  • to you folks (from china) who complain about the content of this video. I'm sorry - I'm just the messenger. These children and monks walked away from their families and loved ones to come to freedom in India. The Indian has been very generous to the Tibetan people, offering them a place to settle. They have no money so they can use our help. I'm sorry for the tragic loss of the monks and their families who have been killing themselves rather than flee Tibet. They feel they have no hope. Awful.

  • Very interesting.

  • China was once Buddhist. I think the Chinese "workers paradise" will soon fall of its own weight. The Chinese people may rise up and oust the party parasites that live in rich splendor along the coast. China may then have a happy relapse into Buddhism and true democracy. Tibet may be the virus that brings the Chinese party bosses down. The Tibetan liberation of China is a real possibility.

  • as i know they can return to tibet in any time, no one will stop them. it's a promise made by deng xiaoping in 1980s, isn't it?

  • Tibetans are Chinese, my friends.

    Invading Tibet is invading China.

    Study Dalai Lama's middle-way.

  • History, I'm sorry to say, doesn't support the second sentence. When you do go to Lhasa, Gyantse, or even Kailash, you'll see very clearly that Tibet is, and has always been, different and separate from China. The world knows China has only been in Tibet for only 60 years, illegally; China attacked Tibet in 1906, then again in 49, and finally, in 1959. No matter how many times people say "Tibet is part of China," won't make it true. Chinese and Tibetans should be friends; they're neighbors.

  • @martinifilm tibet has been internationally recognized by historians from all countries as a part of China since 1750s longer than the existance of USA, Australia or Cananda, so by the same logic those countries must give their land and soverignty back to the navtives of the respective countries then point fingers at China :) btw i dont see how tibet is currently not a part of China, with my Chinese passport im able to go to tibet anytime i want and live their for long as i want.

  • @obsidianstatue The Canadians living in the province of Quebec (originally signed the Canadian confederation in 1867) have twice voted on whether they could gain sovereign independence from Canada. Did you know that? The majority did not win the vote and so they remain part of Canada. Just because a place is part of a country today does not mean it always will be. The people of that land decide. Oh and congratulations to south Sudan who will be an independent nation in just 4 more days!!

  • @ obsidianstatue

Relations Between The Dalai Lamas of Tibet and the Manchu Qing Dynasty do not show that Tibet was Part Of China

  • @martinifilm

I love your comment. (Can't seem to give out thumbs up.)

In particular, your last sentence, which I have never seen written anywhere. I spent time with some Tibetans here in Australia. One person hates the Chinese, but another lived in the Kangding region, spoke Chinese as well as other languages, and didn't express hatred.

I'm not oversentimental, including about children, but these kids are exquisite. Want to wipe milk off face of sweet cheeky little boy at 6mins.

  • @lycopene1 no way, different language look different in all ways total different..

  • @lycopene1 tibet WAS a country but china came and toke it now its china where do you thing free tibet protests are for ?

  • China/Chinese you should be ashamed of what you are doing to this Tibetan people and there country...I just couldn't understand how can Chinese people take someone else freedom when they themselves have experience the same or even worst treatment of cruelty from the Japanese back in WW2. I ask u China to bring peace and harmony to u'r Chinese peoples heart so they can see the light and feel love once again...

  • Jokhang or “House of the Lord,” Temple in Lhasa is the most revered and intensely spiritual holy site in Tibet. It is the destination for pilgrims of Tibetan Buddhism, and provides continued evidence of a tradition that had its beginnings over 1k years ago. Pilgrims prostrate themselves in prayer in front of the main entry. Some come hundreds of miles in a continuing prostrate position, body length by body length.

  • the world is sick of red china's twisted view of history. they conveniently mix up all the past empires, and justify occupying tibet and uyghur. if this stupid logic is valid, the english can lay claim to a third of the world XD the fact is, TIBETANS ARE NOT CHINESE. if these people cannot practice their religion freely, in their tongue with their own unique culture, and are driven out of their land, why should they remain under a dictatorship of a different people? FREE TIBET!

  • whatis going to happen to these children? when will they get to see there parents?Howmanychildren come to the refugee community from Tibet and what can we Americans do to help them.?

  • They are taken care of by the Tibetan Government in Exile - they have a school that provides for them, gives them shelter and education - it's impoverished, when I was there, they didn't have fresh water, got it from a stream that ran down the hill. I was told a fresh water pump only cost $1500, but I didn't have the dough to give it to them. If you Google Tibetan children's school, you'll find some sights, try tvc.org.in

  • Part 2 of 2

If all of us are able to see others are parts of ourselves then we can have love and compassion for others. Image when it happens on a universal scale; there would be humanity working together for the mutual benefit of all beings. It is possible and one day each and every single one of us will hopefully realize this. Respect and love one another is the same message from the HHDL, Jesus, Mother Teresa, Ghandi and other great beings have tried to teach us...maybe we should all listen

  • Part 1 of 2

I pray that one day all human beings on this planet will realize that world peace is possible if we are able to see beyond this illusion of separation. We are all the same beyond the color of our skin, creed, language...etc...we are all part of the human family. We need to stop fighting each other and instead challenge the systems of "programming" done by the governments, big corporations and religious dogma that emphasize fear, scarcity, bigotry and divisiveness among its people.

