Before my PS3 save file got corrupted, I had a great Desert Penetrator. No elemental damage, but had a 2.X-some zoom and one of the nice round scopes. In a way, it made parts of the game too easy (ex: it killed the boss of Dr. Ned DLC, PT2, in about 3 seconds). After an 8 month "cooling off" period, decided to try the game again (backing up to USB regularly this time). I'm hoping for the Atlas Cyclops this time around as my epic (but still challenging) sniper.

Ah...the famous Liquid Penetrator. This was, before a patch, one of the few "pearlescennt" weapons. They were the only guns with red text that had a white title. Some are average, but this one is always a great find.

i ahev 2 of these its not modded read the special writing in red look it up its not 3 round burst its full auto and uhm he has a hunter mod on that gives sniper ammo regeneration p.s. mines 876 damage about the same specs yes they are overpowerfull IF YOU HIT ALL THE BULLETS it has a low accurcy (for a sniper) and its best to shoot in bursts because the nossle clime is so big if you leave the trigger down okayz?

and i dunno maybe i'm wrong and one of us has a glitched one.

also look at 0:17 he shoots it non-scoped, but another reason to burst is shown, it has a crapload of recoil.

A pity yours came with the lousy oval scope. I was really lucky and got a Desert Penetrator from a vending machine in Jakobs Cove (Zombie Island DLC). It has a 2.4x zoom round scope. It also has a 10 round magazine, but only 380 damage (but I'm still on my first PT so no too shabby).
