing a MUCH deeper bow, sometimes appearing like groveling, President Obama was just being polite in both cases. It just looks weird to you guys cause very few people have any need whatsoever these days to know what these protocols are...

Many Americans still don't realize the magnitude of the mistake make in this past election. Most do. Patriots must remain alert and in damage control mode to contain the harm being inflicted on the nation by our first full blown socialist president. He is being true to his ideology by pushing for already huge govt. to become exponentially more intrusive and powerful. How? Socialized medicine and Cap and Trade. Twin catastrophes in waiting. With all due respect to all of you guys OBAMA is great man and this is my opinion. Bowing to king of saudi is not a weakness sign, however in Arab Culture, all the young people are bowing and kissing the hands of old people such us parents and grand parents. so it is not a weakness. and by the way people in the middle east start highly respect OBAMA'S goernment and his policy. some day you may look at the TV and find out in each Arab country there is a US flag along with OBAMA'S pic.

He is the first U.S. President to bow like that to anyone... In the USA we threw off the yoke of royalty with the American Revolution. All men are created equal. And I am sorry --to bow to a Saudi who oppresses women, tortures, and convicts without jury...is a disgrace! A country's leader that has no civil rights for its people should not be honored this way AND no U.S President before Obama has.
