since karthus' ulti has a rather long cooldown, you should save it for team fights. DO NOT USE IT AT THE END. if you do, then im sure almost all of ur teammates will call u noob unless u get extremely lucky and happened to KS all of ur teammates and ace them.

to point out:

1) karthus' ulti does a shitload of damage if you are using him right.

2) it should not be used as a killing spell

why not?

because have u seen a hero use his ultimate to ks a teamates kill? besides, if you do it like that, the chances of you actually killing the hero is nearly zero if they remotely know how to play. instead if you use it AT THE BEGINNING of a team fight right before the teams are about to engage

1) everyone on their team will be at least 500~600hp less than full.

2) people tend to run away on low health

3) damage dealers tend to have low hp so 500hp is a lot

lastly, this might not be the best fight for karthus as i know a few people who play it differently but this general build order has gotten me 1300elo with not that much bitching from my teammates.

items: (not in order)

1) mejai (get ap from assists, not kills usually)

2) warmog (survivability since you are usually the lowest hp and highest elo damage)

3) archangle (mana/mana regen/good ap)

4) rabadon (cant spell but this is self explanatory )
