  • I love Hope's youthful voice here,at 18!This song proves she was writing top notch songs in her teens,&demonstrates she already possessed her rare genius for writing emotive melodies. My least fave Hope singing style is her (live)Opal era('88-'90ish).She seems to have felt obliged to "belt it out" to be "acceptable" as a rock singer.Imo,she sounds better in '85&later on in Mazzy, especially the 2nd&3rd albums,&solo. Her style's kept evolving&she has so much nuance&control by now. She's a wonder!

  • Hope has said an early Rolling Stones song called "Going Home" was always a fave & an influence: so, an obvious source for the name of her duo with Sylvia Gomez. But it occurs to me the song title might also reference the names of the two in the duo. The first two letters of each word in the song title/duo's name happen to be the 1st two letters of one or other of the musicians' names, GO & HO. As in (Sylvia) GO(mez) & HO(pe Sandoval). Trivia!

  • these are amazing! where did you get these?

  • Just go to the Mazzy Star Boulevard website and click forums. Search Opal/Clay Allison live, and you'll find many links to live shows by Rain Parade, Clay Allison, Opal(w/Kendra), Going Home, Opal(w/Hope), Mazzy Star, Hope Sandoval, Kendra Smith and Suki Ewers!

*Search google IMAGES for "Opal Early Recordings" to find a blogspot to upload both volumes from (offical & bootleg).

    Happy Hunting!
