but ur question.. it isnt 12 generations there is more because the chain that u may have seen says the son of so n so.. in arabic this word is also used as grandfather or great great grandfather etc ..do u get what mean ?

also Habib Kadhim aswel he is a person that will remind u ofthe prophet SAW cuz of his inward n outward beauty this is the sme with habibUmar n habibAli. i went to a course for 10dayz inwales withhabib kadhim nwith no exaggeration at all i had the best time of my life this course takes place every year.. inshAllah i'll let u knw on that aswell.
habib ali is a great scholar from the blessed Tarim,Yemen and also is from the blessed and beloved family of our noble prophet SAW. He has changed lives of so many and whenever he comes to the uk alot of people come to islam in his hands .. his presence is so amazing... to find out more type his name in google it shuld come up Habib ali al jifri

Jazakallah khayr for getting back to me. I have a genuine question bro. I had not heard of Sheikh Habib Ali before yesterday, and having heard some of his lectures since then, and having seen his beautiful character and charisma, I can't help but have some Islamic affection for this man. The thing is, if he is indeed a descendant of rasoolAllah, it would explain the sense of inner peace/contentment he seems to embody, but of course this is not exclusive to just the noble descendants of rasool(p)
Anyway, I am someone who likes to be sure before believing something. I had a look at his geneology and of course it is stated that it is unbroken. It seems like there are about 12 generations or so linking him to rasoolAllah. If this is so, it means each generation must have lived over 100 years. Is this correct.
This is a genuine question brother, I really don't have a problem with accepting him as a descendant if it is true.
YAAAA ALLAH..these people r just so Amazing man i swear when u see em u'll staryt away wthout even realizing will b in dhikr of allah n his messenger SAW.. n will have a sense of awe thats out of this world u'll feel like ur on another planet i swear its jus soo AMAZING
