I remember the huge carnavals in the Lyons district. The Octopus ride was always near Tastee freeze. We would ride our bikes up there for sundays and such.
YESSS! So fantastic. They are part of my favorite Eagle Point Park memories, balancing out the terrible memory of getting stuck in the middle of that kids tunnel; remember? It had four sections that met in the middle and I once had the most claustrophic moment ever when kids were coming from all sides and I was stuck there. We had to back out one of the tunnels. What a nightmare!
You should go back for a visit. It's true that "you can't go home again" because everything changes so much and you'll miss a lot of what you remembered growing up . . . but it's well worth it. I don't think I'll go back again, but I'm so happy that I returned as an adult.
That tastee freez was open a few years ago and some nights there were huge lines there...last I knew it was for sale... have not been by lately though...
You're 100% right, Bryan!!! This did used to be a Tastee-Freeze drive-in. It wasn't a Dairy Queen or a Dog 'n' Suds or an A&W (that was in a little no-longer-standing concrete building by the municipal swimming pool called the Chatterbox).
I like the music you are playing in the background

@RoninAvenger Thanks for watching! (I honestly think the music was from my car radio; glad you liked it!)

Tastee-Freeze was wonderful on those humid summer days on the way to Eagle Point Park.

I remember that tunnel very well. It wasn't a favorite of mine. I miss Eagle Point Park. It's been eons since I've been to Clinton.