  • free tibet boycott china

  • Free Tibet,Free China ,Boycott Chinese goods and services. It is immoral to by products made using slavery in totalitarian states especially when the only reason to by these sub-standard dangerous products is an illusion of convenience.

  • I think the Chinese people can survive just counterfeiting and racketeering. It's a thief nation.

    Free TIBET !!

    Go to hell bandit gang

Made in China = false and poor quality products

  • why r they only men?

  • why are who only men? the children are boys and girls, the tibetan teens from norbulingka are boys and girls, the recent refugees are boys and girls. what women did you want me to interview besides the young girl who was tortured in prison for putting up a banner?

  • Note that China pays their web surfers .50 usd (fifty cents club) for inserting lies onto the Web. The biggest effort at spreading lies in the history of the world. U can spot them via their foul language and slurs on HH Dalai Lama. Beware of these scum.

  • How come the refugees are only monks and children. This is a piece of make believe. There are many Tibetans living in India e.g. in Leh,Sikkim for ages and they're used to act as refugees from Tibet. Actually the reverse is happening due to the big economy difference between the two Tibetan communities.

  • Why ask if you don't want to hear the answer? if you listened to the film, children are sent by parents to connect with Tibetan culture because they can't (afford to) teach it to their children in Tibet. They send them so they can learn Tibetan and about Tibet but will never see them again. The monks were tortured and let out of prison or forced from the monastery so they come to practice Buddhism. There's also a doctor who got sick of being forced by the Chinese to sterilize Tibetan women. OK?

  • The best solution now, is for the all Tibetan to escape to India and wait for regime change or embrace communism, change your name to chinese name and speak madarin, just all those red Indian in US did - assimilate.

  • This is not true at all. They should not assimilate. By assimilating they would forfeit all of the key values their culture once held dear. What they should do is remember the old ways and not let them fade as time passes.

  • I appreciate the thought - it's a debatable sentiment. Its the same problem with Palestinian refugees - if they assimilate, who will remember they are refugees? But I've spoken to a Tibetan monk who is adamant that the Tib Gov in Exile's position of not allowing Tibetans to assimilate - become citizens of Nepal or India, is wrong. That they should be allowed to better themselves. That is a topic for a greater discussion, and should be examined in terms of human rights as well as helping Tibet.

  • martinifilm: how then is it that a Tibetan showed me her India passport and left to join her family that had received farm land from India. Please do not say stupid things while you are supporting Tibetans. In many contacts myself, I never met a Tibetan who could not wait to discard Tibetan-ness; they all wanted to go back and be Tibetans if Tibet could be free.

  • I'm not saying I agree with the complaint - it was made to me by a Tibetan Monk who lives in another country, he was referring to his family living in Nepal. Maybe things have changed. I'm very glad your Tibetan friend has an Indian passport and owns land in India. Next time I see my friend, I'll let him know his complaint doesn't apply to everyone. Did you really mean "stupid?" Just watch the film, its pretty clear what Tibetans think of leaving their home country for a shot at freedom.

  • @k4vud: I think India issues special refugee passport for Tibetans to travel. Tibetans have their own govt within India. They dont need Indian citizenship. The only advantage is choosing the state & central leaders, which I dont think they would care anyway. Apart from that, the refugees pretty much have the same rights as anybody else. In fact the community is considered as the most successful refugee community in the world.

  • Sorry about the "stupid" remark of mine. My passion boils over at bad times, sometimes. I shot video for my film, "I Walked Out" of 15 Tibetans who had done just that. What stories they told!!! FREE TIBETAN BUDDHISTS under China!

  • @martinifilm: Whether Tibetans want Indian citizenship or not is not relevant. The refugee community has pretty much the same rights as every other citizen, except voting rights. Considering that they have their own tiny govt within India, they couldn't ask for anything better. Regardless of Tibet's freedom, this community will live freely forever & protect their culture and identity in India, just as the Jews (since 500BC) and Parsis (since 700AD) have done.

  • good point. I wasn't making the argument, but met a Tibetan monk who lives in Rome who made the complaint. However, the history of refugees in general, Palestinian, European begs the question as to why communities don't blend in with the local population. it's usually about work permits. in Italy, gypsies can't get work permits, even though some of the lands they came from (yugoslavia) no longer exist. it's a point worth examining, and I have no stance on it.

  • @martini, I really cried after watching those kids ! God bless you for your work.

  • @SuperKinja thank you. they touched me as well.

