  • Exactly why should anyone care what Paul wrote or thought or said? He was just a man, not especially bright or insightful or even educated. Even children nowadays know more about the world than he ever did. Whatever he thought about the world in the 1st century is properly called ignorant superstition in the 21st. What qualifications did he have to speak for God or about God? None that I can see. He was guy with opinions--just like everybody else. So why do people think Paul matters?

  • This man is an egotistical false teacher. Stay away from him and his teaching. Why does the bible contain not one single positive reference to homosexuality? If it is part of God's creation one would think there would be a blessing of this somewhere. In every instance it is condemned.

  • "This man is an egotistical false teacher. Stay away from him and his teaching."

Others all too likely said things along these lines about Martin Luther and the apostle Paul.

"Why does the bible contain not one single positive reference to homosexuality?"

The lack of favorable comment does not neccessarily mean our Lord is against it under all circumstances.

"In every instance it is condemned."

Not "every" instance since the Bible does not speak to all same gender relations such as marriage.

  • @SouthernSexxy This man is a seminary professor, and studies these things for a living as well as for growth of his relationship with God. I think you should watch all the videos beginning with gracklegallery. Challenging ourselves is how we grow physically, intellectually and spiritually. I ask only that you listen and think for yourself rather than taking what you have heard to be fact. If you maintain your beliefs so-be-it. I'll pray for you regardless, and I hope you'd do the same for me.

  • Thanks VERY much for posting these videos!

  • Talk about twisting scripture to make it say the opposite of what it is actually saying. It means what it says, even when it is not politically correct. Wrong is wrong and homosexuality is clearly wrong all through the Bible. Stop trying to justify it, when the Bible condemns it as sin!!!! God can forgive a homosexual if he repents, turns from it, but only if he turns from it. Stop twisting scripture!!!

  • Talk about you not knowing how to correctly interpret the Bible. The false doctrine has been taught for so long and it needs to stop, the condemnation of LGBTQ people has gone on for far too long. It doesn't condemn monogamous same sex relationships and Jesus (god incarnate) never said one single thing about homosexuality.

  • @RichardFriend48 You haven't listened to anything the man's been saying. The bible condemns several things as sinful that we no longer regard as sinful (= touching women who have their period). And excuse me, but as long as you haven't read the scripture in the original version (i.e. in Hebrew and in Ancient Greek), you can't even take the 'real' scripture literally, as you are obviously so keen on doing. See e.g. the translation mistake 'virgin Mary'.

  • Does Dr. Holbert believe that the entire Bible is true? Just wondering.

  • I think that you would have to define what true means...does it mean that you think that all of the things in the Bible were okay and that they actually happened? If that is truth then most Christians (besides Fundamentalists) don't think that the Bible is true.

  • Yes, he does. He has degrees in Biblical studies so of course he knows how to interpret the Bible correctly. This is the truth from the true and living God.

  • Are you saying that since there are gay animals, it is acceptable to be gay? We live in a sinful world. Why would you think it wouldn't affect animals? I believe GOOD people do struggle with having desires for people of the same sex. Sin is horrible, and can really destroy a person. We are all sinful, but that is no excuse for just accepting it and assuming God does also.

  • I hope that you will view the earlier clips in this series as well. I posted it in part because Dr. Holbert has helped me to consider people with whom I disagree with the loving kindness that is commended throughout the Bible. I agree that we are all sinful. I think Dr. Holbert was arguing against the idea that homosexual behavior is unnatural. I think that for some people heterosexual behavior would be unnatural while a faithful same sex relationship is a gift from God.

  • @04ams Little grasshopper, you have much to learn. He's basically saying that Jesus' grace is what saves. It doesn't matter if you feel you were good avoiding sin and that you're heterosexual. He's stating that with all of that you need Jesus' grace and so do homosexuals. Because being straight will not cut, nor will being gay. But you (and I can tell) feel that Jesus accepts heterosexuality better than homosexuality. Funny, can you tell me where Jesus said that? So some animals are gay!

  • thank you so much
