@giallohorror "Nobody liked this group of drug addicts, wannabe thugs, idiots, and racist (emmit smith)" You also say they shouldn't be considered "americas team", but it seems to me you actually described america unintentionally. Lol.
Minnesota probably still kicks themselves for that trade. I hate Jimmie Johnson, but what he did with those draft picks, and they way he turned that team around is to be commended.
Can't imagine how many yards Herschel Walker could've had behind that line, even in the twilight of his career. Emmitt is a racist moron. Not even in the top 10 of greatest running backs ever. I don't care how many yards he has
@GialloHorror: I agree. Minnesota's biggest weakness was at QB, not RB. Now, don't get me wrong, they could have used a new RB as well, but they had a fading Tommy Kramer and an average Wade Wilson. Could have used an upgrade. They should have held on to all those picks. They could have gotten George in 90 if they made a trade, or Favre in 91.
@sptrfn Indeed. I don't see how giving up an entire draft for a RB is a good idea. It didn't work for The Saints when they traded all of their picks to Washington for Ricky Williams.
Of course, Daniel Snyder is an idiot so he did nothing with those draft picks.
As much as Ihate Jimmie Johnson, the guy is a brilliant football mind, and knows talent when he sees it.
Had Dallas not had this run from 1992-1995, they wouldn't even be relevant today
@GialloHorror: The worst day in Dallas history turned out to be when Jerry Jones bought that team. If it wasn't for stupid Viking GM Mike Lynn, they probably don't ever win anything, and maybe JJ goes back to the U after a few years.
What bothers me about their 92-95 run, though, is that people say that was the best team ever. No way. The 70's Steelers were much better. The 97-98 Broncos were as well. Dallas got lucky because they blayed Buffaluck, and because of O'Donnell.
@sptrfn They were not even close to the best team. The Niners were better than them but never played well against The Cowboys. 70's Steelers, and 80's Niners were much better Dynasties.
@GialloHorror: In 92 and 93, I don't think that the Niners were better than Dallas. Their defense was mediocre at best in those seasons. I think that their 92 team should have lost more games than they did, and in 93, they won a weak division with only 10 wins.
I love how people still call The Cowboys "America's Team". HAHA! They're not even close. The Cowboys of the 1970's seemed likeable. Landry,Staubach, Lilly, Pearson, Waters, Harris, Dorsett etc etc etc.
NOBODY liked this group of drug addict, wanna be thug, dumb, idiots, except for those in Dallas.
This group of Cowboys are why I hate them to this day.
Sorry Cowboy fans, but Emmitt wasn't that good. I could've got 10,000 yards behind that line. Irvin, very OVERRATED
@GialloHorror: I agree about Emmitt. I would have loved to see Barry Sanders behind that line. He would have rushed for 3,000 yards. Terrell Davis probably could have as well, although Denver's line was real good in it's own right. Their 97 Super Bowl team had four players who were Pro Bowlers on their O-line (Zimmerman, Schlereth, Nalen, and Tony Jones).
@GialloHorror Emmitt wasn't that good? You could've rushed for 10,000 yards behind that line? Check out 18:56, you would've gotten your block knocked off!