  • you watch dog of red china .free chinese free tibtan

  • this is a relatively free place to speak your mind, but I won't tolerate name calling. Its an old joke I once heard from an old monk; "don't go around calling people dogs in a country where dogs are considered "fine dining." But I agree with your sentiment - a free China (one person one vote, the old guard run out of town, the gang of guanxi politicians sent packing, chinese people voting their conscience, their passion, their hearts, the sleeping dragon roused to human rights) will free Tibet.

  • White People are HYPOCRITES when commenting about Tibetan repression by the Chinese. WHITES peoples from Europe have committed far more cultural repression, genocide, and plastered their own kind around the face of the Earth by brutally displacing and enslaving other races and cultures than the Chinese ever have.

  • Normally I don't allow these kinds of obnoxious "you're just as bad as we are!" posts. Those of us in the US who share a history with the Europeans who wiped out the native Americans, are particularly aware of when injustice is being done in the name of "our country." To help Tibet is to help mankind and yourself. For me there is no Tibet, there is no China, there is no Europe. We share the planet as humans, we need to treat our fellow humans with respect. Free China = Free Tibet.

  • Then why don't you move back to your homeland in Europe or Asia or Latin America or Africa and then restore North America to pre-Columbus era? Set a good example and then lecture the Chinese, and I guess you'll have a little bit more moral advantage.

  • Why not take a trip to Tibet and see for yourself? There's no need for me to lecture you or anyone about the abuse that goes on there. Go and see for yourself. Once you've been, then you can express your strong opinion either way. I've been. I can see that you haven't. But don't believe me, or the people speaking in this film. Make your own film showing how much fun it is for Tibetans in occupied Tibet. How much the Han like Tibetans. Lecture whomever you want. It's a free country. Isn't it?

  • dude, you're dodging my question. If the US wants to really take the moral advantage, then it should at least do some justice to native Americans, hmm? Otherwise, how can the US persuade China when the whole issue of Indian slaughter and abuse goes unresolved?

  • Since 1832 US has recognized NA lands as sovereign - just didn't treat them as such (until casinos.) Fyi, some Native Am's' DNA is identical to people from the Tibetan plateau (Nat. Geo) Hopis and Bon Tibetans share the swastika as a symbol of eternity. US won't get China to do anything. Chinese will have to liberate themselves. Once China has finished depleting Tibet, what echoes are left will be turned into monuments to a culture that once saw the potential in the human spirit. Go and see it.

  • georgelei1573, you are deflecting, as most CCP supporters do on the Tibet and Xinjiang issue. America isn't the only country in the world with people who oppse the treatment of Tibet. There are people from numerous nations who oppose it, do you look into the history of all those nations searching for some actions in their past with which you can deflect??

  • There are many of us in America who happen to be mixed with Native and European blood. What are we to do in your scenerio?? And how does attacking Americas history change what is currently happening to Tibetans as we speak?? The fact remains, Han Chinese are coming in droves to Tibetans and Uigher lands, changing the demographics, changing the majority religions. languages and racial makeup of these lands for the first itme in Chinese history! IT IS THE SAME THING that happened in America!

  • In the west, it's been the labour government, that has gone back on promises to free world on Tibet. The dickhead Miliband started the ball rolling by saying tibet belonged to china, followed by the other fool, Obama, again going against history!

What is the matter with these stupid fools, have they lost their brains?

Has any other western power given approval to china's occupation of Tibet?

  • It was the league of Nations that doomed Tibet to this status, as they refused to recognize them because of British treaties and China's influence. Isolationism has its benefits and perils; on one hand it made Tibet as deeply spiritual country, on the other hand it allowed others to dictate its fate. Not a single country recognizes Tibet as a country. What is needed is a "recognize Tibet as a country campaign" and the first country to do so will be the bravest country on earth.

  • well, actually.. the Tibetans did themselves no favor by currying the influence of the Russians in 1904 - the end result sent Brit troops marching into Lhasa, and that sojourn inspired the Chinese to invade a few years later. The truth, as ugly as it is, if Tibet had allowed the Brits in, by 1949 (59) they would still have a nation - like nepal, sikkim and even india. Consider Mongolians, who labored under Soviet rule until one day.. the Russians packed up n' split. Tibet should be so lucky.

  • The DEMISE of the Chinese Communist Party is only a matter of time.

  • You sincerely believe a non-Communist government would permit Tibetan independence? Look at what the non-Communist government did to Chechens and you know the answer!

  • 4% of China belongs to the party (their stats). once the great people of China throw off the yoke of their govt oppressors, they will see the lies they've been fed by their govt about Tibet. One day they will even embrace Tibetans as brothers instead of slaves once they know the truth. If you went to Tibet, you'd see that. If you watch the doc, you'd know that. Stalin screwed the Chechens and Russia is still paying for it. Refugees are the same the world over; wanting justice. Open a book, svp

  • Hi my name is Tenzin. i came over to India when i was 21. i never been to School before in tibet. i studied in India for 7years. Even i didnot get much of Edcation as i should. but i am living the Australian dream. enjoying the freedom. what a great feel of have human freedom. its great. Tibet will be free.

