This is the Art college gig at the transport hall in 1978....The Valves, The Monos and the Skids...as per the comment below from WP..I thought there was only one copy of this tape! the gig as far as I remember was on Richard Jobson's birthday!...nice close up of some of my old mates towards the end!
Here is the history to this video. The gig was run by the Edinburgh College of Art and was in the Transport Hall in Annandale Street. We were putting together a training video on how to put on a gig. The final video included interviews with the Art College Entertainments. It was shot on an old open reel, black and white Panasonic Recorder I blagged from the School of Community Studies, hence the crap quality. There were 3 bands that night: The Valves, The Monos (or they could have been the solos
99% I was there and three bands played on the night...Skids, Valves and Rezillos...hope to get that confirmed this weekend when the Skids play at the Alhambra...
RIGHT ON! In '78 I was in a record store where a worker started blaring "Of One's Skin" on the stereo and it was the first awesome jolt of punk for this grade 8'er. Too bad the whole song's not here but cool nonetheless this video exists.
ashamed to say i forgot about this song,so i had a look in my box of old punk records, and yes,its there,in white vynil, with a picture of a stags ass on the cover!!!
Saw The Skids about 7 or 8 times around this period they were usuallly the support to the "bigger" bands who played in Edinburgh ie Stranglers etc I probably was at this and it's either Clouds Discotheque the other venue that was about this size in Edinburgh was Tiffany's in St Stephens St but i'd plump for Clouds at Tollcross

Great to hear from you. What are your memories of the gig ?
germo66 4 years ago
a few years ago but i remember they played Working for the yankee dollar and the old black and white war film played in the background

That would have been on the Days in Europa tour late 1979. This footage is much earlier. Who filmed it and how was it so badly damaged?
