i got vicodin for an ongoing back problem( herniated discs in back ) and have decent muscle definition from working out most my life..but ive noticed since taking vicodin as needed the last couple months that it seems ive gotten some muscle weakness and loss of a little strength..this sounds dumb but has anyone else run into this?
@MrBLuEx69 You can't. That us why the pill is scored, meaning even if you break it in half, you will get 2.5mg of hydrocodone, and 250mg of acetaminophen (assuming it's Vicodin 5/500). You can't cut one of the corners and just get only hydrocodone.

@Butown We dont get Hydrocodone here in England..but we do get Oxycodone and Hydromorphone..It just seems every Doctor in America seems willing to write a script for narcotic pain medication for things as mild as a stubbed toe..Also, how many other people out there believe if House's (Hugh Laurie) character in reality would be on something MUCH better and stronger than Vicodin? She lied to me about how much she took and when.. And it just caused a lot of friction. So.. Take this for what you will, I'm never touching it.
@lailum It gives you a slight high, and a feeling of well being. The drug can act very quick, (within 10 minutes) you will feel the full effect around the 45 minute mark. Do not drive for about 5 hrs. The effects last for about 3 to 5. Do not take it on a full stomach...it does not work as well if you eat a meal...also don't take it on a empty stomach too. Eat a yogurt first, something very light.
i got one of these pills at the doctor for a torn tendon in my finger, because they thought it was dislocated, and the pill complete dissolved all of my anxiety...it was awesome.

Man i had some syrup of hydrocodone but each time i did it i took like 10-15mg and i barely felt anything, whats so good about these opiates? It was my first time too and i felt pretty normal.

Fifteen mg hydrocodone is alot for your first time, dependeing on body weight.
When a large enough dosage (15-20) is ingested the euphoric effects are easily noticable; flushed face, itchiness, drowsiness etc.. You can feel the opioid "coursing through your veins," so to speak.
vicodin is a sleeping pill when i got those when i sprained my ankle they make u tired and sleep to 4-8 hours after taking it trust me i took one and i was asleep in less then 4-8 hours

@Butown We dont get Hydrocodone here in England..but we do get Oxycodone and Hydromorphone..It just seems every Doctor in America seems willing to write a script for narcotic pain medication for things as mild as a stubbed toe..Also, how many other people out there believe if House's (Hugh Laurie) character in reality would be on something MUCH better and stronger than Vicodin? I love HOUSE..great show..although it is becoming more like dawsons creek with every passing episode!

Thanks to the bastards that go to docs and and pretend they are in terrible pain, the docs now won't prescibe anything of it's sort for fear of loosing their licence. Most currently prohibited psychoactive drugs need to be legalized and regualted. Then opioid users could purchase their drugs at designated establishments, perhaps clinics or pharmacies.

If one needs drugs to get to that happy place, one should first consider therapy. It's the users who are causing the shut down of medical use for those who are ill/in pain. However, legalizing the majority of currently prohibited psychoactive drugs is about more than mere "freedom of choice," it''s about literally saving lives. The aleged "war on drugs" hurts citizens on a daily basis. Violence and murder is used to settle diputes over the illicit sale of drugs.

They both control the pleasure center, both mind altering and damaging, however, in all honesty, alcohol starts breaking the body down, physically and mentally. I don't believe for a minute darvocet was withdrawn because of some bad ingredient, and yet vicodin is alive and well. All drugs come with risks. Ppl can become as ill, if not moreso by taking too much tylenol. The reason is too many ppl were enjoying the happy effect of it. So, let's pull it. They are trying to micro mng. But they did it w/o a replacement. Even my dr admitted to this.

My mother and my step father both abused methamphetamine when they were younger, mother white crosses, step dad crystal meth. clean now thankfully, and luckily. I dated a girl who wasn't really abusing, but "needed them for pain" about three or four times a week, and she would often cry when she couldn't get some from her grandma, who was prescribed.. She lied to me about how much she took and when.. And it just caused a lot of friction. So.. Take this for what you will, I'm never touching it.

@lailum It gives you a slight high, and a feeling of well being. The drug can act very quick, (within 10 minutes) you will feel the full effect around the 45 minute mark. Do not drive for about 5 hrs. The effects last for about 3 to 5. Do not take it on a full stomach...it does not work as well if you eat a meal...also don't take it on a empty stomach too. Eat a yogurt first, something very light.

Nausea is a common side effect of opioids, when abused and when taken for therapeutic purposes.

Fifteen mg hydrocodone is alot for your first time, dependeing on body weight.
When a large enough dosage (15-20) is ingested the euphoric effects are easily noticable; flushed face, itchiness, drowsiness etc.. You can feel the opioid "coursing through your veins," so to speak.