  • i hope so ,but but but ,some sacrficed their precious life for tibet inside tibet, .dann most just sit around desk

just talk but do nothing in action, since 1959 get free tibet from china ,never never ,because tibetan like be slaved

  • "tibetan like to be slaved"? oy. get over yourself.

  • I just took a trip a month ago across the Navajo nation in Arizona and New Mexico, and most Indians there don't even speak their native language! They speak English among themselves! Have you ever witnessed the plight of native Americans in America? At least the Tibetan language is preserved in Tibet, hmm? If all non-natives evacuated themselves from the US, then the West can really give a good lecture to China, through this vivid example, that China should evacuate all Chinese out of Tibet!

  • Tibetans have preserved their culture at great risk to themselves. Navajos also preserve their culture - but were invaded 250 years ago. China invaded Tibet 60 yrs ago. With the Han invasion, Tibetans will lose their native tongue in 200 years as well. People aren't lecturing Chinese people about Tibet - it's the govt. in Beijing - the assholes who repress and torture Tibetans. Mao. Zemin. You're equating "China" with "Chinese" and acting as if you're being insulted. Free China - Free yourself.

  • i just realized you are an ignorant idiot. "Navajos also preserve their culture - but were invaded 250 years ago" ----> 2010 - 250 = 1760, and the US didn't even exist back then! China invaded Tibet in 1959, which is 51 years ago instead of 60. Please get your figures right before making any arguments.

  • Oh, it took you til now to realize how ignorant I am? While you're at it, why don't you look up the history of the US? Gee, when was Santa Fe settled? And by whom? The Navajo nation wouldn't appreciate you thinking that only people from England count when it comes to being settled. Or slaughtered. China invaded Tibet in 49 for the record. Took over in 59. Liberate yourself by going to Tibet. All your questions will be answered. Let go of your anger. China will leave Tibet one day. Free China!

  • @martinifilm Thank you very much for the film. It is really touching. The sad thing is, this kind of oppression is not at all a Chinese characteristic. They have been a peaceful nation for millenia & victim themselves. Most Chinese posters surprisingly dont get it through their heads. They think that the animosity rest of the world feel towards CCP is the same as towards Chinese ppl/culture ! May be the Chine posters here are the english educated CCP fan boy elitists.

  • Glad you enjoyed the film superkinja. I just happened to be in Dharamsala making a Cd with the Nechung Monks when these refugees arrived. I didn't plan to make the film - as you can see when you watch it - just asked them why they came here. I was as surprised as anyone as to their stories. Sad. Awful. Deeply meaningful. When the Chinese govt complains about the Dalai Lama, people should hear these Tibetans speak for themselves about their own country. Thanks for posting. And I agree re: CCPrs

  • @martinifilm, This doc is really an eye opener for me. In India, there is not much coverage about the Tibetan exiles. I hope the pro-CCP block in India sees this. How is their life style in Dharamsala ? Are their needs met ?

  • I live near the Navajo and you are full of shit georgelei. Navajo is still the most widely spoken native language and one of the few cases where a native people have held on to their culture against an onslought of foreign culture and language. For you to use Native Americans as an example is not only sad, but as a part Cherokee I must say it is rather insulting. You use what happened to one people as a deflection from arguments against what your people are doing RIGHT NOW.

  • that one girl came all by herself! I hope her life turns for the better in India

  • i support cause of tibet...free tibet....love budhism can any one help me in this regard to know & follow it iam in delhi...

  • Im a college student in China,as a Chinese.I love my country, not beacause i'm Chinese, but also my country make such progress.I believe all Chinese love peace.Tibetien people have lived with ourself for thousands of years peacefully and we share the same country.

  • Thank you for posting. I love China too. I also happen to love Tibet, which is another country, with a different culture and history. You should travel to Tibet to see for yourself. Tibetans are not Chinese, never will be Chinese. However, its odd to argue that anyone owns anything on the planet, if history tells us anything; life, nations, people are transitory. All Chinese may love peace, but every Han businessman I met in Lhasa hated Tibet, the food, the people, the climate. Free China Tibet

  • You must be sleeping, over 1.3 people were killed, thousands monasteries been destroyed, you think these kids come for pleasure to India:

Your regime is a Totalitarin Regime.

Prosecuting own people like Falungong People.

It is not a "harmonious society" , it will break apart soon or later. You will experience that.

  • Can someone tell me what this opening mantra is? I recognize it often in the many Buddhist videos but have no idea which mantra it is or even if it is a mantra.

    Thanks...

  • It's "Prayer To The Three Jewels" performed by the Nechung Monks - I produced their CD "Nechung Monks Live" which you can find at CDBaby and itunes. It was recorded live in the Nechung Monastery, a group of monks who pray for the long life of the Dalai Lama on a daily basis, they'd never been recorded before. Check it out.

  • Praise Buddha's pure Quality.

    i think

  • I wait for the day when the majority of Chinese discover the injustice done to themselves, then they will change their minds about Tibet, too. Freedom of speech is a basic right!

