Its an AKMSU a shortened AK 47 .Look at the magazine in the gameplay its out of metal.

Metal magazines were produced for 7.62 x 39 .And furthermore it has an under reciever folding stock like the one in COD 4.

i love the ak-74u it's my best weapon on mw3 and black ops i use ghis grip and extended mag perks scavenger because it's a very high fire rate so i use warlod for multipule attachments and hardline to run kill streaks fast and it is powerful gun so recomend this gun a must have gun and i name class kick ass gun

@Eminem117Nas Like it mattered. In MW2, the UMP was dominant close range and long range. In Black Ops, the 74u was that OP gun that was a hipfire beat and unbeatable close range. In MW3, the UMP is nerfed long range and 74u isn't even in multiplayer. But it doesn't matter. The MW2 UMP is found in the MP7 while the 74u from Black Ops is now found in the PP90.

How does the rapid fire increase the damage so greatly? It seems that it would more likely appear to do more damage due to the speed but not actually increase the damage itself. Can someone please explain this to me?

Primary-Ak74 with a grip and rapid fire (The reloud time is quick, just find cover and reloud)

Secondary- Stela 3

Grenades- Tomohawk, Concussion

Equitment- Tactical Insertion (I play CTF often)

Perks- Hardline (I just gotta share 1 more CP), Warlord Pro, Marathon Pro

This is an awesome class. I got tons of killstreaks, and I got the most points in a match. Use it, you might like it.

Why do they classify this Assault rifle as a Submachine gun? a submachine gun is something that uses PISTOL rounds, and last time i checked the 5.45X39mm is an intermediate RIFLE round.

@adamized210 guess what. size does not mean anything in official designations. an AR-15 modification that will be half as big than the m4 variant will still be an "assault rifle" if it fires the 5.56 despite its size. a submachine gun is not a small automatic. a Submachine gun is something that uses Pistol ammo. if something uses an intermediate rifle round, it is an Assault rifle. full stop.
