  • My reaction in the middle:

"Hey, he's taking out an electric guitar, that's pretty aweso - OH MY GAWD, HIS EYES."

  • so much better with Goettell.

  • Specifically the "I was a cinder body and soul my dream" (although it says dreams in the song), and I think the "grain like curtain" was in the same book as well/.

  • I was reading a book once, and some of the lyrics from this song were taken from the book. It was either "Melmoth the wanderer" or "The Monk", I think it was The Monk as it was about the spanish inquisition. But I can't remember for sure. As many times as Ive been watching a movie and heard skinny puppy samples in it... it was weird finding the same thing in text from a book. Both great books BTW.

  • WHOS MANSON? WHOS NIN? LOL

  • Now that's what i call poetry. So many of my generation think of lyrics and poetry of being "oh poor me, my girlfriend dumped me, life sucks, I'm going to wear my sister's pants". I just don't get it.

  • precioso!

  • My boyfriend and I chose this as "our song" several years ago. It's amazing. The remix is great too.

  • true innovators of industrial music

  • WTF are they doing?!?

  • wish i wuz there.

  • skinny puppy is what i need to hear.

  • i LOVE skinny puppy.. FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • me encanta skinny puppy en su primera generacion es tetrico gore los inicios del electro dark

  • gotta be half cut to start...

  • ..SP sez: "the time for revolution / avoid addictive plea / who's talking dissolution / we trust in truth will be"..

    ..or another interp?..

  • @cScruffy breakdown amidst the mixtures

avoid addictive plea responding disillusion encrusted cruelty

  • @cScruffy

The lyrics are in the description box.

  • @mmfan15 Where the hell did you get this. MUST HAVE SP LIVE SHIT NOW!!!!!

  • @parsleysprigs

I dont know if he ever answered or not, but this is from "Aint it dead yet?" video. I have it on my comp, I actually still have the old VHS tape of it. I can maybe get it to you somehow, but its a big file, so im not sure how. if you want it message me.

  • Greatest stage show ever...

  • skinny puppy is the shit

  • the lyrics are like a string of words combined to form a message.

    so sick.

  • @danielrollingpanda lol i know like a robot malfuntioning

  • R.I.P. Dwayne Goettel !!! Great video. Awsome Souds !!!

  • when that drum starts in, it's on! plain and simple. this song is just so good ... dark dreary and pumping .. i love it! the synths! yummy as fhuc!

  • @VNVgirl yeah gotta love the live drumming where it appears in this performance

  • I can see how these guys might have influenced the darker side of My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, but I still prefer MLWTKK. MLWTKK has a great sense of playfulness, whereas this is all intensely manic depressive music, much of which is unintelligible.

  • OGREEEEEE!

  • @steinber

    wow

  • For me industrial music is Throbbing Gristle (whose Industrial Records label was the first apparent use of the word in that context) early SPK, some Nurse With Wound, Whitehouse, Test Dept., old -school I guess. Skinny Puppy have industrial influences and they fucking rock. I've seen them seven times including this show. Brilliant.

  • @steinber

unfortunately, the actual and broad definition of Industrial isn't exactly yours

Throbbing Gristle was all part of Industrial trying to define itself as a genre

  • @MolotovDaSkwerl I don't actually care. I just listen to what I think works.

  • @steinber

    good for you

  • @steinber

    and let's not forget NON

  • @ixceix Totally! I'd like Rice more if he wasn't a Nazi.

  • @steinber he's come out quit a few times distancing himself from comments he made early on in his career. there was an interview a while back featuring both him and marc almond (soft cell) talking about this.

  • @ixceix oh, really? Boyd "Total War" Rice? Well, my goodness...

  • @steinber the great thing is that no one really cares about idiosyncratic subjectivist definitions like this one. To nearly everyone else skinny puppy is industrial music.

  • @DivisionbyZer0 Fair enough. Ultimately it is what it is.

  • @DivisionbyZer0 so are you saying because the music is depressing and made by depressed people ,it is inferior? Well, at least they are putting their pain into a beautiful art form and not blowing their own brains out or hurting others. get over it.

  • @patrickblake What? They are my favorite band. Where are you getting that I said these things from?

  • OMG!

  • classic...

  • Was always for me.

  • this is what i think of when people ask me what is industrial music.

  • I realized just know, SP is what INXs would have sounded like if they went industrial.

  • 1:44

did he just fix on stage?lol

  • Thank god these guys aren't trout swimming in the mainstream.

  • @MrFreakaccident they have had a considerable influence on the mainstream though in these past 20 years

  • thank god for great indutrial rock metal--trent worked with and listened to Skinny Puppy too you know!

  • @jonathansmith84 lol yeah, he opened for them on one tour I think

  • KEVIN KEY !!!!!!

  • cEvin Key - the 1 man band acompanied by the classically trained prodigy/ electronic genius Dewayne Goettel and the highly theatrical Nivek Ogre!

  • @spheresaxis lol yeah he switches between drums, guitar and synth almost at a second in this vid, hes awesome

  • just stop tagging bands!

  • ezen nőttem fel...lyuk 90-es évek...

    better than all other!

  • That's some beautiful dinner music! Classic Puppy...

  • How does he remember lyrics like that?.. so abstract.. and with all the chaos going on around him... Amazing... underrated...

  • the video is killin' me but audio is gr8

  • That is one monster rig.

  • I will vid will always remind me that we did it harder and pissed on the norm more than any other generation could dream of

  • @YourCynth You're right. We did.

  • Wow. That's a big rig.

I first heard this song on 12 Inch Anthology. This version's my favorite but both are killer.