  • i support tibet...keep fighting...

  • Fuck, those kids will barely have a future, even if they get an "education." Something has to be done, China has too get the fuck out of Tibet.

  • tibet doesnt deserve this.

  • Chinas CCP is the World Leader in: 1) Lying 2) Torture 3) Racism 4) Brutality 5) Executions 6)? Repression 7) Slave Prisons 8) Internet Censorship 9) Human Rights Abuse 10) Disgusting Vulgar Speech 11) Brainwashed Uneducated Morons 12) Killing : 50 mil Chinese &1 Mil Tibetans
  • Tibetian people suffering like that so wrong.

TIBET should be a FREE country.

  • This is not fact. It is lie

  • I am sure Tibetians have some links to mongolians, kyrgyz, kazakh, hakas people.they do look like us.hope this evil Chinese Government will Free them as they need to free our brothers in Urumchi, Zinjan area.Freedom to Tibet!Support from Kyrgzystan

  • Hey, Chinese and Tibetan look damn alike

  • Do you think H.H. the Dalai Lama looks Chinese ???

Tibetans are not Chinese and they look different.

  • @darkingwing, Tibetans and Chinese have absolutely NO resemblance in appearance

  • refugee are just like any immigrants in any part of the world what kind of Education are the Children getting, allow the children to be part of main stream society???

  • These outbursts of violence by the Uighers and the Tibetans are the result of tensions caused by these people feeling :

    1) Their culture is being eroded by the influx of Han settlers,

    2) Resentment that they are being economically and culturally marginalized in their own ancestral land,

    3) Treated as second-class citizens and discriminated against by the majority Han Chinese.

  • Freedom for Tibet-China's Shame;along with slavery,totalitarianism,intolerance and ultra-nationalism.

  • Tibet can not win the independence by just protesting alone - Tibet need arms and military. Look at Vietnam - China occupied and administrated Vietnam for amost thoudsand years, however, Vietnamese people finally defeated China in the year 1200 and regained the independence. Most recently, in 1978, China sent 100,000 troops to invade Vietname again, but also got defeated and withdrew.

  • It is 2009. NO violence is needed to Free Tibet.

    Free Tibet

  • i was i Hong kong in 1978 the reason China got So called defeated becouse US hep it a long it was a gut for opium and lust for oil. You dont bite the hand that you, do you Robl

  • When individuals around the World start thinking about what they are doing pressure can be exerted on the communist party.

    1. A boycott of travel to China is the first simple thing to do.

    2. Some communist goods will not sell well either. Crash tests of a popular car made in China were appalling.

    3. A major NZ company Fonterra lost well over $100 M by investing in China after they were told not to. Why take the risk of investing in a country controlled by the Chinese Communist Party ???

  • are those kids sent to india only to get education, the kids upbringing, who will take care of that, , a kid needs to be near its parent,

  • These kids should be with their parents. However, their parents loved them so much, they said goodbye to them forever so that they could learn how to speak Tibetan, learn their culture, and meet HHDL.

  • there was a tv show here about tibet kids in india, last night, small world. they can learn to speak tibetan in tibet im shure , but you meant the schools are not allowed to teach it, I guess, i saw the culture shool in india, did not look like anything important, just making tibet looking things, i forgot , paintings or something something, d lama is a nice guy but no need to meet him, tibet has many nice guys too.

  • Is this smuggling children ? How did they travel in Himalaya for 1 week without grow-up ? Sad for the kids.

  • These kids come to India to learn about their culture without the filter of Chinese bosses telling them what to learn. Their families give them up forever so they can come and learn about their culture and history, and live a better life. It's the same reason refugees around the world leave their homes - to find a better life. It is sad for the kids and the families - I hope one day they can be reunited with their loved ones in a free democratic way. Thanks for posting.

  • you nuts nobody force them .chinese borderguards shot one teenager. she is just 16 ,dead sad for the tibtan who under red china..sad for chinese who used to be fooled by their ret boss

  • FREE TIBET

    SUPPORT DALAI LAMA

  • Human rights conditions in Tibet remain dismal. Under the Chinese occupation,

the Tibetan people are denied most rights guaranteed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights including the rights to self-determination, freedom of speech, assembly, movement, expression and travel. Signs of support for His Holiness the Dalai Lama are banned by the Chinese government.

  • If anyone wonders why Tibet needs to be free they just need to watch the excellent video "Dispatches Undercover in Tibet" which you can see here

    viddler. com/ explore/starmeteor/videos/5

    (take out the spaces)

Dispatches Undercover in Tibet is the best video about modern Tibet and covers many human rights issues in Tibet. But there are many other excellent human rights videos about Tibet like

Tibetan Refugee Part Two (and parts Three to Five)

that will show you how bad things are in Tibet.

  • nyima means sun in Tibetan.

  • fuck china!

