I purchased leds on ebay. I had the contractor build a wall 3 inches from the glass block on the inside. I was white laminate. I attached the leds on the grout-lines on the other side of the glass block facing towards the wall. Hence the smooth reflection. look on ebay for dreamwave led
Very nice presentation and show of workmanship. This is not a new idea, I have photos on my web site form almost 8 years ago with glass block for bars but multi colored and controlled with remote is very cool. If you need a more professional design for an unfinished basement, I'd love to design them. the glass blocks are the same height as the bar that the countertop rests on equally.

I used roughly 6 feet of 5050 RGB with my own computer program. It has a remote that lets it do 100 different patterns and had full speed control.