  • good song, coming from one heroin addict to another!

  • Aint It Dead Yet changed my life. Thank yu Skinny Puppy.

  • Stop talking about TR in Skinny Puppy Videos for fuck sake.

  • lmfao

  • @shadowkunt lol inorite, happens in like every fuckin comment thread too

  • I"m seeing them on Thursday and can't wait!

  • I just saw them on thursday. I nearly lost my shit when I heard the drum intro to this song, the one at 0:35 in the video.

  • I know, easily the best intro ever, and this vid is easily the best puppy footage.

  • Absolutely never forgot this intro from the first time i heard it, aint it dead yet is a sick performance from simply THE BEST band ever.

  • Hey!! the stuff he does on stage is that real, stabbing himself in the neck its fucking crazy, this is my first time hearing this, its good music the stuff i like, i saw the lead singer in a Interview, he seems totally diff then on stage, seems like a very smart guy...

  • haha what do u think!

  • i wish theyd tour the UK =/

  • fuuuuuuckk.....some trippy shit

  • dope footage...

  • Absolutely mesmerizing.

  • When industrial wasn't for everyone ..lol.. Classic!

  • @donutsmoker goddamn right.

  • @donutsmoker hahaha!!! That was a great quote man! CHEERS

  • @donutsmoker I agree, but SP was in a class all of it's own.. the word "industrial" cuts it short.

  • @hardwired13 ..agreed.

  • @hardwired13 i agree!!!

  • @donutsmoker lol what the hell do you mean? aside from Manson and Nails, Industrial still isnt for everyone!

  • @donutsmoker it still isnt i fuckin love it!

  • @donutsmoker ..nah..proving Industrial is for everyone..at it's genesis..

  • Can't wait...seeing them Friday in Toronto!

  • @449918 I saw them on Tuesday, and they were awesome.

  • Yeah it was sick. They played a lot of old favourites. Good to see Ohgr still has it.

  • Me too. Me and my girl started the pit.

  • So freaking great!!!

Nice vibes from the good old days :)

  • yea they are coming to cleveland this month...hopefully not too broke to go

  • got tickets to go my self for 7 bucks to the cleveland show! so look around for em

  • I want to cut my hair like Ogre but not many places would hire me. Fuck society! Ogre is the shit!!!

  • I thing some moments remains me main theme soundtrack from Commando movie with Arnie, music from James Horner, maybe Im failed, maybe not. Then in oct1988 adjectived album VIVIsect VI is combination of noise, thefted movie samples, crushed rythms and melodies. This is the similar form of melodie and rythm.

  • a good old aint it dead yet

  • uhh, I think cevin was just making a drumming face...

  • cevin key is trying not to laugh at 3:00 ish while ogre is being so serious, it's funny!

  • OMG, this song brings back so many great memories. Grew up in the 80's, really into the club scene in the latter half of the 80's. The best way to listen to this song, or any of SP's music is in a club with super massive size speakers ( the kind where at least 10 people can stand inside) that have unbelievable bass. Wow! Good times!

  • those were the daays.....lol

  • Yeah but that club was'nt all that great (but alot better than the one that followed in that location) But on the right night and state of mind I could relate to what you're saying.

  • this song is one of my fav, there is something vary sick about this song

  • Simply amazing. SP are legendary live

  • Whatz the video called and where do I find it? I had the privilege of seeing Skinny Puppy in NYC a few yearz ago. Amazing, just like I thought it would be.

  • Yep, Ogre's been in a movie. It's called Repo! The Genetic Opera. (It's a rock opera, of course, with no spoken word.) It's directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III, & IV) and stars Anthony Stewart Head, Alexa Vega, Sarah Brightman, Paul Sorvino, Ogre, Bill Moseley, (don't be frightened off by this) Paris Hilton, and Terrance Zdunich. You should look it up on IMDb. Also, look up "Repo! The Genetic Opera - Mark It Up" here on YouTube and click the one that says (Music Video.)

  • Tell me what you think of it, by the way.

Oh! And Ogre's going to be in another movie next year. It's a sequel to the Robert Englund movie 2001 Maniacs. I don't know about Ogre's character except his name is Harper Alexander... which is awesome.

  • @kssykssygg But ogre's presence was a big disappointment. I was really looking forward to Skinny Puppy moments or his well-known voice distortion. All we got was the fucking mask and a goofy French accent. Talk about missed opportunity! Repo was a fun movie, but I do get kind of sad when I think about how it would have been so much better if they had just 1 or 2 numbers to showcase Ogre doing the Ogre thing. They let Paris do the Hilton thing?! Ogre's a lot more interesting than Paris, come on!

  • Skinny Puppy + NO2 = Awesome

  • yes nitrous oxide skinny puppy crazy yes

  • I have this entire concert video...it's amazing but not as amazing as seeing them perform live. I've managed it twice both times at the Concert Hall in Toronto! Unbelievable peformance! Though Ogre doesn't sign autographs...shame. Ya I guess I'm a Puppy fan boy at heart. lol.

  • lol are you serious?! he refuses to?! i must say....that kind of pisses me off :S. i'm going to see them in toronto on the 13th

  • Ogre is such a fucking performer it's insane. No wonder he went on to be in a movie. I don't know Skinnpy Puppy that well at all but they sure are cool as hell.

  • only one? lol. i know for fact he (all of them) were in doom generation, but i bet theres more after that.

  • thx 4 sharing

  • Eternamente SP, nada mais vanguardista

  • wow thats badass horror rock!!!

  • when you said it was going to be hard to keep this dear bitch afloat, it made my sophomore year very hard.