    FREE TIBET

  • On behalf of all Chinese people, I want to offer the Tibetan people our sincere apologies for the cruelties inflicted upon them by the Chinese government. Tibet has never been and never will be a part of China. I hope one day Tibetans will receive the freedom that they need and deserve. I am ashamed of what the communist government and the CCP has done in Tibet. I hope that one day Tibet will again be free and regain its independence and sovereignty. I am sorry for the evils you have suffered.

  • "I am sorry for the evils you have suffered." We are still suffering.. And what you said was all hearts but how will that help tibet? tell me.. please, HOW WILL THAT HELP TIBET!

  • you really a chinese with soul .

  • Tibet for Tibetans !!!!!!!!

  • so racism.

  • you know that it's a nationalist slogan?

  • 《《《FREE TIBET》》》

  • Free Tibet

from all the LOOTING, TORTURING, KILLIING and all sorts of other nasty stuff that the Colonial chinese communist party has been doing since they INVADED independent Tibet 60 years ago. MANY hundreds of thousands of Tibetans have been killed.

Free Tibet from the OPPRESSION of the Government of China.

  • o mani padme hung

  • China is hell on Earth, giant concentracion camp, land of tiranny, genocide, torture, total absence of freedom, maximum oppression, pure dictatorship. Chinese communists are no human beeing. Brainwashed robots supporting terrorism and waitting to invade and submit the free world!

  • You have so many negative things in you small head. It's not good for you health. I will suggest you to practice more Buddhism in your everyday life.

BTW, I wish somebody can answer a question like that: Whom are brainwashed more between Chinese under the rule of CCP and Tibetans under the Dalai Lama? Are there some scientific ways to do this research?

  • free tibet long live H.H The 14th Dalai Lama

  • I like this video, but parts two to five are even better if you want to see excellent human rights videos.

  • I think most Zang ethnic minorities (Tibetans) activists, living outside of their motherland, China and a small number inside China, including a small minority of Western sympathisers have realized that they have lost a lot of respect in the International Communities today. The disruptions of the Olympic Torch, The Beijing Games, The riots in Lhasa, Xizang (Tibet) province of China in March 2008, and many other disruptive demonstrations had been condemn by people worldwide. Peace to the world.

  • I think most Chinese people look in the face of Tibetans and realize they are not related, have never been related, will never be related. I think Tibetans feel sorry for the Chinese govt who felt the need to invade and claim their country, and feel that one day the Chinese people who will liberate themselves, their hearts and minds and leave Tibet once they've taken all the natural resources. Or perhaps when the banks collapse in Beijing and Shanghai; one can only hope. Peace to your world.

  • China has a long history of un-righteous and un-harmonious rule over people who have struggled to be free. China's people are too insecure to accept criticism or to be self critical in the way the people of most western countries can. When Americans hear others criticize America's wicked leaders, they often understand and agree. When Chinese hear others criticize their wicked leaders, they express rage and hostility to the speaker.

  • Tibetans are subject to arbitrary arrest and detention

Torture still prevails in Chinese prisons and detention centres

Enforced disappearances, where a person is taken into custody and the details of their detention are not disclosed, continue to occur.

The 11-year-old 11th Panchen Lama has been missing since his status was announced in 1995.

Today, it appears the Chinese are using Tibet as a dumping ground for their, and foreign, nuclear waste.

Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was recognised at age six by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as one of Tibet's most important religious leaders. Determined to control religion in Tibet, the Chinese authorities kidnapped the young boy and his family on May 17, 1995 just days after he was recognised as the 11th Panchen Lama.

  • tibetan people.. why dont you try to re-group your people.. there are people called balti in pakistan .. ladakhis in kashmir .. monpas in arunachal ... the worst part is your people are divided by artificial walls and they are already going through cultural genocide.. u need to do something to get back the entire tibetan group into a single nation!!

  • The comment about being subhuman, and 'doggie'....what a joke. It's true what they say about jealousy, so thank you williamdesojealous for proving this true. These people are beautiful! You can see their kindness, it radiates through their eyes and being. Kids, the word for today and into the future is: Compassion. Namaste'....

  • It's a shame that when things go well, people join in for hundreds of years. When things don't ,(live is full of ups and downs as we all know), some will split and betray others. Should this be allowed? morally not.

  • Yes, life is full of ups and downs, especially when you're hanging from a wire in Drapchi prison. The concept of "allowing" protest or disallowing it, is foreign to all people who live in a democracy. Betrayal is subjective, especially if you are constantly betrayed by those claiming to be your brother. But one day Tibet will become Tibet again, it's just a matter of time.

  • China are made up of 56 ethnic groups join China at various times hundred years ago.

  • There is no Chinese invasion, there are only operations required for social stability.

  • Right. And those hundreds of thousands of Tibetans killed or starved to death (from the non Chinese invasion in 1906 and then another non invasion in 1949, and another non invasion in 1959) didn't really exist. For social stability? And were the German concentration camps were put up to ensure social stability? Did the cultural revolution succeed in social stability? How many people have to die or be tortured in order to achieve social stability? A free China equals a free Tibet.

