The slower tempo allows one to hear the instrumental groups and nuances better. It also allows the conductor to control the dynamics which was always a Klemperer forte. Still, by this time I think he had slowed it up a little too much.

Wonderful in every way. Clarity is upmost, speed doesn't matter if the balance and articulation are right.
