Patriots cheated. They were fined after their "victory" in Super Bowl 36. Bellicheat and the staff taped Kurt's hand signals and the red zone offense. Pats knew they couldn't handle the Great Show on Turf thats so they cheated. Plus lets not forget that 9/11 happened that year the country was in a state of terror how fitting would it be for the "Patriots" to win. Oh yeah they had to win. The Pats ruined a dynasty, the GSOT would've been the greatest team in NFL history had the Pats not cheated.

The Raiders got cheated out in the AFC Champion Game and then Patriots had footage of the Rams plays a week before the Super Bowl. Patriots are too far away from Boston to be the Boston Patriots. In fact, Jets and Giants play in New Jersey, not New York.

Unfortunately my Rams were robbed of the chance to be the dynasty when they lost a couple weeks later in the SB. I have despised anything and everything about the Pats since then. Not sure yet about your Saints theory but it would be interesting if they won over such a powerful offense like the Colts and Manning (= of the Rams and Warner)

But now we can sit back and watch Karma catch up to them. 2007 18-0. lose SuperBowl. 2008 Brady suffers season ending injury in the first game, and Pats miss playoffs. 2009 Pats one and done in Plaoffs to a team who completed FOUR PASSES. The only bona-fide time they were caught cheating was spygate, which according to most NFL insiders ALL teams did and still do. They just got caught. Secondly filming some defensive calls from a terrible Jets team did not magically allow them to go 18-1 and win three SBs before that. Don't be so single-minded.
I have no dog in this fight. I am a Broncos fan, as sad as that is. In fact, I think Brady is highly over-rated. But I am not pretending that all of the Pats success came from cheating.

I am open minded enough to realize there is no reason to destroy tapes if there is nothing on them, you dont get fined and lose draft picks for something everyone else is doing, and I'm not pretending the first time they cheated they just happened to get caught, wow, thats bad luck! Got turned in by a former coach who knew them well, and Charlie Weiss is not such an offensive genius anymore. Better players, Moss, Maroney, Welker, but not as good a team? btw, loved Atwater in the day :)

I just think the hatred toward the pats is a little overkill. It's a simple minded attack that lacks depth just blaming the cheating. They still had to play the games, throw the passes, kick the field goals, etc. Spygate didn't make a 3-13 team go undefeated.
Atwater was the sht. If anyone deserve to be in the HoF it is him. I miss that kind of play. Make those hits now and refs start throwing flags. We were lucky enough to see it.

People will always hate cheaters if records or champions are involved. Similar to Bonds and McGwire, still had to swing and hit, but suspition cheapens the achievement. I don't dislike the pats, just Belicheat, it's too bad, because they were good enough without cheating, but now, it's why people don't like them.