  • Stop the terrorist act, then you don't have to be refugees.

  • Ever since China invaded Tibet in 1949 the Tibetans have been refugees. In their own country, and now outside of it. It's surprising they don't resist the Chinese invasion on more levels, but it's part of their character to be compassionate - even for those who've invaded their land, taken their resources. One day the shoe will be on the other foot. We might not see it, but one day it will.

  • How come all these tibetans looks so fuck and silly? Are they subhuman? Doggie of the west and India?

  • You mean "f**in' silly?" Nice to see your attempt to master another language, and your enlightened comments. Take a long look in the mirror my friend, try to imagine yourself in the position of an abused Tibetan. Your hands tied, hanging from a chain, teeth bleeding from kicks and abuse. Vomit, blood, shit running down your legs. Who is the subhuman? The one using the cattle prod? Or the one praying for the end to your suffering from delusion? thanks for the opportunity to practice compassion.

  • Most of the refugees are children because their parents send them over to get an education. For that they risk losing their children in the mountains.. Every parent would know what a such a decision can entail. There must be something wrong on the other side of the Himalayas.

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Today she speaks Tibetan as well as English but prefers to read Chinese newspapers. She says she cant imagine how she was totally unaware of the Tibetan issue. I keep telling her its not her fault.I however do not dissuade her from befiending Chinese people in Belgium where she lives today .

  • I had several cousins who took the same route as these children. Two have gone back. One went after a pretty good education. There are anything between 2 to 4000 children coming everyyear to India and Nepal. I am especially glad that my first cousin made it here She was already early 20,s spoke no Tibetan, knew nothing about Tibetan history and culture and had spent most of her life in border town of Darsedo in Sichuan working in a Hotel.

    LONG LIVE TIBET FREEDOM

  • SOLIDARIETA' AL TIBET!!!!

  • At 1:07, those guys are obviously Indians. Not "Tibetan refugees" at all. What a crock! Most of the refugees are Indian-born. DL and his supporters have been in India for 50 years. Note that most of the "refugees" are children and below 25 years old? Why are there no older people? Strange, no?

  • Wow. What a stupid comment. I can't believe how childish you are. I only hope your family isn't thrown in prison, and you aren't forced to walk across the Himalayas to find freedom. On second thought, no, I do wish that for you. It's a free country, and I have the freedom to delete your annoying comment. Thanks.

  • Hu Jintao just arrived Tokyo this afternoon. And, there were the protest demonstration march in Tokyo with over 4,200 people!! We Japanese have a freedom of expression which the Communist country doesn't!! We never want our a freedom of expression is restricted and manipulated and never will be!!! Free Tibet!!

  • right on Jiro. free tibet, and free china too.

  • This is a great video!! Kids are so cute. We need to save Tibetan. Free Tibet from Tokyo!!

  • My friends who run JewelHeart org have announced that they will be streaming live the conference with His Holiness, when he speaks this week in Michigan. For those of you who have not had a chance to hear HHDL speak, it's a good opportunity to hear what he has to say. All the details are on the Jewel Heart org website.

  • YouTube - Seven Lies about Tibet and His Holiness:

Dalai Lama does leave a trace of history. He befriends people like Shoko Asahara, Heinrich Harrer and Dr. Bruno Beger and so on. It's hard not to call some of these people evils.

YouTube - Dalai Lama and Dorje Shugden:

See what Dalai Lama did to his own people who practice Dorje Shugden which he upheld initially and banned later. I don't think Dalai Lama believes in free speech himself. So by the same spirit, free Dalai Lama.

  • Now you are on the right track. Free Tibet. Free China. Free the Dalai Lama. He spends a great amount of time and effort to free you as well, my friend, praying for your liberation. And by doing so he finds his own liberation. Try to have more compassion in your life. Combined with wisdom of reality, you can come closer to what he's learned; we're all one people, all from the same source of energy and light - all your thoughts, good or bad affect your life. so try to have a warm heart. Peace.

  • Cut it. I don't like your trick of muddy the water. Don't you see evils in your own post. Buddhism is about emptiness and releasing one from attachments. And you want people to attach to Dalai Lama? Or maybe you think his friend Shoko Asahara also offers good teaching? Good for you. So continue on, praise him and his friend. Dream on, the Buddhracracy will give you the intelligence and spiritual peace. You will soon be liberated... in good smell of C4H10FO2P in no time.

  • My friend, your posts are devolving into a whiny diatribe about your hate towards the Dalai Lama, Tibet, and all things Tibetan. China claims Tibet has always been part of China. So why do they hate the Tibetans so much? Or their culture? or their religion? Or the Dalai Lama? I grow tired of responding to your endless nonsense. Time for you to find somewhere else to shout your views. Free China. Free Tibet. And Free fchen8. We love you, but are closing the door on you. Thanks for posting.

