Another vulgar deconstruction of a great opera. Fiordiligi is resisting to the end, why make her an air-head? How distasteful these modern distortions are.
for me, this quartet contains the most moving fiteen seconds in the 4 Mozart's chef d'oeuvre= 1:32-1:57 Gugliemo (apart) thinks the contrary of what they all sing. Happy to find you back but I cant forget your betrayal. This is the hidden meaning of all the work : just like in real life, we love but we cant forget, but as we love we go on, hoping that we will forget. Thanks fuzzcerts. Nora
Excellents chanteurs doublés d'excellents comédiens, aussi agréables à regarder qu'à écouter, Mozart et Da Ponte se régalent certainement autant que nous !
absolute proof of God s existence and love for us -the complexity and simplicity of the human predicament-as only the genius of Mozart can portray! Eternal grace
I really like the way Pisaroni sings his part here. Many times the Guglielmo really spits out his phrases with too much venom here and to my ears disrupts the music. Here he blends with the music very nicely but still makes his feelings quite clear... :-P
I bought several DVDs of this Cosi as gifts for friends this summer. They all loved it. Maybe I should treat myself with a Blue-ray version this Christmas. ^^
Lehtipuu and Persson are teaming up again in next summer's Glyndebourne revival of The Rake's Progress. I can't wait to see it! (Well, at least, the DVD of their performance.)
This glorious music floats into the senses and is so other-worldly it is breathtaking. This DVD with this music, beautiful performers is an absolute MUST to have. Bravo !
Cosi Fan Tutte is in my opinion one of the most sublime pieces of ... The beauty of this music is otherwordly From innocence to corruption. From unity to disintegration. Cosi is of such genius, wisdom, complexity, harmony, beauty and deep pain. Vows are spoken To be broken Feelings are intense Words are trivial Pleasures remain So does the pain Words are meaningless And forgettable
Ferrando looked as if he was genuinely smitten with Fiordiligi--his facial expression revealed that she took his breath away. All of this made the quartet even more beautiful.
@FuzzyCerts Would you - or anyone else - happen to know why two "Cosi" scores I looked at didn't appear to have this quartet? Is this quartet generally not used? I did see a production of "Cosi" late last year and I don't think this quartet was included either (!).
This is a gorgeous Così. Well, the Rivenq´s D.Alfonso is poor, Garmendia´s Despina lacks personnality, but he "fab four" - Persson, Vondung, Pisaroni and Lehtipuu... uauu! They´re beautiful, sexy and, most of all, they sing so well!... This tercetto is the proof - gorgeous!!!
This is an awesome clip. I've watched all other clips featuring Persson and would love to see more of Lehtipuu. Could you post videos of his "Un'aura amorosa" and "Tradito, schernito"? PLEASE???? :)

You don't have to but it does help if you have a brief synopsis of the story. Or,if you have time, learn Italian and German.

Ferrando seems to have forgotten about Dorabella but it's clear that Guglielmo has not had the same change of heart about Fiordiligi...

After having tried my best to wear out the DVD, I just bought the Blu-ray of this production. It's obviously even better than the DVD :)

I think that probably Mozart would have loved to see and hear his Cosi in Glyndebourne 2006.
Unbeatable !!!

Come on, Rivenq and Garmendia are also brilliant, as everything in this Cosi.

This short piece is amazing. I have always liked Mozart, but these singers make it something stellar. Bravo!!!!

And although I find Pisaroni more my type, I would just melt if a man looked at me the way Lehtipuu looked at Persson at 0:32...
