Well that pretty much sums up that stupid book. I've read almost all of SK books, short stories etc and I have to say that this was pretty damn low. I really recomnd the Dark Tower thou. He really outdid himself there.

I am a new found Stephen King fan and I have read about 7 of his books (3 of them short story collections) in a period of about 6 weeks. I know that Stephen King takes his time building up his characters in his novels and his supernatural phenomena can normally be classified as 'intelligent'. While the plot of this story definitely is not intelligent it got me hooked from the first page (it plunges straight in to the action bits, very unlike King)

@behi667 I am only halfway throught the book now and I'm still enjoying it, but it has a dawn of the dead feeling to it, so I am hoping that we will be given a believable explanation at the end.

So the point of my long winded msg is that I agree with you, but not completely. I think with 'Cell' King has focused more on giving us thrills and raising our heart beats more than giving us an intelligent, yet truly horrifying story. I haven't finished it yet, so I mihgt change my mind later! lol

The Cell is the first book by Stephen King Ive read and now I am fond of this author and all his books.

This man is really rock.. He feels all our fears, he can take us out of this world in his own one, where dark dark tower stands and waits for everyone, who believes in it!!

I did like Cell, though it just didn't grip me the way King's earier work has done, definatley not my fave. But for that reason I think I could really enjoy the film adaptation, unlike so many really good King stories that were roont on screen.

This is a good teaser trailer. Nice job, Mikestir. Kind of like "The Shining", just eluding to the horror. Rumor has it Eli Roth ("Hostel") will be directing this into a big budget Hollywood shocker but I've also read its on hold. I'd love to see this adapted to a film. The fact (in the book) we never know who sent out the Pulse is extremely unsettling. Maybe the movie would explore this more given open ended films don't tend to make money. Carpenter's lesser horror films are a classic example.

I have read quite a few of King's works, but I have to say, this was one of his greatest books. Had me on the edge of my seat till the end, I highly advise reading it.

Cell is great, a page turner. but what was going on? who was in charge of the cells? read and reread still don't know anything, does anyone have any idea about what happened that day when the world (maybe just the U.S. Mr. King never tells us) received a wrong number. somebody give me answers. does King even know himself?