  • Two great articles in NY Times com today about Tibet. One about the historical relationship as viewed by scholars in the West. It shows the campaign China wages to distort that view. The other about the Duke Chinese student who dared to try and get the protesters to speak together; for this she and her family in China have death threats. Another reason why China needs to be Free, which will then adopt a Freer Tibet. Long live free speech. only 4% of china is communist; time to elect a new govt.

  • Why do you close comment on this if you promote free speech?

  • Disregard this one. I kept on losing my comments in the last half hour or so. It finally appeared above.

  • Youtube lost one of my last comments. Well, I am not gonna type it again. My understanding of Buddhism is shallow at best. Just my 2 cents. Lastly I wish Dalai Lama, as the hope (or rather gate) for Tibetans for their next life, would put his fellow Tibetans before everything else. Only then there is a hope for constructive talk. Let us see.

  • Finally, something we can agree on. The day I spent filming him at his home for this documentary, I got to see the Dalai Lama with westerners, monks and refugees. He was polite to the first group, a teacher to the second, and a father to the third - some of that is in the documentary. Honestly, I've heard his lectures, seen him speak many times. As he says, he's a simple monk, who cares deeply about his people. Great sense of humor as well, I always feel better about the planet after seeing him.

  • If it had not with the theocracy, these lamas wouldn't have had the resources to practice some of those twisted Tantras. Of course they were not that happy when they were thrown out of power. Nowadays they either claim those are not practiced anymore or those things are symbolic. I would said you will find a peace of mind in Mahayana teaching. If you really like Vajrayana, try Japanese Vajrayana. There was one in China. But it was mostly lost since Tang dynasty.

  • I am not sure why you said I have prejudice against Tibet or Tibetans. I don't. Tibetan Buddhism is a form of Vajrayana Buddhism which has closed relationship to Mahayana Buddhism, while Tibetan Buddhism being the most radical among various forms of Vajrayana Buddhism. Most Tibetans can only receive the portion of teaching that is almost equivalent to Mahayana Buddhism. Only higher level Lamas may receive faster path to enlightenment (some Tantra involved are very controversial at best).

  • Let's not waisting more time with this so called "documentary producer". Every time he couldn't argue a point, he would just muddy the water with baseless claim. I asked some details about the interviews in Tibet. He then said he didn't shoot the portion himself. Mixing some superficial fact (like he has been in Tibet) with serious lies (the claims of what he heard and saw), that is his trick.

  • Yes! Please! stop wasting my time! Thank you. I wrote that the translator you hear in the film (who is speaking Tibetan) is not me. I asked the questions in English. My friend translated those into Tibetan. You can hear my voice speaking in English asking follow up questions. I edited out may of those out. I will be posting my documentary "Journey into Tibet" with R. Thurman where we go to Lhasa, Gyantse, Kailash etc, when i can. Meanwhile, yes! Please! Stop wasting time! Free China. Free Tibet.

  • "I wrote that the translator you hear in the film (who is speaking Tibetan) is not me. I asked the questions in English. " Did you not tell me the portion in Tibet was not carried out by you either?

    R. Thurman, now you show your tail. Everyone knows that he is a student of Dalai. I have no intension to discuss whether he is right or wrong. I just want to point out that you are NOT neutral as you claimed . That's your ethic problem as a "documentary producer". Shame on you.

  • No my friend, didn't have the luxury of a translator in Tibet. It's only in English. Never said I wasn't a fan of the Dalai Lama. Met him several times. He's an incredibly nice person. I hope that in your lifetime you get to meet him too. He prays for your liberation as well as mine. No such thing as a neutral film. However, I only asked 3 questions; why leave tibet? what was the journey like? What did you hope to find? You can judge the results for yourself. I wish you were a happier person.

  • Fair. No such thing as a neutral film. I don't blame you. It's your right of free speech. Just don't claim the thing you are showing is the truth when it's at best a mix of fact and lies.

Even he would be within 100 miles this weekend, I have no intension to be there. I am pretty close to Buddhism. But Tibetan Buddhism? It's such a twisted theocracy that one would be out of mind to find spiritual and intelligent teaching there. There are better choices out there my friend. Peace.

  • The truth is; with the amount of prejudice you have against Tibet and the Tibetans, it's a surprise you'd want to claim them as your brothers. If you knew anything about Tibetan Buddhism, you'd know how close it is to Mahayana and Theravaden Buddhism. Same tree. Buddha tried to open one's eyes to reality, and how it gets distorted thru attachment. You are attached to a preconceived view of Tibet, colored by your own history. Mine is different. Go to Tibet someday for yourself. See if I'm wrong.

  • martinifilm,

Who is this "people outside of China"? Who are they? Don't be so vague. Everyone not a Chinese agree this number? Are you kidding me? Don't be so hurry putting your words in other people's mouth. And who are the Chinese officials talked about 800k? Why there is still the number of 400k, if Chinese official agreed it's 800k? Are they trying to make the number bigger to look better? You are quite creative on making up stuff, I have to say
